Yo Seth: Video tips: 1) When you're traveling to Amsterdam, Argentina and elsewhere in Europe, etc., they don't have 60Hz power. The lights are going to be further out of sync with your camera shutter speed. Try adjusting up or down to line up with multiples of 50 instead of 60. Maybe your camera has a "frequency scan" feature? Maybe you can switch from NTSC to PAL? The generations of Canons you have weren't known for their super video capabilities, and not being a Canon gut myself, I don't know all the specifics for them. 2) You use autofocus on the Canon, right? The way it 'zooms' in and out when you're close up (your hands get close during reviews or when you're making tea) is a bit distracting. I'm not sure what Canon calls that. I hope I don't sound rude; I love you all... But your videography is always Soo soo good, especially the running montages, that these tiny tweaks would help a lot. I know you like marketing, videography, business, so I know you'll take this not as criticism but helpful. Beauty. Love. Butter.
I can confirm, I'm living in peru right now and nobody really high-fives strangers. Between male friends there's a small high-five to fist-bump, but other than that it doesn't really exist
Great job team USA and Seth. The race looked fun. My challenging rainy race.Pine Mountain GA 19 miler last year with my adult son. It rained from start to finish and it was around 40 degrees. The low point was a lightning storm about half way. Good news, it was fun running with my son, well at least starting with him, he ran much faster.
Most difficult rain/mud race was an October fest invitational around 2005. Northern Virginia. Beat a lot of runners I shouldn’t have to win a race with over 400runners in the varsity male race. Was a total slop fest and I’ll never forget when Joseph tessema told me I ran like Jesus across the mud. He went on to crush me in track. Running close to 9:00 2 mile later that year. Won from the smallest school decision against the largest schools in va. What a great day that was. But I won in around 17:30 for a 5k at great meadows. A course which usually has one big water crossing. It had rained so much it had 3 water crossings. Lots of big hills. Deep grass. With thousands of runners. = total mud slop. Course was gone. Thanks for the memory dive and great race Seth!!! Footage was awesome. And worth it.
Ojalá algún día puedan volver! feliz de haber visto tantos corredores mis favoritos Hayden y Mario Mendoza 💪Villa La Angostura-Neuquén Patagonia Argentina saludos
It is what you do the day after a race...you get up get dressed and go for a run. Great job for your efforts, Seth. Really enjoyed the race footage - take a deserved break and come back kicking in 2020. We'll be watch and rooting for you!
He said the other day he invested in a super light weight gopro. Based on what we know about Seth, I'm sure he took it very seriously. He loves the sport. Go Seth! USA
Hi, Lars from Norway here. I am new to your channel, and I love it. It's great to see your devotion to the running sport I love so much. Great idea that you don't want to be sponsored, so you can test and use the gear you want. And great to follow your training, travels, races in combination with the family life! And well done with this race and hope you can taper good for your next race, so you can qualify for the American trials in february! You deserve it!!!
3:43 and I was complaining because it was going to rain in my last race... QD: My most difficult mud/rain race was one that started in the beach and there was a little and narrow pass in order to go from one beach to another. The sea level was quite high so I ended up with my lleft leg up to the knee inside the sea. Crazy but nothing impressive compared to yours! Congrats for the race Seth! And don't worry because you didn't get a top10, but keep in mind that it's a World Champs, you are not racing against your neighbours! Congrats also for team USA's second place! Amazing performance!
Seth I want to thank you for my Richmond Marathon results today. Last year I ran a 3:29. Started watching you TH-cam channel right after and this year I ran a 3:12. I think a decent amount is because of your training tips! So I just want to say thank you.
Boston 2018 was an unforgettable race. My first Boston in the worst of conditions. Thanks for filming your race Seth! It was so cool to watch it from your perspective.
Yesterday's race, was my almost home race. 28 km under a strong rain, lot of mud ad few river crossing. I crash twice and fell into a puddle until my knee. I was fighting for a good position but from halfway I enjoyed the race jogging and chatting with some friends. Definitely not my day but I learn you can't always be full gas, sometimes it can be good to take it slower with friends. Thanks Seth, you're inspiring!
QoD - Similar terrain as this race, but much longer. North Country trail races 13.1 26.2 50k 50mi (Manistee, Michigan) . Single track bike trail with very limited passing areas, and tons of nasty weather every time I've ran it.
What a fucking amazing vlog entry. It literally brought tears to my eyes. I used to race all the time. I wish my body would hurry the F up and get “fast” again. Whole lot harder in your 30s than your teens and 20s.
Congratulations Seth & team USA! Would be nice if you’d be able to talk a bit about your teammates & the team dynamic. And it’ll be amazing if you can get a short Jim Walmsley or Joe Gray interview for the channel!
Oh the night! It’s was one year ago my team of 8 ran 155 miles on the Appalachian trail. It was a 30 hour race and we each took 3 legs during all hours of the night my 3 legs were 7pm, 2:30am and 10 am. It was 30 degrees but doable until the rain/sleet/ and snow flurries came on , of course, my 2:30 am leg. Just my headlamp and windbreaker to break through the elements. 8 miles on the frozen trail I told myself NEVER again would I do this race. 24 hours after the race I was signed up for next year! I love this crazy sport!!
Seth, that river crossing and runners log-jam afterwards was epic. Thank you for representing the USA so well both on and off the trail! It’s always exciting to take part in your journey. Surely a trip to remember. Your family has got to be super proud of you. All the best Seth!
Great video! Joe is King of the Mountains, congratulations to him and Team USA for bringing home the Silver!!! Seth, let's not forget you're not fresh, nor really trained for this event, as you were focused on the road marathon ( completely different training). We're all proud of you and your effort. Mud is tough, no doubt it was a factor.
Boston marathon 2018 without a doubt- everyone knows the story 🤪 Congrats on the great result at WMRC! How do you run a tough race AND shoot great video! Amazing all around . Thanks

