  • THIS VIDEO:
In this video, we are going on our very first roadtrip in our Tesla Model 3 (Standard Range) from Toronto, Ontario, Canada, to Orlando, Florida, USA. We're driving down Highway 401 in Ontario, through the Ambassador Bridge, and onto the I-75 in the USA. Join us as we make our way through Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia and Florida. We'll share our experience charging at the Tesla Destination Chargers along the route, we'll see how long it takes to charge, what's available in the area immediately surrounding the chargers, and show you some of the scenery too! James tries White Castle for the first time, Cate discovers the joy of Meijer - and we share it all with you!
Be sure to like and subscribe, and let us know in the comments what you enjoyed, and what you'd like to see more of in the future!
    ABOUT US:
My name is Cate, and joining me is my husband James! We are from Toronto, Canada, where we live with our two cats, Manny and Tilly. We are childfree “elder millennials” who just love having fun together and filming our adventures. We decided to start this Vlog, mostly because of me! I (Cate) have a bachelor’s degree in Radio & TV, and worked in TV for 10+ years before switching fields - and I was looking for a way to explore my creative interests in filming and editing, but in a fun/not career focused way, and we came up with this channel! It’s now become a super fun way for us to connect with each other - and we would love to connect with all of you out there as well!

Omg Meijer is the best! Plenty of those in Chicagoland! I really enjoyed watching your road trip vlog! Never be afraid to drive with 5% SoC. Tesla are very accurate with their trip planner 😇

Thanks so much! Omg it makes me so nervous to get it down to 5%, but you’re right, it is very accurate. I just need to learn how to trust it! 😂

21:16 I live in Knoxville (not far from Turkey Creek where you stopped to charge at all) and I have to say that I see that car during Christmas time every year lol. That's very funny you just stopped here and ran into him too!

You mentioned a complete shutdown, but you didn't mention any phantom braking? What is your experience with this? If you have had it, how do you handle it?

As of yet, and fortunately, we have never experienced the phantom braking we have heard of. I will definitely update if we do on any of our near trips in the future.

I would charge till you have a 10-15 % buffer to next stop. Otherwise, start that stretch at speed limit and once your buffer goes over 10% you can increase speed and watch it as you go. Set your next supercharger as the destination so the car will precondition the battery for faster charging. If you have a stop that is long like 40 mins, charge there for 20 and go to the next closest one to charge other 20 mins as it’s faster 2-20 mins stop than a long single 40 min stop based on how battery charging curve is. Charge at your last stop for the day while battery warm vs charging in the morning when battery is cold and will take much much longer to charge in the cold morning weather.

Do you prefer the I75 Detroit route vs the Pittsburgh route you took on the way back?

    • @ever.after.adventures
      @ever.after.adventures  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

We definitely prefer the Pittsburgh route when the weather is nice! It’s so much more scenic, and it’s really fun to drive those winding roads through the mountains! I75 is nice because it’s a straight-shot, and there are lots of places to stop overnight - but we do find the drive a little bit more boring.
Have you driven both and do you have a preference?

@@ever.after.adventures I’ve only done the drive one way on the i75 from Toronto or Naples, then flew back. Our next trip to Naples will be i75 south but will do the mountain route back to Toronto to switch it up and make the trip home more exciting,! Thanks 😊
      Love your videos!

White Castle burgers are best enjoyed at 2:30am after a night of drinking. If you know you know lol

We are about to do this trip on January 20th in our Tesla.
Was the cost $230USD or CAD just trying to compare to when we drove with our ICE vehicles before.

Going to Windsor on the weekends is a rite of passage for young people in Michigan because you have to be 19 to drink. That might account for your traffic.

Oh totally! I think that's true of many border towns across Canada! Lots of stories of 19 year old Americans coming up to Montreal to party too! hahah

The gooiness in your white castles is mostly onions. The meat patty is really thin and they cook it on a bed of onions.

Also, for future, reference Georgia and Tennessee and maybe Florida have Krystal which is exactly like white castle.
