    Geoff, I must admire the quality of this video. BUT ..... you need to get Don to show you how to add running commentaries. That's the difference ...... Don's offerings are really informative ..... pure gold.

      Agree, most of us already know the path, but at least it is necesary to add "captions" in order to show those people who don't. (e.g.: stations names) Very nice images! You can! ;-)

    Great day for it. I lived in Huddersfield 40 years ago and regularly travelled to Manchester Victoria. Remembered the really long Standedge tunnel near Marsden.

    Some very demanding people in the comments 🙄
    Those who want to see captions as good as Don's, see Don Coffey's you tube channel there is plenty of trips over this route.
    I'm happy to see without captions, see more of the route rather than trying to keep up with them!
    Keep up the good work 👍🏻

    The new electrification with the overhead wires that ends after Manchester Victoria towards Huddersfield. I was thinking if Network Rail could of continued on electrifying to Leeds and to York via Church Fenton and to allow electric & Bi-mode trains to operate from Manchester Piccadilly and Manchester Victoria to Leeds and York using 25kv OHLE.

    • @bfcmik
      @bfcmik 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think Summit and Standedge tunnels make that difficult for either trans Pennine route, not insurmountable in either case just expensive. The government recently reneged on their promise for "Northern Powerhouse" rail projects such as electrification between Leeds and Manchester.
