Fun fact from the old guy! During the reign of the super strat, guitar shops would be filled with used Les Pauls and other hard tails from all the trade ins. They were pretty cheap since no one had much interest in anything that didn't have a Floyd Rose or Kahler on it.
That seems true. I bought a Les Paul 1987 used and there was one more available at the local music store. I recently thought about the price Wich was 5500 kr equivalent to $515. I think a new Les Paul custom costed around 2200 at the time. I don't have that guitar today.
Yes I remember it quite well 🙂🙂🙂 I was a young adult back then... But unlike all my guitar-player friends I just LOVED Les Pauls, SG's etc...And because all these Gibsons that had fallen out of favor were so cheap that's how I was able to build my collection... I'm glad I did 😁😁😁 That didn't stop me from also buying Kramers, Charvels, Ibanez, and other brands back then and I still love them but I guess buying all these cheaper Gibsons plus some Teles and a few strats was the right thing to do...
@@notalkguitarampplug-insrev784Gibson doesn’t sell well because it’s overpriced junk. There’s comparable guitars that are better made and cost a lot less money.
I played a Kramer at guitar Center the other day, and I instantly fell in love with it love the way it played I was effortlessly able to move my fingers up and down the fretboard, even though I have large, thick fingers
George Lynch was almost a Kramer endorser. He flew to NJ to meet with the Kramer owners and they were late. He canceled with them and Dokken flew to Japan where ESP approached him with the ESP Kamikaze and he loved it as soon as he hit the first chord. He signed with ESP right then. Imagine all of George's sig models being Kramers.
George was endorsed for about 2 years 85-86, with Kramer, he has even confirmed this in past interviews, which were the original tiger striped guitars and a few others, but ESP at the time were building Kramer guitars amongst others. They were kinda like Cort is now, they were outsourced to build guitars parts etc for other companies in Japan. While he was in Japan on the Under Lock and Key tour in Dec. 85' he went to ESP to get a replacement neck finding out that they also make custom guitars, he ordered a couple guitars one of which was the Kamikaze which he received in 86, You can see the change in the first two video's for Under Lock and Key, the Hunter was the first released single and video, where he is using Kramer guitars, and it was filmed in later 85' and by the time they shot the follow up video, In My Dreams in 86' he had his ESP guitars and the rest is history as they say. Kramer signature Lynch guitars are rare and quite valuable of course.
kramer is killing it right now and they just released a new striker model hss and that one is also available in lefty like this one, really want a barretta now that’s it comes in a lefty
So funny. Just bought a cheap Baretta special today and I’m literally hooked on all things Kramer. It’s like this guitar platform was made for me. Never even considered a Kramer before today and now here we are, they’re coming at me full force 🤘🏻
Same. Got a Striker a few months ago and it's my first Kramer. Kitted it out with Seymour Duncan SSL-4 Quarter Pound in neck, Bare Knuckle Bootcamp Brute Force in mid and SD Invader in the bridge. Wiring was so easy I could do it myself without any confusion (I'm a total noob with wiring) and holy shit this guitar is a monster.
I gotta admit I love ‘80’s style superstrats! I have a Jackson Soloist but I’m starting to also consider that new Kramer Striker eventually…. I’m a huge sucker for red guitars 🎸
I still have my original Kramer from the 80's, a left handed Kramer focus 6000 with an original floyd rose, it has a humbucker with 2 single coils, I put an EVH Frankenstein humbucker pick up in it and a EVH 500k volume pot, still shreds and its metallic red. 😃🤘
You won’t regret buying one. I have a Baretta and an 84. Between the two, I always find myself gravitating towards the Baretta. The neck feels incredible, and the guitar sounds amazing.
Hagar is also a big Baretta player. I saw the Jumper Red and am currently ordering one to match his since I can't find any of his signature models anywhere.
I've got the Ruby Red Grapefruit one of these and I absolutely love it ! I had an 86' pointy headstock and a real 85 Baretta..both badass and wish I kept them. like these new colors..Great job Dagan !
I've got a pointy headstock version called a focus from the mid 80's in white with an original Floyd rose. The fretboard is so flat it takes some getting used to, but it sounds good.
I really enjoy watching you play, 80’s metal has always been number 1 in my book. My first cassette tape was motley crew, dr feel good. I’m by far a guitarist but really enjoy playing bits and pieces of 80’s metal. Picking up a beretta this week and was wondering if you can recommend a peddle that will help me achieve that sound. I have a vox that has many tones. But lacking that sound. Thanks man, and keep up the great videos!
I have a Wolfgang, a DK24 Charvel, and the bumblebee baretta, they are all great guitars and I love the Charvel but the Kramer Baretta is my favorite one to play for some reason, not even sure why, just feels very comfortable to me
I had an original beretta. Got it from an estate sale. God I wish I never sold it. Need all these new ones. Lol. And yes it had a maple body. Somebody had sanded the paint off at some point.
"Absolutely Killer Axe!" 😁👍 I Have The One With a Purple Finish. 🤟💀 Addictive....YES! You Will Literally Shred To The Bone....🤷♂️ 🤟😁 Love Your Video's Brother! Keep'em Rollin'
i bought a kramer baretta special put a Seymour Duncan JB in it , a graph tech nut, only thing i need to do is upgrade the tuners... and yeah already i put in 380+150 for the JB and 80 for tuners so lets call it 650 with installation fees from my luthier but i pretty much made it like this one without a floyd and maple body the special has mahoganhy... do u think ii should just buy a striker with a floyd if i want a floyd guitar? or buy one for this? it would probably be a better financial choice to buy a striker because i pay my luthier to install it if i go that route
New baretta finishes, the pacer classic, the new strikers, kramer is crushing it. I still pester their Instagram account to bring back the voyager though.
I'm looking at getting a new guitar and want this yellow baretta but I have the Pink ruby red baretta... so hard to pick If I want another baretta in my arsenal
Bought a Baretta special and put a Floyd 1000 and Duncan TB-4 with coil tap for half the price of these Classic Barretta's, going to get another color and do the same!
Hard tale sounds and sustain block with the high end string set setting the bar a fine contour body goes a long way No Floyd Rose when they finally made it down here. In the music store/tighten the tail shut as for know for better sustain loving it straight up /the rest of the sound from amplifier modulation and tweaking pedal board cheers Your Enthusiasm is contagious
Mick mars is definitely my favorite guitar player of all time he is the most underrated artist of the 80s he played in the 70s to so he has a shit ton of knowledge about played that atyle
Just bought a neck from a new model to put on my 85,mine had the dark rosewood,as most back then had.I got a maple this time. The old bodies are heavy as shit compared to the new ones.I just float them straight across, just so they stay in tune. The floyd rose specials blades and screws are too soft,German made ones float perfectly.I just found that out after buying 2 and the korean ones hang up on screws.Bought 2 german made and perfectly balance.Don't get the cheap ones trust me.Thought 2 for the price of one was good,Nope!
Ordered a lefty red one only to be let down by the company (it wasn't available anywhere else by the time I realised that they'd been released and deffo not PMT). There's none left now and I'm absolutely gutted. 😢😢😢
This guy is either a fantastic actor or is simply in love with every guitar in existence
Number 2 without a doubt
Well he admitted that Kramer is by far his number one
Yes to both
He’s especially a Kramer fan . He’s got a sick old one that’s raw wood that’s his personal guitar.
He really loves kramer so yeah