You’ve inspired me to go for a sub 3 marathon next spring. I start training in 2 weeks. In the past year I’ve ran a 17:38 5k a 1:25:17 half and a 3:55 first marathon. I hit the wall badly on the marathon and fear the pain I went through. Time to conquer the fear
I can´t believe you travelled to Argentina last year Seth!! God, next time I need to make it to there so I can meet one of my favourites athletes!! Really, you´re such an inspiration, and I hope that you can come back to Argentina in the future, I think you may have a little fan crowd here! Cheers from Entre Ríos, amigo!
Looked like a fun race Seth! I just ran the Wooler Trail Marathon on Saturday. It was my first marathon and fancied a challenge! The rain has been insanse the last week or so, causing the organisers to enact the 'bad weather' route which was still insanely slippy, muddy and soaking! I estimate 20 miles was running through water! Oh, and I came 6th so was pretty pleased with that haha!
Man you are doing so well with your channel. I remember when you had 1000 subs! Awesome person and an awesome channel. You are an inspiration and you are a really impressive runner!
QOD - Portland Oregon at Nike cross nationals(5k), mud was inches deep in spots. Day before previewing course In trainers had to walk a lot of spots just to avoid slipping even on the flat ground. We had to put in 5/8 spikes for the race and those are massive spikes. Anyways a crazy muddy course down in Portland, true cross country.
These Argentina videos are totally solid! Way to make my day. It's like im there, running in the woods, jumping in the stream.. and "fueling" with my Hawaiian pizza 😆😆
Oh my goodness, just loving the music score on this one! Most epic mudbath was at a cross-country race in Switzerland maybe 13 years ago. There was a freak snow storm, cancelling public transportation and making it near impossible to show up. I managed to get there late (running to the star line is never ideal), and without spikes, slipped and slid all over the place, ended up head to toe in mud, with a second place to my name. So funny even thinking about it today.
Wow great wild run. Congratulations! Just finished my first marathon gulfbankmarathon here in kuwait today, was aiming for atleast 5:30-45 but finished it 4:44.23
QD: Without a doubt muddiest race I’ve ever ran was the Texas state cross country meet in 2016, we had super unseasonable rains that whole summer and the course got rained on for two days straight before the race, and the morning of the race! Turned what is usually a dry grass golf course into a giant mud pit with multiple river/stream crossings, you would sink down to your ankles in the mud before you got any sort of grip, probably the toughest 5km cross country race I’ve ever ran but also without a doubt the most fun!
QD: Today!! I ran my first rainy, cold (for South Carolina), & windy Half Marathon this morning. It was actually a lot of fun. It totally took the edge off of the prospect of having to run distance races in inclement weather. I’ve been inspired by your vlog to give blogging a 2nd chance, so I actually posted a vlog about today’s race 😃
RAGNAR Snowmass 2019. The intermediate loop had a nasty climb and there was a good section about 40 feet long of the most sticky and slippery mud I have ever encountered. You would at times go up and then slide back down past from where you started. Crazy time.
Amazing Seth this is so cool - of course I will be in Denver tomorrow and monday so my timing sucks. So proud and excited for you in this - how awesome is it to rep the USA in a meet and to get to do it with your old team mate Andy Wacker! QOD: My first 50K was a loop type race in the woods I think it was maybe 8 or 10 laps - and it started thunder and pouring so much so that they stopped people from running - problem was I had one more lap - so after stopping and thinking for about two minutes I went and ran the last lap to make sure i got it done
Congratulations, Seth and Team USA 🇺🇸! 👍👍 QD: Muddiest race...The Bear 100 in 2016. Epic mud, ice, even snow! Nicknamed “The Polar Bear” by all in attendance. Thick, slick, sticky mud on almost every section. Memorable for sure!
Way to represent Seth! Congrats brother! QOD Marine Corps Marathon this year. Hard rain all morning, mile 23 it stopped. 4 hrs 33 min finish time, quads were done at 13 mile. Ouch!

QOD: 2007 World Mountain Running Trophy race where I also finished 25th...and I did not run NYC Marathon a couple weeks before. Keep being awesome Man!
U.S. Cross Country National meet in the late 90's in Oregon. Wet, raining and extremely cold day. At the end we had to have people help take off our spikes. To frozen to undo our laces! :)
Hardest mud, Oklahoma State University Jamboree 2005 XC meet, 8k. Poured all night. Lights went out. About 2 feet of water on the backside, sticky mud on all the hills and about 400 runners per race. Biggie.
Let’s not forget that not long back Seth was out of action for a few months! Superb comeback in a short space of time

Hardest mud, Oklahoma State University Jamboree 2005 XC meet, 8k. Poured all night. Lights went out. About 2 feet of water on the backside, sticky mud on all the hills and about 400 runners per race. Biggie.
Glad it's not just the UK that is getting a deluge
