Aahh...the infamous North Texas kick, snare ghosting and ride cymbal finesse class starting at 2:40 - 3:48! Keith Carlock is from North Texas too, and he has that same "perculator" thing in his style :-)
on the album bro, he used a mixture of various cymbals, he just recently switched to al Meinl stuff since the Ground Up project but regardless the cymbals sound great under mic'd situations...hope this helps Peace!
Yea.. It's cool he can do that and still keep the groove but maybe I'm just not able to feel it that well haha. Even the transition into 1:33 he changes the tempo.
i think Sput has become my favorite drummer, hes so slick broooooo
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Incredible drummer...

Beast....band is killin!!!
It's the way he plays this song. Rushing but still aware of the pocket. Amazing musicianship.
from 8:47 Till the end is the definition of 'laid-back' (especially what Michael League and the Horns are playing):D love it!
good drumming
I have wanted a drum cam on this guy for so long for this tune! I got to use sputs kit once on a gig, hes such a cool guy!
The best version for me ( Sput) monster 👏
Dallas stand up! I love Snarky Puppy and Sput's simple but effective playing!!
Sput and Nick work great together!👍🏽👍🏽🔥
mystrodds I’m pretty sure the dude’s name is Nate and not Nick
@@kealanbraden 😂😂
Snare work was great and those cymbals sound fantastic, bands got groove out the ass.
Some of the best cymbals I've ever heard! the drumming is so tasty too
well I really LOVE meinl and i have to say with those cymbal series they made in my oppinion the best for this genre ever !
For Real! That's why I love Meinl's, and that's all I buy.
Dat groove, mmmmmmh
They took us to church for a bit on the bridge
cymbals sound KILLING

There aren't enough like buttons. Get in Sput!
i was killin myself trying to figure out what cymbals he used on the ground up cd things of gold. rich thick dry sound. had to be meinl. amazing
goddam this groove at 3:00
The first seconds of the song reminds me of Mikky Ekko's 'Who are you, really?'
If it was a mistake, there is no answer to your questoin. If it was on purpose, you already have the answer.
Epic as fk
is that a 22" jazz big Apple?
He just knows how to use everything on his kit properly. A lot of people can't so that.
I feel that too at the end. But honestly, I think he's just playing REALLY after the beat. It almost sounds wrong.
Yea.. It's cool he can do that and still keep the groove but maybe I'm just not able to feel it that well haha. Even the transition into 1:33 he changes the tempo.
anyone else notice he's ambidextrous? check out 4:52 and 7:45.
