Love this card for casual edh but it's just a hard to cast 4 mana creature that does nothing for it's first turn cycle so i think sadly it'll just have to stay casual
The fact that this happens in your pre-combat main phase means that you can assemble ad nausea him through personal tutor, imperial seal, ET see. Pretty cool, hard to say how good this would be since it is an expensive engine to get online from the command zone though, and you typically don’t want to hold tutors that long
4 pips for a commander is horrible in cEDH. It also has to provide something unique to other 5c commanders. So basically, is this card providing something better than Najeela , Kenrith or Sisay? Omnath is an engine Najeela is a combo outlet + pressure Kenrith is a combo outlet + card advantaged (also one of the few haste enablers in cEDH) Sisay is an outlet + tutor
I don't think this is quite as good as alternative 4-5 color commanders in cEDH. The card is powerful, but so are Kenrith, Najeela, Codie and the various Food Chain options. That said, someone could definitely build a deck and win with it.
I'm not sure if it's good enough but I want to try it out. U can also flip dooms day and cast it for free. And in ur pile if u need to make a pass go pile you can put cruel bargain on top to dig through the pile for free. Again I'm not sure it's good enough but I'm gonna have some fun.
The way I built it is thassa demo but also just tons of ramp and counter spells so basically I just save up tons of mana for an x spell while countering anything I need too, would that be good enough?
