A BEAUTIFUL BUT SAD NARRATIVE which had shown the real kind of LIFE in the Philippines before and after the Independence in 1946. Power and Politics is still the same at the present time. I think it is even worse and deadlier now a days. I don't know when will a person appear to straighten all these wrong doings, a person who is strong, transparent with conviction, clear purpose with accountability in life and in the work place. The great Nida Blanca nearly won all the Best Actress awards that year. Her road to grand slam glory, however, stopped at the FAMAS when she lost to Vivian Velez who won for Paradise Inn. Nida was honored by the CMMA, PMPC, FAP and Urian (in a tie with Gina Alajar (Bayan Ko/Kapit Sa Patalim)).
Both Viva and Solar share the ownership of this film and all other films from D'Wonder Films (including its most notable and memorable films topbilled by Niño Muhlach and later Aga Muhlach).
