Great show guys, I second Bill’s recommendation of Firewatch. If you liked Edith Finch (which takes place not far from where I grew up!), then Firewatch is a great complement to that experience.
I have bounced around all the hand helds. legion Go, Rog, Steam deck...I went back to the deck. Got me an OLED LE and just dual booted it so I could still have game pass. Just a combination of comfort, ease of use and the amazing company that Valve is. I SO look forward to Steam Deck 2 in the future.
I just ordered myself a steam deck oled which I should have by the end of the week, but how was the Rog ally? Because I’ve been thinking of picking up the Rog ally x as well.
@@williedee1003 don’t mind it. Great device even. Just isn’t ergonomic I love the grips on the SD. Also, I don’t like how asus handled the sd card fiasco. TBH, I feel the x was only created to avoid handling the sd card issue head on.
I had a commute like that for 6 years. I tried to go to school during that time and I couldn't hack it. Gave up a school cause the bills needed paid. Mad respect to those who can balance all that with kids! 💪
While it’s not a neither nor, I’ve been labeled autistic by people throughout my life, but ADHD actually runs in my family, and explains a lot more about my hurdles. To wit, I struggle with getting interested in world building and outlining… and then I don’t even start writing the stories that I envision and want to share with the world. 😭
Also, given your unfamiliarity with a wide swath of games, I think it would be fun to see you livestream gameplay and talk about your impressions of games big and small.
Up your alley, I’d recommend Return of the Obra Dinn. And, I’ve played Demon’s Tilt in tate with a Flip Grip on my Nintendo Switch, and I’d love for Xeno Tilt to join it. Cult of the Lamb is also one I’ve been meaning to play. But, for a roguelite with story, Hades is stellar, and its sequel is in early access on Steam. Another classic indie is Hyper Light Drifter. I’ve also been meaning to play FF12, tho 6 is the one I’m most likely to play any time soon, with 13, 14, and 16 also being enticing. And, if they ever get relisted in Steam, I highly recommend Transformers: War for Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron. 🤓
Honestly, I have learnt zero technical stuff about my Steamdeck which is so unusual for me, I have literally only bought and played games since it arrived.
I tend to like your content, but I couldn't make it through this one sadly. It's in no way a reflection on you or your guest and maybe I've misinterpreted what this podcast is actually about, but the "content creator" talk is a snooze fest. I understand that getting two youtubers together to chat inevitably gravitates towards talking about making youtube videos, but I'm guessing most of your audience are not content creators and find it unrelatable or uninteresting. Hopefully this isn't coming off the wrong way and is constructive to some degree. Feel free to toss it out the window if I'm off base as well.
The deck was just too weak for my tastes and tbh the weird fanboyism that surrounds it turned me off. I wanted the rog for 2 reasons. It was the top at the time and also VRR is a game changer especially for these machines the like to hover in the 50s for bigger titles. VRR is far more important that OLED to me for these machines and it is weird Asus is the only company to have a screen that supports variable refresh rates
I think all handhelds support vrr except for the legion go. I have the launch steam deck, and there’s a native toggle to allow tearing. Either way I’m still loving the steam deck, idk about the fanboy stuff since I’m new to pc gaming, but the support for it that changes and add so many features is so mind blowing to me. It feels like a console with so much freedom I’ve never thought possible.
I have to agree with you regarding the freedom. It’s simple to use too. As someone who doesn’t want to fuss too much (I just want to play games). Fandom is a thing, but it’s throughout the PC gaming scene. Guys have strong opinions about boot speeds and refresh rates and frame rates… god forbid you play a game in 30fps)
@@adinwalls 😆 its a fun discussion. of course as a console player, I understand fanboyism lol, but none are perfect. But If steam os ever comes out, I’ll be considering all the powerful specs and get the best of all worlds if I can
No sir rog ally is one of the few if not the only one to have vrr . I know for a fact the Deck, go, gd4, etc dont have it120hz vrr is not really the same as no tearing. You'rejust locking it to the screens refresh rate which isnt the same. Vrr is important to me as well because these things cant handle big games at higher fps so vrr helps with fps when it drops to below 60 and stays in the 42is to 60 range. Also i think why the deck is so popular is because it is easy to use for console guys and streamlined while offering a tiny bit more freedomthan a console so to them I could see the appeal and not wanting to deal with windows. For me and i guess op the freedom a true windows handheld offers is unmatched. I can put up with the kinks of windows to access that freedom. Freedom of use has always ranked above streamlined experiencefor me. I like having a tiny pc on the go and eaily jumping between gog, epic store, steam, xbox gamepass. I believe there is a way to acces streaming gamepass on the deck but that sucks so that is another huge issue for me. Even though I have 400plus games on steam I want to be able to download my games from other clients. Like I said, valve is going after the console guys who realky just deal with plug and play and thats fine, but thats why many get other handhelds because they dont want to be limited. I do agree about the fanboys though, so many SD fans question why get anything other than the deck and there are numerous reasons. I think that too comes from being a more console audience because that shit is crazy in the console world. Probablymore so than pc. That all being said I will for sure keep an eye out for the next deck. I just didn't have use for this version due to no vrr and weaker gpu/cpu @fhdez91
Thanks for having me on man. Was really fun!
It was indeed. Thanks Bill!
I didn’t know about this! O.O Bill you were on another podcast?
@Leopardeye hehe. Yes I thought we needed a behind the scenes of the man… the legend 😊
Heck yeah! Bill is such a good dude and a great podcast host and his beard is majestic!
I invited him for the beard
This was so real and honest. I loved it. Thanks for being vulnerable and sharing your stories. It was a huge encouragement.
Thanks Bo

Hey Russ, okay great. I will play Firewatch next. I love that whole Edith Finch world, so cozy.

Yes definitely well done to Bill for that.
You have the best guests! 💚

Hey thanks for engaging here. I will check out those recommendations today
Love your Videos Aiden and Bill😃🤍
Oooh I love Bill’s videos and his podcast. This guy knows his steam input stuff. I learned all my steam inputting skills from him =D
Honestly, I have learnt zero technical stuff about my Steamdeck which is so unusual for me, I have literally only bought and played games since it arrived.
@@adinwalls I recommend Bill’s comprehensive steam input videos. There are a whole series of them.
@@crystal_is_cozy Oh, DEFINITELY! It's very helpful!
Tom Segura x Max Holloway
Oh man, Cursed to Golf and Cult of the Lamb are both amazing
Yes I actually thought of you with those.
