Because the responsibility for maintenance does rest in the first instance with the school, the headmaster and governors. Everyone nowadays simply sits on their laurels and without exception blames the government for literally everything. Man up you people, accept responsibility. Many headmasters earn salaries far greater than politicians….let them earn it. Her little outburst tells us for once a politician can also be practically human.
That said, no one with a practical brain would go into politics, they have to deal with the general public.
I’ve donned my tin hat and await the moronic flack.

I bet there's not many tory MPs kids in these schools!
    She says cousins kids.
That's the closest Tories ever get to public institutions like schools or hospitals.

Having studied in four and lived in seven countries so far, never have I known who the local minister of education was. I knew the major parties, the presidents and prime ministers, even the healthcare and defence minister, but the education minister remained an unknown identity. Maybe it’s my own ignorance or perhaps their level of relevance. But she does have great hair. And lots of it.

Both in the UK and US, the classroom is under attack. Administrations are now so politicized that quality education with real standards is not possible. No wonder many graduates come out without basic reading and math skills. Some of these dolards go on to Ivy League schools and bring down their standards as well. So, now we know the real reason SAT scores are not needed for college admissions. Btw. Parents are enablers as well to low standard education.

The government defence that she wasn't talking about herself was as implausible as Sunak claiming cutting from 100 schools rebuilt a year to 50 when 200 was requested is presiding over an increase. The only increase has been pumping public money to wealthy Conservative sponsors, backers and business associates everything else has been cut to the bone NHS, Education, Transport, utilities all public services impacting quality of life and opportunity.

I wouldn’t say that’s an ‘outburst’, and therefore attaching a negative lead-in to the video. I’d much prefer hear politicians talk candidly and passionately showing they are humans. Regardless of where you sit on the political spectrum. Thoughts?

    • @Krytern

It was an outburst. While I agree that they should speak their mind it is the choice of language and the fact she actually got upset for not receiving praise, when she did a bad job... This is what people are having issue with. She had an emotional outburst because she didn't get what she feels entitled to. An outburst doesn't always mean someone going complete nuts.
