Hey everyone! Thank you again for your patience, i know this video was a little while in the making, but I didn't realize I was shooting in 4K, and editing this footage made my little computer very angry.
BUT Thank you for joining me today, I'm SO happy with this video!
If you remember from my vlog in 2015, at the very first SNAFI flash event (linked here: goo.gl/EqW7Ay) you might be familiar with this event, thrown by Ashley Love. If not, this is a world wide flash event, where tattoo artists donate their time, skills and all of their proceeds to local organizations which aid in prevention, healing & justice of survivors. In this video I follow three tattoo artist from True Hand Society (Kate Collins, Cindy Vega, Jacob Des) for the day as they host this flash event.

This is my very first video ever shot in 4k! So to get the full experience make sure to hit the gear icon and change the quality to 4k! (Editing in 4k was pretty difficult for my little computer, so it might be only reserved for special occasions, but let me know if it makes a difference!)

I went to my local Levi's store recently where this girl in the shop who helped me buy some cute shorts complimented me on my tattoos. I had noticed hers too, because they were in a similar style to what I like. While we were talking I noticed some work on her arm and asked if it was done by the artist I thought I recognised the style from. I guessed right and I showed her the tattoo I have from the same artist. She mentioned that she was going to the Still Not Asking For It flash event (where that artist would be tattooing) a week from then and if I would want to join her even though we just met. We went and got tattooed together. My friend who has a business in vegan baking also happened to be there for the fundraiser and we all had cupcakes and good talks and it was one of the best days. Together with the intention behind the flash event and fundraiser this is a memory I will cherish forever with a cute tattoo to help me remember. I love how tattoos can bring likeminded people together. Writing this down makes me seriously sentimental lol.

:’D aaaaw the person getting the rose who it was their first time being tattooed by a woman, that is so cool... my third tattoo was my first time being tattooed by a woman and it was such an important experience, so different from my previous two both done by two different male artists... i was very emotional the whole time. we were both wearing skirts haha and i imagine we looked pretty cool.

I have some pieces from Jacob Des! I love his artwork and he’s so easy going. I get easily intimidated, and he makes the atmosphere so comfortable. I love his muted almost vintage color pallet.
I would have gotten ofred or the witch on the broom. So dope.

I wish I could've gotten a tattoo from this event. Nowhere near me was doing it I think. But I'd love to be a part of the still not asking for it event someday.

I got tattooed at SNAFI 2018 at Ashley's shop Yellow Rose! Such a great experience, can't wait for next year!

Love the concept of self care tattoos. Glad you did some voice over, because tattoo guns are quite loud. Just hearing them it's like I can feel them again xD

I got a tattoo at indigo rose tattoo for the snafi event this year! it's a heart with some flowers and a banner that says "myself." self love is a radical concept for me and I'm so thankful for this event and my experience with it ♡

Ive always wanted to attend these flash days because it seems like a nice way to support local & also get something neat out of it! I see them happening in other towns a lot but need to get on my own cities radar! I thought for sure you would get the handmades tale piece! Any specific reason you decided not to get one this year? I loved this swing on an interview style! It was cool to have the people behind the camera looking up at YOU while you talked. :)

I have two Friday the 13th tattoos 👀👀 with 13s on them 👀👀 one is a candy corn and the other a slice of pizza. I love them both. I wish we had an event like this in my area. I can't afford the big tattoos I want but I love flash event too. I was able to find tattoos that can mean something to me even tho I didn't great then myself or help design them. They still show a meaning to me.
I would have loved to have had the chance to come down and get the handmaid. Love the show and great representation of the cause.

These are all dope. I got my 13th tattoo this year at a shop that always donates to local charities, like this year was I believe for homelessness and previous years have been to the local Humane Society.
this vlog has ignighted my tattoo bug for sure! what a wonderful event. I wonder why arms and legs only - just easier to tat than torso/shoulders? just a wonder, not a real question =)

Are we sure that that's lavender? 'cause the blooms on lavender are more bunched together (on the same stem) & vertical and the leaves are long and skinny.

Idk my artist added lavender to my sleeve and it looked just like that. I think it's a special style
I def googled different types of lavender to see if I was wrong before I made my initial comment. And none of the ones I saw looked anything like the art in this vid. So I don't know what to tell you.

this was a beautiful video. I love the way you and the artists went about this event and I like that they wanted to think of these events as a club. The fact that they are donating $$ to an organization of their choice to support a good cause is amazing.

i have no tattoos yet but i want some when I’m a little older (I’m 18 right now) and i reaaaally want to go to one of these events now so hopefully it grows and continues for years to come and maybe when I’m 21 there will be one near me

I went to the event in Detroit and love it.
I ADORE THIS! Trying to hit up Cindy now! Only thing is, those herbs aren't lavender! It looks completely different lol, but anyhow, I'm so bummed I missed this event! Didn't even know about it!! :'(

I tried to go to that last month but I my ride canceled at the last second. The closest tattoo parlor was an hour and a half away so I couldn't go. Hopefully next year!

“Etching style” is basically traditional lithograph if I get what you’re meaning. Like old black illustrations in books etc

I love the idea behind this event but it sketched me out seeing one of the artists tattooing without a clip cord bag... the cord drags all over the bed which is a prime spot for the microscopic fluids to land on... just not good practice IMO. :S. I've not been to a place where they didn't wrap the beds with cling wrap either.
@Qcknd// Quick question, you see a lot of tattoo artists who listen to music while tattooing their client but when you're the one who is getting the tattoo is it rude to listen to music while getting it done because in the future i really want to get one but i would want to listen to music to take my mind of the pain?
