I hope you enjoyed the video, please remember this is a complete one man production, the same man presenting the video did all the camera and sound work, in a total run and gun situation so please forgive some of the less than perfect production values. I held back some of my interviews and a lot of HiFi system B Roll because of the run time of this video being so long. Here is a part II as requested th-cam.com/video/7WtQUlzD1CA/w-d-xo.html Thanks for watching.
I did really enjoy the video and I think it sounds and looks great ... so no worries about that Terry 👍🎶 And def interested in a part 2 or even a part 3 🙌
This is the most comprehensive and enjoyable video coverage of the High End Munich Show that I have seen this year. It truly fulfils the role of media in delivering market news to the audience. Moreover, the filming is beautifully done, and the 50 minutes just flew by unnoticed. Thank you very much for your efforts. (Ken Wong)
You’ve done it again. I was waiting for your report of Munich High End 2023. I wasn’t disappointed. No one comes even close the the standard of your photos and videos. I enjoyed the interviews a lot too. Even the interviewees were very enthusiastic speaking with you. That is all down to you. Fantastic job. Keep them coming.
The best report for Munich High End! Period! I saw many other and I still learned new things in yours. Super quality of video recording and top mix between systems and interviews. Congrats❤
I know you say you are kidding, but the loss of high frequency hearing is not as big a detriment to critical listening as some would make it out to be. First of all, only a handful of instruments reproduce frequencies beyond about 12K, even including harmonics. But there are so many other aspects of listening to an audio system that are probable not affected in any great way, either. Dynamics (micro and macro), soundstage and imaging, quality of all other frequencies, clarity and detail, and others.
Wow Terry, your video quality has increased dramatically and it looks very, very good and professional, now. Thank you for covering what I am passionate about and very interested in! Keep up the good work!
I really liked your video, together with John Darko's video I get a really good impression of this year's High End Munich, thanks for that and I'm looking forward to part 2. Greetings from the Netherlands 👍👍
This walk through of the HiFi show is very helpful and interesting. The background music is also amazingly good to listen as well. This is a great show.
great coverage, some lovely shots of the equipment - looking forward to hearing your opinions on some of the pieces you listened to and some of your highlights from the show
Terry this is the best coverage of the Munich High End 2023, thanks a lot. Very interesting and so professional, as usual. I hope you could put your hands on NAD M66 very soon. Thumb up !
Thanks Terry, that was a splendidly presented round up of all things Munich High End show. I’m a John Darko and Steve Gutenberg viewer who sometimes strays elsewhere for further nuggets and delights in Hi-Fi world. A brilliant take on the show, and an interesting complement to JD’s slant. Peace etc!
Great presentation. Its almost like being there in person, ie, at the 12:03 mark where someone walks in the frame. LOL Sort of that as it happens moments. Wonderful see all the high end products, and even some that the blue collar audiophile can attain. Great work, thank you again.
Thank you Terry, especially for looking more at stuff mere humans can also buy. That guy who was talking Bugatti level equipment at this show was not lying, that ZAR75 million + unit from ESD Acoustics, oh my 🤣
Thank you Terry for a balanced video, including some high-end wow-looking products and some kit that us lesser mortals could more reasonably consider. I'm especially taken by Quad's new speakers and electronics ranges and would really love to see a review by your good self down the line if Mr Comeau could loan you some. I have great respect for the Quad sound, so would love to hear these myself, and the Revela speakers look beautifully finished. Also Terry, can I just say I really enjoyed your bookshelf speaker grouptest videos in the past. Would love to see a similar thing in future, but perhaps for other products. But thanks again for all you do. Your videos have come a long way and look more professional each release. Well done!
