Love your channel. Can we have a video for serious walking/ all day standing shoe with stability. Just like you i need stability but shred through shoes in a month. I literally eat out the front of the shoe midsole in a month- Hoka, Asics. The best so far found to be Mizuno Wave but the midsole is gone in 2 months. The glycerin 21gts lasted me the most but needed a bit more cushion. Have tried over 20 different pairs. Haven’t tried the guide as worried of the exposed area. Walking only on paved roads. Walking on average 42-46 miles a week
I like he mentioned about volume, details regarding walking. He always mentions about volume fit which is really important for me (especially midfoot), but walking related comments sounded new to me and I appreciate that.
Can we get a video talking about sizing for running shoes vs everyday shoes? I get that it's personal preference but it would be nice to hear from your perspective. Ideally a real example like: my foot measures X on the brannock device and I wear a size Y for my running shoes.
I don't think it's as definitive as some reviewers make it out to be, but it's always a helpful frame of reference to know someone's foot strike when they discuss how a shoe rides/transitions for them.
what is your favorite walking shoe and what about walking shoe for winter? all these shoes are great but too thin for cold winters...I hate using hiking boots, too heavy
Glideride Max is better than Nimbus, which for me is too soft. I haven’t tried Superblast, but Glideride Max has a very good fit and a feeling of quality in the midsole.
Thanks for the video Matt My current rotation is the gel nimbus 25 (which I'm able to get from my local Asics outlet for under $100) and the superblast 2 I've tried the novablast 3/4 but honestly this two shoe rotation has been great for me
We are finally getting the SB2 in a few weeks where I am. Can you tell me how the SB2 sizing is compared to the Nimbus 25? I have the Nimbus 25 right now but unsure which size to order the SB2 in hearing they run small??
You nailed it Matt as usual, my Superblast is racking the mileage because it’s simply my go to shoe. Once it broken in there is nothing that comes close
I love all the info you guys provide on your videos and podcasts. I recently added the Nimbus 26 to my running shoe lineup and have fallen in love with it. Highly recommend for slow/long/recovery runs. I'm even considering buying another pair of nimbus 26s for my everyday that I just wear out and about it's that comfortable for me.
Matt, if i may suggest, if you could find, Asics Tarther RP3. The opposite of the shoes above... but an absolute gem! Nobody is reviewing that in the west! But for someone with a lighter frame such as yourself or David, I reckon you will like it for workouts!
I’ve just started on my 3rd pair of the Glideride 3, but the 2nd pair lasted over 1000km so I have plenty of time before I’ll need to change. I’ll definitely be looking at the Glideride Max sometime in the future.
I always enjoy your videos and I'm a big fan of the podcast. I've learned so much. I'm about 130 lbs., slow, midfoot striker, with a shuffling gait, so I like shoes that don't feel like too much shoe underfoot. I'm currently looking at the Noosa Tri 16 or, possibly, the Hyperion 2. I have the Superblast v1 and it felt like a brick because I don't hit the ground hard enough to compress the foam.
I'm really curious about Glideride Max vs Novablast 4. I like the rocker, toe spring and forefoot stiffness of the Glideride 3 but need a replacement. Glideride Max seems like the obvious choice but got a bit heavier and is more expensive. Novablast is cheaper and people say it now has more rocker and is also more stiff, so it seems like a decent option.
The Superblast 1 changed my life. I had a bad ankle injury 20 years ago, yet it didn't stop me from running and racing. All shoes felt the same. And then the Superblast showed up. I can't say enough about it. It is simply a gift from God.
it's almost funny because you are missing 2 neutral daily shoes from Asics: Novablast 4 and Cumulus 26! Almost impossible to choose without videos like this so thanks for doing this!
The Superblast 2 is a freakish shoe. No idea how it can be that big and fast at the same time. I’ve enjoyed it at every pace from short reps at 3k pace to easy long runs and everything in between. The only sad part is not knowing if another pair will be available after I retire them haha
Thank you for sharing. As I understand, the previous Glideride 3 was recommended for running with a plantar plate tear due to its stiff forefoot. I'm not sure if the new model, Glideride Max, is still a good recommendation for plantar plate tear? I am about to buy the Altra Via Olympus v1 because it has a stiff forefoot, and the Glideride 3 is not available in Malaysia. Now, I can't decide whether to wait for the Glideride Max to be released or buy the Altra Via Olympus.I would appreciate any advice you can give.
I'm going to pre-order the new Glideride Max without trying it on first- I wear a 9.5 in the Novablast and a 10 in the Nimbus, which shoe would you say the Glideride fits closest to? Thanks
Excellent video, thanks so much! I got the Nimbus 26 and love them, they are really comfortable for long days in the office. But truth is, I would like to buy a second pair of good shoes and I was looking at either the Superblast 2 or Glideride Max! So, your video came right on time :D Thing is, I do not run, I only walk. But I walk a bit fast and doing around 5 km every night, as part of my diet program.. Do you think it would be smarter to go with what I already know and enjoy, i.e. another pair of Nimbus 26? or add a different second pair, SB2 or GRMax? Thanks in advance .xx
you will not enjoy walking in the SB2 it is very firm. it is definitely made for tempo or long distance runs. definitely get the nimbus 26 again, I also walk in it too
Would you say is the best on taking pressure off the upper/toe box area ? Its basically because i have sesamoiditis (those two small ball points under the big toe) and have had a feacture for over 3 years.
@@DoctorsofRunning I enjoy Sb2 so much! I'm struggling with the running feelings, it seems similar to either sky or edge. It is hard to choose the shoes for my first marathon.
A ton of words for some shoes everywhere on youtube. Yes, there are some differences, but sorry for saying, most of talking is just bull shit. :) I'm running fine in nimbus as well as in a Magic Speed. I can run fast in nimbus, and slow in magic speed. 25 years ago I owned just a single pair of running shoes and I didn't have any issue to run in them at least 2 years. Il'm sorry but if someone can't run fast in a Nimbus or can't do a slow running with a "super shoe", that's not a runner at all. Yes, if you want to beat the world record, then is another story.
Good for you, sir. Keep in mind however, that certain shoe models can mean a great deal to people with certain issues. It won't make sense to those who never experience problems with knees/hips/achilles/pronation. So it's a great thing that you feel great on any shoe! But those reviews are not "bs", and help making educated purchases for those who need it.
Great question. I probably should have but I was trying to compare premium trainers. The Novablast is almost like a more affordable super last in my opinion
Does Matt’s info help? Let us know what other info we can provide in videos.

Great review as ever Matt, would be nice if ASICS made enough Superblasts so that people can actually BUY them!
It's the hoarders and resellers. Someone I now bought 10 pairs with his staff discount

Nice comparison. IMO, best shoes from Asics are the Nossa Tri 16 and Novablast 4, best non-plated daily trainers available on the market.
You should do a video on stability shoes.

Asics the king 👑 of all running shoes
Matt, you gave excelent presentation for these 3 shoes. you da man ! Congrats on the little one!
These videos have really helped me understand!
I have Kayano 30 for LSD, and superblast for half/marathon pace long run only. Work out well for using non plated trainer exclusively at the moment.
Very interested in the glideride max. Liked the 3 but didnt love it, keen to try the max
Crazy to think they have these plus the Cumulus, Novablast, and Noosa Tri in the neutral trainer category.

Glideride 3 was supposed to be 6mm too, but it was actually 11m and you could feel it. Is this new glideride really 6mm?

SB2 a bit more relaxed than the Sky series. Can do more versatile things but not race as hard as those which feel more aggressive.
