Compared to our last 3 mowers, (going back 20 years) This one looks easy! I'll have to check my Hubby's swear meter reading when he tries. :D THanks for these videos! Please keep them coming! :)
To make it easier to move out I cut 2 schedule 4 pvc pipe to the size of each board. Then after unhooking everything I replaced the boards with the pvc pipe rolling the deck out . Worked like a charm. Ps I removed the discharge shoot to get more room.
On my Ikon XD can I downsize from a 52" deck to a 42" deck? I just bought the mower last year and will have a smaller yard now so If I could just swap decks out that would be great.
Thanks for asking, Jimmy. The chassis of all Ikon XD models are identical, so this may be a possibility, but we can't guarantee it. Our recommendation is work through your nearest Ariens dealer. They'll be able to advise you, and order the deck assembly for you if they conclude this is a viable and safe option. after removing the deck, remove the blades attached to the spindles you need to remove then there are 4 bolts on the underside that hold the spindle in place. after the 4 bolts are removed the spindle freely pulls out the top
When jacking the front of mower, do you jack from the front frame or deck to get access to the blades? Also, do you leave the hydro locks engaged or released when jacking?
Great questions! Always have the jack contact the frame when raising the mower - in this case, the front of the frame is the best spot. Also use jack stands and refer to the safety section of your operator's manual when completing service. Additionally, keep both the parking brake and the transaxles engaged when jacking the front of the mower.
@@AriensChannel greatly appreciate the quick response. I’ve been looking for a clear answer since buying the mower this summer. Great mower by the way! Thanks again.
I tried to remove the nut with a long wrench but could not loosen it so I started thinking like you maybe it is a left handed nut. It's a pain as you have to raise the deck high enough to get your impact gun and socket under the nut. You will have no problem then.
These mowers are junk. I have less than 40 hours on mine and have broken 2 drivebelts and have a leak from the right side transaxle. Even though it is under warranty I can't get any help with the issue. Terrible customer support. Buy anything but an ariens

I have experienced fine support from Ariens. I am disappointed about my belt getting jammed between the pulley and the spindle. Seems like it would be easy to pull out but the belt ended up getting cut. I am satisfied with Ariens though as I received new parts.

Wish my ikon52 looked that clean!🤣

Excellent idea on the PVC! Thanks for the tip!
I just had my iKon 52" Limited (2023) delivered today. Is this the same deck removal method?
i believe i have the same as you. looks similar if not same. How did it go for you?
Very well done! Thank you.
How heavy is the 42" deck?
What is the width of the mower with out the deck tire to tire?
When the mover is on, I am trying to turn PTO Blades on, and it's Clicking but won't work. What does it mean?
Thanks. This one great mower. It has turned my lawn into a golf course.
You're welcome, Ed. Glad you're happy with your IKON XD!

Having trouble removing the blades. Are these backward threaded? I tried both ways and it's really not budging.
Use an air driven impact socket
Don't know if you resolved your issue yet but I had to hold the pulley on top to get the nut holding the blade on to come out

53 hours on mine so far. Hasn't missed a beat!
How many wheels are on a 60 inch Ariens zero turn mower and we're are they located.
