Or use The Masters brush soap, which you can use to condition the brushes in between uses and coat them to preserve them. I couldn’t cope with brushes all gunky/dried up like the ones in the video.
I use the A4 white card stock from the pound shop (not 99p store) and I use everything on it, it can hold acrylic paint, watercolour, alcohol markers, ink everything! so I buy tons of it and make my own sketchbooks. Definitely keep an eye out, it's just in a plastic sleeve with blue writing across it. It's 200gsm x
I have gone through that, a lot actually, so my best advice would be to take a bit of time off, evaluate why you started drawing and why you continued it. Then draw whatever feels right, if you decide that drawing is the thing for you
I would love to know more about how you learnt to draw, what kind of books or tutorials you would recommend to a total beginner to drawing people and perhaps where you see your art going/future plans. Love your videos x
I've been on and off your channel for the last few days and can't take my eyes from your videos! - not sure how I stumbled across but I've fallen in love with your style, technique, and overall spirit for how you join the magic of your visual art with the platform that is TH-cam. Congrats on a stellar channel! Can't wait to see more.
Hey Minnie, great video and congrats on reaching 10k (almost 11k now) . Definitely looking forward to your Q&A. My question for you is do you have an educational background or degree, related to art? And my second question is how do manage your planning and stick to it?
Brilliant video, this will help me greatly since I'm trying to do more art this year as well as do more traditional art since I only done digital for most of last year so I've been in need of recommendations for art supply's so this works wonders, definitely gonna have a look at some of your other videos.
For the Q&A: What advice do you have for the novice artist out there? What is a good starting point or, in your experience, what is the best way to improve in a medium you are interested in? ( like watercolor, digital, sketching, etc) or is there a good source to recommend like books, tutorials, TH-cam artist, etc. Bonus question lol ... do you think you will do a "draw my life" at some point? Thank you for taking time to read my comment/question. You are amazingly talented and absolute goals as an artist!!!!!!!
nice, I just bought that scanner, gonna install it soon. That's the only one I can get at the moment, and I was afraid that the quality might not be that good.
Hey! I love your videos and brush pen work so much :3--I just wanted to let you know that Reeves isn't quite the best gouache to use. I'd stick with Windsor & Newton or Holbein (really pigmented). (Illustration major--4+ yrs experience lol) Best! -Sharese
Congrats on over 10k!! You definitely deserve it! I don't know if you'e already filmed your Q&A (I kind of catched this video super late, unfortunately) but if you haven't my question is: What is your favorite thing you've drawn recently
+Martina Violic Hey sorry I missed your question! My favourite recent thing was my Rihanna painting because it turned out almost exactly how I pictured it! Thank you!! :)
I really love your videos I just find then super nice and relaxing as well as useful with my art. So yeah props to you :D thanks for making all these cool videos. :>
how did you come up with your style? did you do anithing art relating as a job ( cause your sense of form and color would be really handy in graphic design^^)
Omg you're British (as am I) I love your accent! Just found your channel, and instantly subscribed :--) what a beautiful channel with aesthetically appealing vids, great editing, and wonderful content! 💙⚡️
It depends, if you like to draw, get maybe a pencil that you like with copic markers for colouring. If you like to paint, I dunno, I don't paint all to much.
Ok here's a question for your Qn'A Minnie! What have been your biggest inspiration/is your biggest inspiration at the moment (When it comes to style and design that is)?
*Super interesting video !* Your videos and your blog posts are well made, love how you settle your stuff :) I’m wondering how you stay organized each day, do you have a *same* weekly schedule ? I mean for example _monday morning filming videos_ etc...
How long have you been practicing art to get to where you are now? Your art is really good and I'm still a beginner, though I hope to improve with practice.
Ooh funnily enough I've just switched from my uni-ball to the sakura gelly rolls and I actually prefer the latter! I always had issues with the ink flow of the uni-ball which I haven't had so far with the Gelly roll pens :P
Very informative. I am also an oaf with my paintbrushes. The poor things! I keep them when they're tattered though, as they make great textures ❤️ question: can we be friends 😫 lol
So when you use a mixed-media sketchbook for paints.... can you paint straight in the Sketchbook without it going through or wilting up??? I'm scared to try 😂
are reeves gouache good quality? i have the reeves watercolors which are okay and acrylics which arent as good and ive been wanting to get into gouache but i dont know what are good beginner paints
Hi Minnie, I'm a new subscriber and I'm really enjoying your videos so far! You're truly a talented and inspiring artist! I have a question about this video though: when I click on the link that is supposed to lead me to the blog post about "My go-to art essentials, the extensive collection", it just brings me to you home page. I can't seem to find the blog post anywhere? I would really like to read it, can I find it anywhere ? Thanks in advance! :)
Do you ever think you would be able travel to the U.S. for something like an artist meet up?Maybe say,in Washington DC? Also I love your artwork,it inspires me so much!
Random question: what is your preferred eraser to use? I ask because the one bought from my local art store is smudging really easily i feel like its creating more of a mess rather than erasing hahaha.
"Bits and bobs" is such a cute English phrase, I love it! I say "odds and ends" sometimes :-)
just a little trick! when your brushes are dried out put them in a glass of vinegar for 20-30 minutes and there like new!
Thank you for this!
Or use The Masters brush soap, which you can use to condition the brushes in between uses and coat them to preserve them. I couldn’t cope with brushes all gunky/dried up like the ones in the video.
Her voice is so damn beautiful and calm, and then the videos are astonishing as well...
Where's her five million subs at?!
hiding her from drama
I agree her voice is sooo soothing

+Sarah / sarazorel 💕💕💕 hehe thank you!! Welcome to my channel :)
I’m happy I’m not the only one who gets the huge thing of white studio gouache for painting. I also love the fact you also say “bits and bobs”

I love the slick / stylish and clean presentation in this video.
This calmed me down so much you have no idea
:)

I love how clean your surface is, plus the detail you've given per art material. Thank you for sharing! :)
Has there ever been a time in you life when you wanted to give up on art and what kind of self discipline tips would you give to stay on track.
You shoul check juicy ink's videos! They really help you being motivated
I have gone through that, a lot actually, so my best advice would be to take a bit of time off, evaluate why you started drawing and why you continued it. Then draw whatever feels right, if you decide that drawing is the thing for you

i lOVE your technique and the way you draw! can you talk about your style and what inspires it/how it came to be?

Ok here's a question for your Qn'A Minnie! What have been your biggest inspiration/is your biggest inspiration at the moment (When it comes to style and design that is)?

How long have you been practicing art to get to where you are now? Your art is really good and I'm still a beginner, though I hope to improve with practice.
Wow, in a year you have grown 110k! Amazing!
It's so hard to find the Uni-ball Signo where I live! I use the Gelly rolls by Sakura but the ink is iffy
Ooh funnily enough I've just switched from my uni-ball to the sakura gelly rolls and I actually prefer the latter! I always had issues with the ink flow of the uni-ball which I haven't had so far with the Gelly roll pens :P

Random question: what is your preferred eraser to use? I ask because the one bought from my local art store is smudging really easily i feel like its creating more of a mess rather than erasing hahaha.
I don't have anything special at the moment :P you might have more luck with a kneaded eraser which you can find at art stores or online