Great coverage Terry, you managed to feature many products that other reviewers had glossed over or never even shown in passing such as the Quad/Wharfedale/ifi/Final etc. Hope you can do that part 2, always like the quality of your show coverage🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Nice to have a short chat with you when you were recording the intro of this vid. As you can see from this video you still had a lot of work ahead of you. This way I can see some audio stuff again that I had to miss, you don't get to see everything once in one day. Grtz Phil
What a superb video, I think it might just be your finest work to date, thank you for your hard work putting it together, I really enjoyed it Terry and you put us right in the heart of the action 😁👍
Thanks John, my hope is that every video is better than the last one mate but its not always the case despite how hard I try. I appreciate you noticing and for the kind words

Many thanks for yet another really enlightening & enjoyable, watch. All the very best to you & yours, G. (Japan for past 25 yrs. - ex.Scotland).
By far the best produced and best organized coverage of the show. Thanks for doing all that hard work Terry. The Stradivari are stunning. I find it interesting that the designer would claim better imaging with such a wide baffle. Any thoughts on that claim?
@@PursuitPerfectSystem Mate.. it’s a look at gear.., that I’d/ we’d never get otherwise …, you show a lot of feet on the ground and respect…, I really enjoy learning from you🙏🙏🙏 from🥝🇳🇿
15:51 I design and build speakers that people ❤ and my made speakers completely flog my B&W 706's. And I can't make them sound any better than with just several parts in the crossover. I made (two way) FR driver plus woofer speakers with like 6 compenent crossovers and I built (3 way) caxial plus woofer speakers with 8 components on thecrossover. Sounded best with so few parts and has a cleaner more direct sound. Not so complicated sounding as with crossovers that had a lot of parts (that I have built before). 😅
As someone who deeply understands physics and has been a loudspeaker designer and music producer (for the majority of my life) the Boenicke W22 is the most comically moronic design I've ever seen in my entire life. Sweet Jesus. Absolutely. Terrifyingly. Mind-blowingly. Insanely. Stupid. Dear God.
Great video and coverage of the show, wish I could attend. May I ask, whats the name of the first soundtrack that is played in the intro section? Keep the great content coming. 👍
Now you guys, how long is a piece of string? I need a new HiFi system. What do I buy? Something of quality, not (too) expensive, something that stays relevant for at least 20 years. I need a Plattenspieler ( record player) for old record speeds and sizes, CD's and taping capacity. I may also want to look into blue-tooth and other modern developments. I also hate loading up CD's, so something that plays more than one CD at a time. Has anyone written an electronics for Dummies recently. Maybe I can teach myself and catch up on the developments in technology.
the gentleman at 26:20 should consider making his speakers a bit taller cause they look like toys next to him. Then we can talk about the mixture of the fibers in the cones. Then as you can see , audiophiles have an own developed language like at 42:20 where we learn that the woofer has no "hangover" :-). Oh my God I sometimes want them to never stop sharing all this deep knowledge. Then he goes describing Line arrays in concerts as the new big news but never using the words Line array. Its important that everything stays mystical :-) Lmao! If I knew all of this a few decades back I would have avoided all the hangovers I swear it!
My problem with IAG products, is that there always appears to be so much shared technology between the various brands, which kind of defeats the claims being made about how "we developed this" being made by each brand. Look at the power meters on the Quad amp and the Audiolab amp, and they appear very similar. Look at the inside of the Leak and Quad amps, and they're almost identical. It pretty much kills the off any "brand identity" claims.
The quad VU meters look similar but the Quad amp was designed by the guys from Fink Team so its got a different pedigree of amplifier design compared to the audiolab range, its much more expensive but has a much meaty full and solid sound. I asked Peter about the difference between the new Quad and new Wharefdale and he spoke to me for a while about the differences between an AMT and Ribbon tweeter, because on the face of it they look similar but they are not for a number of reasons he explained to me. There are also very obvious visual differences with the new quad speakers, they are quite quirky looking I think where there new Wharfedale look like the love child of the Elysian and EVO speakers which is exactly what you would expect. I appreciate this seems like I am defending them, but I am just being honest with what I saw and heard and asked and was told
You would think we had speakers and sound figured out by now. Several different companies here, all with completely different designs, trying to recreate the wheel. I wish I could hear them
