We never talks about the glottal stop in our sprogskole 🤷♀️ which is a shame because it makes a huge difference! I found it helpful to check the pronunciation symbols listed in Den Danske Ordbog, for example for "får" : [ˈfɒˀ] where the ˀ is the stop. I can't "fluently read" the pronunciation symbols, but I do find it useful (when I remember to check at all) to check whether or not there's a stop at all, and if so, where.
It's so helpful to listen to how people speak even if they are not native but still speak a language on a good level. Thank you for this video, it really helped because I thought I wasn't supposed to sound like I've got a hiccup :D

“Man” ends with the tongue at the front of your mouth. You can hold it “mannnnnnn” … But when you say “mand” your throat closes at the back and the sound cuts off.

I'm a beginner and I thought this was a great way to understand what the stød is really about. Could you maybe give more examples of consonants? Is the stød ON the consonant, before...after...? I can't hear it yet. Thank you!
I think it’s on the consonant. It’s like closing the back of your throat at the same time as doing the normal consonant. It’s very hard, I’m sure I get it wrong more often than I get it right! Good luck!

A popular news podcast is Genstart. 20-25 minute episodes going into detail about current news stories. However, I have not listened to it.. One podcast I listen to a lot is Sara & Monopolet. It’s a weekly show every Saturday where Sara chooses 3 somewhat famous people and they discuss dilemmas sent in by the audience. The vocabulary is usually quite simple, and they spend around 10 minutes on each dilemma so you can just listen to as many as you want.
I actually listened to a Genstart podcast on my run today. It was about Nanna Skov Høpfner, who has been given two years in jail instead of one, because of the so-called "double punishment" thing because the protest was about Corona. The case has caused a lot of controversy lately.

"Stød" can mean many things. It should not be understood as shock in this context. It is better understood as "push". You push out the word. A Dane.
