All of them are great but the colourized photo of the Grand Duchess Elizabeth Feodorovna from 1887 is fantastic
True. I have a coffee mug with that photo on it.
She was so beautiful!
She was Beautiful. !
Was she the Tsar's sister?
@@zyxw2000 I think the Tsar was her nephew by marriage.
Grand Duchess Elizabeth Feodorovna is stunningly beautiful!!
Really delighted to see my first wife's grandfather, "Professor" George Burchett, working in his tatooist studio outside Waterloo Rail station in London during WW11. He was famous and tattoed many eminent and royal patrons and was affectionately nicknamed the "professor."
He used his wife as a model and tattoed her from her neck to her toes. She became very self conscious and ashamed of her body in her old age and always wore high necked dresses to hide the tattoo.
Thanks for the amazing photograph.
GREAT pics as usual, and THANKS for leaving the descriptions up long enough to read them AND enoy the pics!!
What a stunning picture of the Grand Duchess!
Really brings history to life seeing these colorized.
I would prefer them in their original form
These are beautiful. What a wonderful collection of photos. Haunting.
really liked the photo of wild bill with his native american performers, but they were all good. thank you for another fascinating look into the past.
The ones of them building what are now iconic structures - like the Empire State Building or the Golden Gate Bridge - those are the ones that really fascinate me! They must have overcome such amazing challenges, and the men working way up in the air with no visible safety equipment...
Five workers died during construction.
That Henderson motorcycle looks good. 😊
Brilliantly presented..
Lovely music 🎶
Some hauntings photos..
Loved it ❤
The Henderson was not a Steam bike as suggested. It had a 1,200-cc, 40-brake horsepower, in-line four-cylinder engine and was called Henderson Model KJ Streamline.
At 16:32 Vladimir Arsenyev wrote a book about his guide in that picture, Dersu Uzala that was made into a film many years later by Akira Kurasawa. Wonderful film.
Uzala, der Kirgise. Sehr beeindruckender Film. Werde ich nie vergessen.
Laura Belle Devlin looks completely unhinged
I sure wouldn't want to be in the same room with her.
What a labor of love you gave us. I could watch all day. Very mesmerizing. Thankyou 😊
These were stunning. Did you colourise these yourself? Very beautiful work
I enjoyed the old photos very much and I liked the captions at the bottom of the pictures with no one narrating. The colorizations were crisp and made for added enjoyment. I subscribed to see more of what you can do with them.
That Groovy French Pod Car" was called an "Automodule".
I greatly enjoy seeing these black and white photographs in color. They somehow look more real and personal to me.
My nan was a WAAC in 1917 loved the photo of the the two women
Thanks for sharing these little glimpses into the past, really enjoyed this video!
The “Bulb Houses” @3:38~ I zoomed-in on the one in the lower left. I wanted to see if that was a person in the window.
Steven King looks like a madman. Great marketing strategy.
The Grand Duchess Elizabeth, she was so beautiful and elegant.
Thank you! Hard to pick a favorite here. Hm the last one from 1848 stunned me though.,want to take a walk there.
The one in Lambeth from 1848? Me, too! A whole different world.
“Halloween in the early 1900s” looks like a photo from a serial killer convention.
Halloween is a satanic. They got the masses to accept it by getting children and candy involved.
Saint Elizabeth of Russia was a very beautiful woman.
Grigori Rasputin was also nicknamed as 'The mad monk' in Alexander's Court
I couldn’t get past the wild look inStephen King’s eyes! He reminded me of Charles Manson ! 😮
I’ve heard he’s afraid of the dark. I would be, too.
funny, I was thinking how Rasputin looked a lot like Manson.
Manson is the last person I’d compare him to.
Yes! Me too!
You're seeing demonic possession.
All were very interesting, some I had never imagined, fantastic
Thank you
That was fabulous
Those old Halloween costumes would scare me and I don’t scare easily!!!
Just brilliant presentation: the selection, tasteful colorization, music. Just mesmerizing. Thank you 🙏🏼
The guy on the Golden Gate bridge....just wow.
I love the photos . Brings me to thought , wondering how so many in these Eras started their day .
Salvador Dali coming out of the Metro with his pet… awhhhh!
Another great time travel experience with no passport necessary
Great video!
FANTASTIC.
I had never heard of (or seen) a personal helicopter -- So 1960's/1970's funky
Another great collection of colorized photographs from the past & music fits presentations! ❤
Many thanks❤❤
I don't usually approve of colorizing but these photos were really well done and it brought them to life. Also, that was not Mussolini being arrested. The gentleman in the photo is too young, too skinny, has a mustache and is wearing a suit. In all the photos and videos I have seen of Mussolini he never had a mustache and he was always wearing a type of uniform rather than a suit. He may have worn them from time to time but I never saw it.
Must agree, nothing like Mussolini!
arrested in 1915, he had a life before his death😊
Heard he and his mistress were shot dead multiple times trying to escape to Switzerland.
I love history, and this was a wonderful look into the past! Thank you for sharing! 🙋
Judging by the photo of Stephen King no wonder he wrote a lot of horror books ! Lol
Yeah, both he and Rasputin have crazy eyes
Very pleasant , thank you !
Really puts things in perspective.
Very cool pics!
Great pix, so interesting, 😮
5:44 I hasten to point out that this is NOT Jane Asher in the photo. It is a costume from Jane Asher's fancy dress costume book 😁
Fantastic! Thank you…❤
While there may be questions concerning certain photo authenticity or mislabeling, that's okay. The chosen music for this presentation is downright splendidly wonderful. 😊
Wonderful photos.
Pretty cool channel, learned something new in every video.
