new glenn is the second vehicle EVER to use a ffsc cycle. it is ridiculously complex, with the other vehicle being starship.

@@Bag_of_chips_real Lol no, New Glenn uses oxidizer rich staged combustion. You're confusing Blue Origin New Glenn with Stoke Space Nova launch vehicle (Fyi, Stoke Space is a brand new aerospace company established in 2020 in California).

Got a long way to go to catch up with Space-X. But, congrats on at least reaching orbit. Landing is hard, huh Jeff?

I think you're confusing Blue Origin's New Glenn with Stoke Space Nova launch vehicle.

Come on, I love SpaceX more myself but this is huge accomplishment in terms of accessibility towards space.

The second stage is discarded. No heat tiles required on the first stage.

First: It ain't all that easy. Second: Loosing flight telemetry nowadays while in "coast mode" almost has to be a manufactured issue. . ? My cheap little 2-meter hand held radio Can reach the ISS when it orbits over my area, so I damn well Know that ol' Bezos with his giga-bucks can anti-up a better radio system than I have! Blue Origin's presentation of their maiden NG-1 launch was surprisingly pathetic with a "Karen Talking head" that screamed over anybody else who tried to speak, (And yes. `Actually SCREAMED, fighting for the mike.), and being that Bezos is the owner of the New York Times and all, you'd think they'd just Maybe have their shit together enough to know how to do that simple task most refer to as Advertising, ya'think? . . Me's starting to think that Blue Origin may be an example of how and what Not to do??

At this point we don't know why it lost telemetry, but the likely cause is the booster broke up in flight.

@@billweberx First of all, it just ain't easy, right?

It wasn’t coasting; booster telemetry stopped while it was firing its center three engines for the entry burn (i.e, the three engines were still burning). And Bezos doesn’t own the NYT; he owns the Washington Post.
