Always loved 3 litre Capris, in the past and at the time I owned a 1970 1600 GT XLR, in Silver fox, and some years later a Modena green 3 litre GXL both brilliant cars! Interesting videos as well, thanks ..,👍
I learnt the first time I did engine mounts on my Capri just unbolt the mounts from the engine, it's way quicker without all the faffing about trying to lever them out.
Happy new year to you too. Yes I did notice that was missing, haven’t had a proper look at the steering yet the whole coupling might need replaced if the rubber it shot.
Happy new year stu good job you changed that water pump and thermostat flushed it out I would check the heater box as well it must of been looked after as the body looks good hopefully it's solid underneath as you know wat fords are like I've never had to do a Capri but many other models over the years and plenty of welding wish I could afford to buy a Capri even a 1.6 or 20L and I bet yours wasn't cheap to buy
Happy new year Peter, I’ve not looked at heater box yet beyond flushing out the matrix . The motors are common to seize so will likely pull it out and split and fit the refurb kit you get for these in a future episode. Body’s not bad, it’s had wings and sills in the past and some plates to the floor I don’t think there’s much I need to do to it in the respect but I might tidy some of it up.
Happy new year ,cant beat some Scottish Old Ford on a new year day..are we going to see this at some shows this year ..if you get a min jump over an have a look at my channel blind garage scotland i got a fleet of Old Ford’s .an there a video of shite at the peer on sunday we took morris 1000 pick up along.
Happy new year to you too. I’ll no doubt be at some shows this year yes. I did subscribe to your channel and did see your pickup in a shot earlier in the week. looks nice. I’ll get a proper look at somepoint of all your other vids 👍
@@mikesher3794 yeah it’s 45 years old so no MOT required. I believe I just apply for tax and that’s it, I’m assuming there’s a check box to confirm it’s road worthy or something, not tried it yet. I’ll do it once it’s actually road worthy!
Orange one has a 2.9 cosworth from a Granada in it. There’s a couple of videos of it on my channel, an onboard one and a Timelapse of me putting it together after paint.
Love how much easier it is to work on cars from this period with much less plastic bits that always break! Much greater access too!
Always loved 3 litre

Sounds great - good job.
Thanks a lot!
Happy new year Stuart always some silly thing that holds ya back you have no bolt in the flexi joint on the steering column.

Made me want to own a Ford Capri again... almost...then i saw the price of a good example!
Yeah they’re not cheap, hence I didn’t buy a good example!
Can you drive this without MOT certificate as I presume it's over 40 years old? Do you need a valid MOT before you can apply for historical status?

Get some coke a cola in the cooling system.
It will help to dissolve all the crusty scale
