SAME - First Symphonic Metal song I ever heard back in 2018 and what eventually lead me to Nightwish, Epica, etc...When Sharon's voice just explodes in your ears on that chorus was just eargasm galore!
mixed bag live, been to 3 concerts 1 was brilliant and the others she had no voice left from touring :( for those who go on about her "not having any training" and this being an amazing thing...this is where the training would be of real value in allowing her to maintain her voice through a long tour :D Love their music though and I would go to a concert again in hopes of evening the score lol!

I love the 80's vibe at the beginning (sounds Heart-like, to me). This song would be very radio-friendly, even here in the US. Sharon always looks amazing, but she was really working it with the eyes in this one....and I should be immune to her womanly wiles! But she and Floor both make this gay guy question everything! 😁😆

Sharon is stunning and talented. Floor has phenominal vocals but Sharon is by means any less-bit of a different style though.Bit happy and surprised you have now seen Within Temptation(if this is your first song). Bit of an odd name but amazing angelic vocals!
on these Official Videos from THE UNFORGIVING album, the drummer's identity is covered up as they did NOT know who their new drummer would be as Stephan had left (boohoo) to form his own band, MY FAVORITE SCAR, which went no where and he also aimed to do production... which I presume he is still doing now. Michael Coolen was the session drummer on a LOT of this album, and he is a Judas Priest style fan, as one can hear in his playing at times, ... After these videos were shot, he was then selected to be the new band permanent drummer (2011?) and remains. I do miss Stephan's drumming style thoiugh.
This album from 2011 was kind of different from what they used to do before but it was a nice change. If you liked that one, don't hesitate to hear some of the others, you're gonna like it for sure :)
Mainly because Evanescence is the closest thing to Symphonic Metal in the U.S.A.; same reason Nightwish is compared to them. And it's not like it's a horrible comparison. Evanescence is actually a really good band, and some of the sounds ARE comparable. It's not like they're one of those crappy boy bands that only got thrown together to make money.
