@@InSearchofPhysicalMedia I do own almost all of them on 4K, except for Child's Play and Creepshow. I'm not a big Child's Play fan, and with Creepshow, I'm probably not going to upgrade from my previous Scream Factory box. I hear the 4K looks outstanding on Creepshow, but I'm just not personally into the film enough to upgrade it (I do like the film, but just not as much as other Romero films). Plus the old SF blu ray set is pretty awesome, with the rigid side-loading slipcase and booklet, etc. Although I like your idea of combining the 4K with that earlier packaging. That's probably what I would do with this title as well if I were upgrading. BTW, sorry to hear you got a scratched-up disc on that one... I can totally relate. Scratch Factory indeed! That does seem to happen a lot with them. It's one of the main reasons I don't order from SF directly -- Amazon's return process is easier and a lot less hassle.

I’m not a horror movie fan but this was an interesting video. When i think 80s horror i think jason and freddy-the campiest of the campy ones 🤣 But THIS video brings up a whole lot of high quality horror movies from the 80s; ones that i totally forgot about! This video makes me want to go back and watch these. They’re not before my time because I’m familiar with them, but they are before my time because i was born in 1983 and I was supposed to be watching this kinda stuff at my age back in the 80s 🤣

👽ALIENS is a big wishlist 4K Restoration on 4K UltraHD💿 along with The Abyss & True Lies! But it would be a shocker if they truly ever get released on 4K simply because those films have 2 very bad factors working against their 4K releases: Disney & James Cameron LOL!!!😅😂🤣 But we can only hope!🤟
Alligator is a classic so please it had a good 4k transfer will by it once i get a 4k tv setup. I wouldn't say poltergeist is a horror more of a supernatural haunting film but its a good film. Shame Evil dead didn't have a good 4k release then going by your review as you didn't mention it on here.
Great choices! Poltergeist is one of my all time favorites! Love all of John Carpenter’s films. Fright Night & Lost Boys both are personal favorites as well! Alligator is a special film for me as I knew the late great actor Robert Forster, who was the coolest guy ever! And my good friend and collaborator produced Child’s Play, which is great fun!
Agree with the quality of Creepshow, though the scratching report scares me, I'll have to check. Every 4k disk on my Fast and Furious box set is unplayable out of the box, I think the pressing is just defective. It really sucks

Love Fright Night, but was very dissapointed with the transfer....more grain than I like and soft....Christine has grain as well, but in comparison, it looks very tight and just a sharper looking film.
Had to cancel my order of children of the corn trilogy. The trilogy set includes Children of the Corn, Children of the Corn II and Children of the Corn III, with the first film on Region Free 4K disc and the sequels on Region 2 Blu-ray discs.
I bought the Children of the Corn but there must have been a problem with my disc. sent it back and stuck with the blu ray. Fright Night looks beautiful but has that audio issue during the club scene with the dolby atmos. Love the list.

Probably not actually a favorite movie of his (like me). Same goes for me with 1982's "The Thing". I.e. it would be on my list, but it's not on his. The list is just his PERSONAL favorite movies.

The Shining and The Thing have to be there. Two horror classics with two stellar transfers so they meet your criteria. Pet Sematary also should get an honorable mention.

🤔Have you ever owned Children of the Corn 🌽 on the previous home video releases like the old Anchor Bay Blu ray release?❓ The film had been badly handled, stored & treated very poorly & had severe film damage throughout the film & looked & sounded just horrible on ALL the previous home video releases! It’s always very important to understand the original film elements & what’s actually being 4K restored, because Arrow Videos 4K restoration of Children of the Corn 🌽 is a complete revelation for this film as it’s always looked horribly poor previously with sooo many bad image & sound quality issues that plagued ALL previous releases! Yeah i know how it is with this movie and why. I got VHS tape of it 😂 but you said it should be amazing image for 4k. It's great pq for this movie sure but not for 4K. That just my opinion. Same thing for Hills Have Eyes 4k these films just cant look any better.

@@InSearchofPhysicalMedia I only bought CREEPSHOW blu-ray last year...before the 4K was announced. Still considering it. Probably none of the others here will be 4K upgrades for me. Been buying these fucking titles continuously since the 1990s LOL.

I don't own any of your top ten but have seen most down through the decades on vhs and/or cable/streaming, but a couple I am definitely interested in owning and have in my future buy list, particularly The Fog and Children of the Corn, in great part thanks to your excellent and intriguing reviews. Another fav in my top 10 would include The Thing.
I’m not a horror movie fan but this was an interesting video. When i think 80s horror i think jason and freddy-the campiest of the campy ones 🤣
But THIS video brings up a whole lot of high quality horror movies from the 80s; ones that i totally forgot about! This video makes me want to go back and watch these. They’re not before my time because I’m familiar with them, but they are before my time because i was born in 1983 and I was supposed to be watching this kinda stuff at my age back in the 80s 🤣
Great selection of films, But only own three on 4k. Saw all of them in the 80s and few in the theaters too.