The late great Jeff Labar played Kramers, and a few Barettas at that!
George Lynch, Reb Beach, Snake Sabo, Mick Mars, EVH, Vivian Campbell some of my favorite axe slingers that played Kramer at one point.

same, been using baretta special since Jan 2023 and I really feels like it will be my personality for the rest of my life!!

Then you’ll see a Pacer and want that style too!
Great demo again. Jeff LaBar was another great Kramer player.
Going down is still as much fun as it was in the 80's!

Your Kramer videos are some of my favorites!
Yellow 0U812, for sure!

what a cool guitar! I need one of these in my arsenal! Thanks Dagan, great playing as use!!
Mick Mars' Tele with the full body mirror pickguard. Reb Beach's Blue Pacer Deluxe.
It's the little stories and background details dagan brings that put him above all the other guitar channels on TH-cam.

Love the Bumblebee Yellow 🎸
Bought the Ruby Red one about 2 years ago, love it.
Bought the same exact one, and I love it as well! I’ll never get rid of it.
Good morning indeed. Great guitar and player. Love the JB.
Fun Fact: Stephen Edgerton from the Descendants used a kramar Barretta from 86 to 88 to record and tour for the “All” album
Best gtr solo spot I’ve heard since the ‘80s. 👏
Kramer is back with a vengeance! I just put out a video explaining the history of Kramer if anybody’s interested.
I need the black one! Thanks for making me fall in love with Kramer. 🤘🎸

I got the Yellow one, and I've owed a Kramer Pacer since 1983.
My Tele/Strat hybrid is quilted maple body flamed maple neck- don't leave home without it! I call it 'The Dragons Breath'🤘
Great playing as usual 👍👍
I've got the Ruby Red Grapefruit one of these and I absolutely love it ! I had an 86' pointy headstock and a real 85 Baretta..both badass and wish I kept them. like these new colors..Great job Dagan !

“But the early ones were….maple.”
*widdly widdly widdly waaaaaaAaAAH*
Badass.
That yellow one would be getting the OU812 treatment, too cool!
Yep! I saw that at the end, great idea! ⚡️

Seymour Duncan Invader :p
Was waiting for some CC DeVille 👍👍 thank you :)
That yellow is nice.
Ketchup and Mustard. As usual enjoyed the video.
Reb Beach is my favorite Kramer artist. Cheers 🍻
and George Lynch.. a couple guys a lot of people kinda forget they played Kramers.
They have yellow now? I want that. Reminds me of Kee Marcello guitar in the 80s. Except that it was Larrivee.
Favorite Kramer " tamer " is Mick Mars
The real selling point of this guitar is that it's the only maple body Kramer being produced, finally one thats true to the original.
I have a 2013 84 in white and black bullseye, it too is all maple body and neck , what an amazing sounding guitar 🎸
Why does that even matter? It's not an acoustic guitar.
The red one would be a great platform for a 5150 replica bit thst yellow one is striking
Beautiful classic !
Great entertaining demo, you give me a goal to aim for young man😎
Look great and sounds awesome thanks for the vid dagan rocks
You can also get this guitar in a light grey colour. A little bit more subtle than the in your face bright colours.
I'm looking at getting a new guitar and want this yellow baretta but I have the Pink ruby red baretta... so hard to pick If I want another baretta in my arsenal
An oiled raw wood finish, just like the back of the neck would be a cool option. Joe Perry played a raw wood finish guitar.
I just got the purple hahaha

What's the difference berween this model (Vintage) and the Baretta ?
I just got me one of these and the strings are insanely easy to bend I’m use to .46 gauge what string could I use on this? To have a stiffer feel
Hi is it like noisy or more like less noisy guitar? Thanks
Vivian Campbell and the iconic Nightswan for favorite Kramer player! Barretta player would be EVH.
@Henderson Guy It was Peavey Tracer.
Yes Viv's signature was a Nightswan , Adrian actually started with Fernandes FR-120 as his sig. then moved to Peavey and the Vandenberg models .
I’m sad you didn’t play the ebony Baretta🙁
I preordered the ebony and was hoping you would do a review
How do you like the new Strikers?
