It would have to be rated R and movies like that don't make as much money at PG-13. All the Alien movies were rated R and were awesome but when they made AVP in 2004, its budget was so huge they had to make it PG-13 and basically watered it down.

So there is a strong possibility that this becomes a film if Neill makes Robo Cop profitable. Maybe he'll be able to raise some coin to finish the story. You could finish Firebase in about 15 minutes. Rakka could be maybe a 3 film story arc, imho. Zygote would be freaky, could be a franchise!. But maybe there is a entire story for The River God, the mind of Neill Blomkamp, will just nail.

The SCP(Secure, Contain, Protect) Foundation seeks to contain and study the anomalies, resorting to destruction/killing them only if said Securing, Containing and Protecting fail. Because the thing is, "Protect" applies to the Anomalies too. Protecting them from the likes of the Global Occult Coalition, or MC&D, so on and so forth.
GOC however, seeks to just rid the world of said anomalies, regardless of how harmless they are.
There are plenty of other factions too. I mentioned MC&D, which stands for "Marshal, Carter & Dark" a sort of auction-house for the hyper-rich seeking experiences you cannot find literally anywhere else. They sell anomalies.

This is possibly the best thing to come from the decision to branch away from the Execs in Hollywood.
This is the kind of film I would pay money to go see. You guys are awesome and thank you Mr Blomkamp for creating the best sci fi and fantasy films for nearly the last twenty years. This makes me excited for the future of film. I am fully behind this audience funded studio financing. It makes so much sense considering how hard it was for you when you came up with district 9 and no film has come close to emulating the new direction that you are going in. I cannot thank you enough for taking ideas and making the way possible Hollywood to realise that sci fi is a popular genre and with modern techniques any story can be told. You have paved the way for films like Interstellar, Edge of Tomorrow and The Martian.
I cannot thank you enough for bringing a cherished genre to the big screen and making it viable and popular again.
Keep up the good work and I know this will succeed, it's way too good for us, the audience, to pass up.
Wishing you all the best and looking forward to more great, original content. This studio will become the innovators who are ahead of the curve, Creation is going to be peer to peer, more and more in the future and this is simply one example of how successful this kind of sharing will be. Hold on to your hat folks, the future is just around the corner.

You will need to wait until Netflix, Amazon, Hulu or some other company with lots of money sees the awesomeness of this and is willing to bankroll $20 million or more to create a full season, or a feature-length film. Smaller studios like Oats are making some awesome shit but they need capital investment to scale it up. Forget traditional movie studios - they're too bland and cautious to get behind something like this but Netflix, Amazon and Hulu are willing to invest in bold, imaginative and truly scary stuff. Let's hope they do.

But if you want a similar storyline without this issue that maintains the fear of the unknown I recommend you read the Flesh Interface Series (Mother Horse Eyes). Bracken's alternate reality experience came across as the River God giving him a taste of what it would be like for America to be invaded by a technologically superior enemy that spit fire from the air in the 1970s, using the trappings of a hyperpowered Soviet Union, since that's what Bracken and the River God would understand. Interesting concept. The land leviathans instead of seaborne aircraft carriers and VTOL rocket jets with flame cannons were sick. The whole thing had the feel of a live action anime mixed with MGS.
I don't understand why none of these shorts have been greenlit. Can't blame the coof four years ago. Crowd fund this shit. These 27 minutes must have had a micro budget compared to Hollywood crap. A crowdfund with this as the advert would get funded overnight. And then you'd still get to charge people to see the finished film.

@@ladlegs I'm hoping Netflix is just being used as a test bed for them, I saw some of these when they came out on here. Lots of professionals, Blomkamp's crew and passionate film makers behind each of these... by definition I think Hollywood has to treat them like... well, the way they treated his other films. District 9's a masterpiece, I've yet to see Elysium. Chappie's the other? I don't see big studios wanting to fund the "big budget" version of a film school sci-fi/horror passion project, no matter how allegorical. They're terrified of "flops." Limited returns, bla bla bla.
I doubt it's greenlit at all, but I hope the recent advances in FX and small-scale budgeting can get things like this into the hands of willing consumers. I love the concept of crowd-funding a film, because everyone essentially purchasing a ticket is doing so because they OBVIOUSLY want to see your movie exactly as you presented/teased, in advance, guaranteed cashy-money. It's just not practical with the model film studios use right now. Maybe if we as consumers continue to support passion projects and short films, and small film makers are able to make more and more massive projects cheaper, things'll start to change. Best wishes everybody, JustAGuy. Loved you in One Punch and Free Guy, thanks for your hard work *bows*

There's a historical account of then-general Alexander Suvorov sending a letter to Empress Catherine II regarding the Polish uprising of 1794. Instead of sending a whole letter, he sent her these words: «Hurrah, Warsaw's ours!». And Empress simply replied: «Hurrah, Field-Marshal!» So she basically promoted him this way.
