When you mention the joy you keep when it comes to your children, it made me think about a quote from Emily Wilson. People always tell her that her hands are full when they see her with her kids and her response is, ‘if you think my hands are full, you should see my heart’ 💜 such a positive way of showing that your kids are a gift and a joy to this world

    Best video yet!
I loved how I got so convicted and teary eyed with you while you were talking about getting so angry and making life harder for your kids and how you talked about just stopping and looking at their little hands. This was such a beautiful message in every way. I have listened to this about 4-5 times. ❤️🤗

Milena, I’m sitting here in tears… because I wish more than anything I had mentors like you when I was a young mama. How different that journey would have been for me. God bless you for sharing your words and wisdom.
Although my children are no longer little, I am still a mother and can guide them in the same ways as they figure out the world as preteens/teens and young adults.

After a particularly terrible day of mothering yesterday, I really appreciate this message. I especially liked the way you talked about repenting to our kids when we have fallen short. Being deep in the stage of littles, (almost 2, and just turned 4, with another one on the way) this topic was exactly what my heart needed. ❤

Wow, when you said “it wasn’t the kids who were the problem, it was me! I was the one who wasn’t slow to anger. I was the one who wasn’t slow to speak” that really stuck with me. I’ve been studying the fruit of the spirit and really trying to work on self control. Bc if k have self control then I can better be gentle and patient and kind with my children. I will always love them, but struggle with self control when I’m feeling flustered or over stimulated. That leads me to getting angry and saying things or overreacting to my two year old acting her age.

Thank you for making these videos! I personally don’t have a mentor within the church right now and so your videos have been a wonderful substitute in the meantime. You have completely changed my perspective on my marriage and raising my children. I always see a difference when I consistently listen to your wisdom. Could you please consider making these videos an audio on Spotify? I love your podcast AFM+MH but I’d love to be able to listen to your personal videos as well. I block lots of apps on my phone (including TH-cam) to be more disciplined and It would be so helpful if an audio file was available. Thank you!

Milena it’s 100% okay to feel frustrated, angry, overwhelmed, overstimulated from mothering. It’s how you act on those feelings that matters. It’s not realistic for anyone to stay cheerful and calm 24/7. God wouldn’t have given us this full range of emotions if we weren’t meant to experience them.
It kind of feels like you’re being very hard on yourself. Sleep deprivation sucks and it’s okay to admit that. It doesn’t take away from the fact that you ALSO love the time bonding with baby boy.
Feeling frustrated from the noise level is super valid and ≠ a spirit of ungratefulness for your babies. Some of us are extra sensitive to sensory input. Not sure if you have tried Loop earplugs? They soften noises & are very discreet vs big headphones so your kiddos don’t feel like you’re blocking them out. They just take the edge off and help you to remain more regulated.
It’s not always that we are sinning or have the wrong mindset. As women and mothers we often put *our* needs dead last but one must be well taken care of in order to take care of everyone else. This should include recognizing our triggers and trying different things/systems to minimize them.
You’re doing great and I hope you can see that! ❤❤

What a beautiful video. I binged watched your videos and I love them all. Especially today, I was really down and sad even while I was reading my bible I was tearing down. I lost 5 babies through missed miscarriages. I went through all 5 of those after 16 weeks. It was painful both physically and mentally. I have a beautiful and healthy 4 year old. But I still question and get sad about all of the other babies I’ve lost over past 3 years. But this is a beautiful reminder to me how lord has blessed me with my only son and forgave all my sins that I done with or without knowing. This reminded me children are a blessing and I have 5 more of them waiting for me in the hands of Lord and I know they all are so blessed by the gracious Lord 🙏

I’m a child psychologist (without kids) who serves in children’s ministry and the Lord convicted me a couple of months ago about not leaning on my own understanding and knowledge. I have truly learned parenting is a constant reminder of our complete and utter dependence on the Lord ❤
It is also refreshing to see a mother committed and enjoying her call as a mother & wife. I am waiting on the Lord for a spouse and my own children ( which I’ve always looked forward to) but have been recently hearing alot of discouraging things about life without a family being the “happiest.” So, thank you for sharing & being a light!

Love the part where you said that though we now have knowledge of psychology and research and child development, which have indeed helped us immensely, they have almost become a replacement for God’s wisdom and truths of mothering and fathering. As a Christian whose career and expertise is in the field of child development and psychology, I can say without a doubt, this is 100percent true and something I myself tend to struggle with as a mom.

I totally respect your idea to keep your home and even more importantly your children’s out of the videos. And I don’t think you ever should show them.
But the voice over videos feel too random and aren’t as engaging as actually seeing you talk into the camera or with the camera. Maybe this is an individual preference but I may have to unsub and not watch anymore videos if they will be like this from now on. Is this just me?
Either way my prayers are with you and hope you guys are enjoying life! 🖤

God… i always thought i will be the best mom i could be, especially because i know what is it in the Bible… but why i am failing so hard??? I yell, i scream, i get angry everyday, i am bad… i am praying EVERYDAY!!!! And nothing changes… i cry every two/tree days because i can’t stand myself…. I cant explain to myself what is happening to me, why the enemy is wining over me…. Im not the mother i know i could be!
My child is 1.4 yrs and if i cant calm myself with 1 child how i am supposed to take care with more? Has someone been in thia hard and desperate situation? What helped you, because praying isnt helping me for now and i am scared to not traumatize my beautiful boy :(

I would highly recommend seeking counselling/therapy. Also give yourself grace. You aren’t failing. You’re struggling!! Parenting/mothering is hard

Change the environment. Can you get out of the house more? Activities? Engage with other moms?

May you talk about how you like living far from the city? I’m thinking of moving my family a bit far from the closest major city. I just gave birth recently and have been wondering how it is raising kids out in the countryside.
