- interview & speech by & with John Trudell - recorded for FSTV at the 4th Commemorative Event for POLITICAL PRISONER LEONARD PELTIER, June 26, 2003 - Oglala SD, Pine Ridge Indian Reservation / Oglala Lakota Nation.
Activities began at the gravesites of Joe Stuntz, Anna Mae Aquash,
and Jun Little; the memorial walk ended at the Jumping Bull Property; a
Community Dinner and Concert followed at the Loneman School in
Oglala.
The Lakota Student Alliance and Kansas City AIM Support Group jointly
sponsored the annual event to honor & remember the lives lost during
the 1970s Civil War on the Reservation, to raise awareness
of the unjust imprisonment of AIM member Leonard Peltier whose
incarceration resulted from the fire fight between AIM members
and Federal police agents at Oglala on June 26, 1975.

Am very Honored to have met him in 74 during the AIM trials. Such a humble human being. He was way beyond his years speaking on the INJUSTICES of our Oyate. Raymond Yellow Thunder was the beginning of the uprise of our Oyate, with his murder at an American Legion under scrutiny. Then with Wounded Knee in 73, kept the government up in arms.