On 11 april 1915 Mussolini was arrested After an assembly given in favor of Italy intervention to WWI.
GD Elizabeth Feodorovna was by far the most beautiful of all.
Some very stunn8ing images. Food for the cultural anthropologist.
Who is the piano music ? So beautiful and very calming
Fabulous!!!
The very last one of the car that looked kind of like a boat. I always enjoy these old photos thanks for posting
Nice!👍👍
Photo of Mussolini: It was my understanding that Mussolini was captured while trying to escape Italy dressed as a woman.
I believe what you are referring to was his attempted escape during WW II.
I thought that when Mussolini was captured at the end of his life, he was dressed as a Partisan and trying to escape Italy with his Mistress?
@@chrisgreek4285 yes he was but that photo is from 1915- it is in the caption
@@bennylawrence6221 You are absolutely correct and I was mistaken. Thank you for helping me! ❤ 🇨🇦
This is when he was arrested prior to his rise to power
The Dymaxion by Buckminister Fuller! OMG so beautiful!
history has never looked better if you ask me
Fantastic assortment of photos. Not sure about the one of Mussolini though.
I’m kinda confused about “Jane Asher’s dress 1983.l was that just the name of the photo? Or the name of the butterfly’ish costume that old man was wearing? And why and where was Benito Mussolini captured in 1915? Yeah…I’m kinda confused…
Fancy Dress is a sort of costume party so the caption refered to the costume, I think.
@@morticiaaddams7866 well, it’s as good a guess as any! Thank you! 🙋🏼♀️
That was Mussolini during WWI, not WWII.
@@zyxw2000 thanks for that clarification.
I had never thought of Robin Williams as more than just another celebrity.
Now when I see photos of him, it’s different.
Shortly before his death, about 2 or 3 months, he came to our neck of the woods in MN.
He was going to attend
Hazeldon, which many celebrities have gone to for treatment.
On the way there, he stopped at a local coffee shop that I actually used to work at, and grabbed some coffee. He signed autographs, posed for photos, chatted a bit, then continued on his way.
These photos are hanging in the coffee shop.
All was quiet for a while, then news of his suicide came out. 😕
Just ❤Robin Williams
i LOVE THE MOTORCYCLE..
Were the horses buried during volcanic activity???
Yo Newark Ohio is my hometown. There’s more interesting stories here than just this one with Laura D. If you want to see some haunted places this is the place. Check out the old jail on 6th Street. Very nice thanks for sharing.
The vehicles and helicopter grande!
interesting!
That 1944 photo of the Kyoto couple really makes us think about what probably happened to the man. Beautiful photo. And the Amsterdam photo of the horse and carriage. Would love to have that one framed!
Man, I agree about the Amsterdam photo. That was so beautiful and eye catching!
Great picture of Indians and Buffalo Bill.
The Kyoto wedding girl was so pretty!
Wow. The real - REAL Stephen King. - Nice contrast with the Grand Duchess.
Stephen King all coked up. As he said he doesn't remember writing his first 10 books or so he was so hugh and drunk.
Beautiful to see history in colour. The good and the ugly parts of our past. Love your work, you have a new subscriber, and I will share, share and share. God Bless 💓🙏
@4:30 All that time spent on her hair and her nails and her jewelry ... so much attention to her appearance ... while her mustache and unibrow are in full view
I enjoyed the photos. In the future, please make captions a bit lsrger. I could barely read them with a magnifying glass. By the time i got focused, the caption disappeared.
you can pause the video to keep up... I do that sometimes when I get distracted or if the writing is too much and goes too fast.
12:10 Elizabeth Feodorovna. Oh my! What an exquisite picture of an exquisitely beautiful woman. Jennifer Connelly and Monica Bellucci are now tied for #2.
Frida's photo might of been the actual color.
She was one odd duck.
@@susanmcintyre5377 She was a great artist.
The title says colorized photos but some of them were taken in color so was a little confusing
Which photos were unsuitable for children? LoL😂
Sir Ian couldn’t find both shoes?
At least the music is pleasant enough. Not like some of these where it’s just some weird, low rent, sounds that make you want to stab someone in the ear. And good grief, I knew Stephen King is a strange guy, and loves to give that eerie hard look for effect, But jeez man, the unibrow and the Charles Manson expression is just too weird even for him!!
WHOA! Stephen King’s picture of his first press release, is actually pretty terrifying! LOL 😝 With his unibrow and crazy eyes, he looks like a mental patient! What a difference time makes!
What wouldn't you take a photo of?
Italy officially entered WW1 on 24 May 1915
On some of the pictures i doubt the text is correct. (Eg. Old woman in "Berlin" and the text on the house behind her is English, or "Moussolinis" arrest.)
But nevertheless, some pictures are breathtaking.
Елизавета Федоровна прекрасна
these are great , but are you trying to make me feel old with the photos from the 80's? colour photography was pretty commonplace by then, although in books there would still be a mixture of colour and black and white to keep down printing costs. The first colour newspaper in the uk came out in 1986 which shows how established colour photography was. edit - just seen there's some 90's too I find it very hard to believe that these weren't colour photos to start with....
Looked so uncomfortable!
It's really photo? 😯
Fyi, anyone curious, Dali's anteater was fake. 😂
The photo of Mr and Mrs Nutter, was it just me or did she look like Greta Thunberg?!
no
Mrs Nutter photo, is , he is mine, stay away look 😂
I know, right? She looked a little bit possessive! That’s kinda nice. 🙂
The "futuristic" cars and vehicles! Slimline? I think not! 😊
Good thing you could colorize those photos from the 1980s...
THE PICTURES COULD BE A LITTLE FASTER.. WE can READ FASTER..LOL