Fun video topic!! I’ll have to upgrade my Twilight Time blu ray of Christine! It’s a truly underrated gem. Creepshow, Children of the Corn and Fright Night (I’ve never seen it). Oh, and Alligator! I hear it has an awesome extra with Bryan Cranston, unfortunately, I haven’t seen that one either.

👽ALIENS is a big wishlist 4K Restoration on 4K UltraHD💿 along with The Abyss & True Lies! But it would be a shocker if they truly ever get released on 4K simply because those films have 2 very bad factors working against their 4K releases: Disney & James Cameron LOL!!!😅😂🤣 But we can only hope!🤟

Great list. If I had to nitpick, I'd take out .. Phenomena ... and replace it with .. Return of the Living Dead. All great 4ks tho!

Alligator is a classic so please it had a good 4k transfer will by it once i get a 4k tv setup. I wouldn't say poltergeist is a horror more of a supernatural haunting film but its a good film. Shame Evil dead didn't have a good 4k release then going by your review as you didn't mention it on here.
I do like a lot of the movies you chose. Great choices. I love all the Chucky's though. Some I need to add to my collection.
Great choices! Poltergeist is one of my all time favorites! Love all of John Carpenter’s films. Fright Night & Lost Boys both are personal favorites as well! Alligator is a special film for me as I knew the late great actor Robert Forster, who was the coolest guy ever! And my good friend and collaborator produced Child’s Play, which is great fun!
Robert was from Rochester where I am. Great actor!
Agree with the quality of Creepshow, though the scratching report scares me, I'll have to check. Every 4k disk on my Fast and Furious box set is unplayable out of the box, I think the pressing is just defective. It really sucks

Frightnight is 80s classic ....unfortunately the 4k is not available and very expensive.
How come The Shining from a 4K Blu-ray is not number one in your list?
Love Fright Night, but was very dissapointed with the transfer....more grain than I like and soft....Christine has grain as well, but in comparison, it looks very tight and just a sharper looking film.
Had to cancel my order of children of the corn trilogy. The trilogy set includes Children of the Corn, Children of the Corn II and Children of the Corn III, with the first film on Region Free 4K disc and the sequels on Region 2 Blu-ray discs.
I heard some rumbling of Nightmare on elm street ('84) COMING TO 4k. Any news on this?

I like Horrormovies but i dont like Splatter and Gore. My favourite Horrormovie is Poltergeist.
I bought the Children of the Corn but there must have been a problem with my disc. sent it back and stuck with the blu ray. Fright Night looks beautiful but has that audio issue during the club scene with the dolby atmos. Love the list.

Probably not actually a favorite movie of his (like me). Same goes for me with 1982's "The Thing". I.e. it would be on my list, but it's not on his. The list is just his PERSONAL favorite movies.

The Shining and The Thing have to be there. Two horror classics with two stellar transfers so they meet your criteria. Pet Sematary also should get an honorable mention.

But it simply didn’t fit what I was planning & going for with this video because The Thing always felt very strongly to me more like a Sci-Fi film than just simply a straight forward 80’s Horror film! Though I’m planning on talking about The Thing 4K again in a future unique video I’m already working on with a much broader range & scope of films!👌 As far as The Shining goes it is simply NOT🚫 one of ➡️MY⬅️ FAVORITE Horror films from the 80’s & did not qualify compared to all these other amazing quality 80’s Horror films I love ❤️ on 4K UltraHD💿, as I had explained all of this in depth at the beginning of this video!👌

I'm shocked you didn't have s rean factory Halloween with Dolby vision. I thought that was transfer.
I was suprised that Children of the Corn make this list i think it is worst release by Arrow.
🤔Have you ever owned Children of the Corn 🌽 on the previous home video releases like the old Anchor Bay Blu ray release?❓
The film had been badly handled, stored & treated very poorly & had severe film damage throughout the film & looked & sounded just horrible on ALL the previous home video releases! It’s always very important to understand the original film elements & what’s actually being 4K restored, because Arrow Videos 4K restoration of Children of the Corn 🌽 is a complete revelation for this film as it’s always looked horribly poor previously with sooo many bad image & sound quality issues that plagued ALL previous releases! So the 4K UltraHD💿 release by Arrow Video is massively the BEST Children of the Corn 🌽 has EVER looked on home video & is a great 4K UltraHD💿 release of a film that has always previously looked horrible due to all the bad film damage!

Yeah i know how it is with this movie and why. I got VHS tape of it 😂 but you said it should be amazing image for 4k. It's great pq for this movie sure but not for 4K. That just my opinion. Same thing for Hills Have Eyes 4k these films just cant look any better.
