Males mocking other short males is very common and unfortunately they target the hate towards the tall women who choose the guy, which historically has been a reason why some women grew up to avoid short men, because they become the target of misogynistic hate from these males who believe the woman is trying to be 'the male' in the relationship. Just a lot of bullshxt beliefs.

The irritating part is how self conscious society has made us. We really analyze every part of ourselves to fit a mould that who the heck knows created. It’s so stupid. All these stereotypes are annoying & affect our lives. We can joke about it or brush it off but for some it really messes with them psychologically & the world taunting them or the topic just makes it worse. That’s really sad. We’re just people. The only mould we should fit is being kind to one & other. The end.

A similiar situation is in dragon ball, where vegeta and friezza are the small but strong ones, compared to Nappa and Friezza’s henchmen, i know they’ll all male, but still, a kind of similiar thing. I don’t care about stereotypes, I just wanna see something new, which often means breaking these stereotypes, like making the shorter, younger girl the master or superior over the older, taller man, something star wars could really use more of, why I like the nightsisters so much, cause they’re dominant compared to the males. And more young girls would benefit greatly from experimenting with sex and alike with their girlfriends, without feelings or friendship involved, cause they’re usually the more mature, but more nervous with such things, so doing it with other girl friends instead of waiting for the boys to mature, or doing it with some older dude would make a lot of sense. And you don’t have to afraid of getting pregnant. I’d definately do that if I was a girl, cause other girls also know way better than boys how to best satisfy other girls.

I actually agree with Jacob when he said that he's surprised that this is even a conversation. This is a normal thing and we should treat it as such. I was surprised to see that she even spent 3 minutes on this topic, like it's so unnecessary. Same feeling as praising a chubby person about their confidence in their weight; like why are we praising tomdaya for being a normal functioning couple. Yes they're not misogynistic and that's the bare minimum. The day we stop applauding people for being normal decent humans is the day we evolve as a society. Why can't we just treat differences as a NORMAL THING? THEY ARE.

I think Jacobs point was more along the lines of "it's disappointing that we have to have these conversations" because it should have already been treated as normal but it wasn't and so now we have to make a point of saying this is normal and couples can look like this just to combat those stereotypes

    • @evolutionofwords
      @evolutionofwords 2 ปีที่แล้ว +14

The issue is that we don’t treat it as normal. People actually live their life by ridiculous social constructs. Also being chubby is a conscious choice for most as opposed to being short or tall is not. It shouldn’t be stigmatized. Sadly people lack morals and we clap for anyone who is a decent human. It’s just life & it was a good thing that she brought it up. It helps other ignorant or impressionable people. They were happy she brought it up also. They thought they were going to get the same crap, put on a fake smile & give a rehearsed answer instead of just speaking their truth.

It sucks that people in this type of relationship get ridiculed and looked at sideways because it’s not seen as the “social norm”. Love is love at the end of the day-like who cares. I thought the host did a good job of addressing that it doesn’t just affect the male, but the female as well when she alluded to her own personal relationship. To you, the male is mocked by women as being short….but on the other end, the female is also mocked as being a giant. The host spoke on behalf of herself AND her husband. She said that she’s taller than her husband and they get those ‘looks as well’. And she goes on to say it’s “ridiculous and offensive” and that “society should be setting a better example for the younger generation” when they see things like this because it’s completely normal. It’s not something that should be mocked or laughed at. But again, that just how I saw the interview. You’re free to hold your own opinion or take on it.

There is so much research on the biological and evolution explanation for y’all men desirability and a lot mention how it taps into the primal brain of most women to be attracted like that due to years of evolution. I think it can also be social becAuse being tall is associated with masculinity which lowers the sexual value of women but increases men’s while being short tended to increase the sexual value of women and decreased men’s sexual value as it is associated with femininity. Study shows both and women don’t take short men seriously, and they don’t view them as a “threat” which is why men desire short women because according to evolution it makes her less threatening. @shemale_barbi you are wrong women liking tall men is a social construct that has been going on for a hundred years and perpetuated by Hollywood and the global film industry. Biologically speaking two men of the same weight but of different heights will have the shorter man being stronger than the taller man so in actuality shorter men are more masculine than taller man to a point however society has indoctrinated iitself into believing taller man are more desirable. P.S all your favourite actors are 2-3 inches shorter than they claim in google that's just another wat Hollywood perpetuates its lies

@@danielayeni2392 My advice would be to let go of the stereotypical idea of what a "man" is. There are so many different qualities that can make you attractive, height is just one (very superficial) thing. Focus on building up parts of yourself that you actually like.
Regarding coping - you don't cope. Coping is when you try to come up with excuses to deal with your insecurities. Better to just accept that some people are shallow and learn how to love yourself anyways. And surround yourself with people that aren't.

I've always been the talest among my peers ever since, it's bad enough that I'm overly conscious of my height already, but the fact that people around me treat me differently is making things worse. I remember that I used to be the only one grouped with the boys for class photos because I'm too tall to be with the girls, always made to stand at the end of the line whenever we had to line up. I understand some of the reasons might be practical but being treated that way since I start pre-school is contributing a lot to my lack of physical self-esteem.

It's starting to get cringe when people mention their height difference. Its like people want them to break up and not be happy together, even though these two are obviously great for eachother. Society has a habit of ignoring their envy to make themselves feel better by pointing out something that's different because they think it's a weakness to bring someone down.

It sucks that 5'8 men is considered short by many in our society. Tom even said he is "quite" short here. It really makes me feel like a midget, cuz I'm only a 5'3 man. Dating is really hard cuz most girls are same height or taller than me. From my experience most girls would prefer guys to be at least same height as them when they're wearing high heel. Girls 5'0 that I met for some reason love dating guys a whole head taller.

0:33 The host called this, "such a misogynistic thing". It's actually the polar opposite; society is going after the man, not the woman - poking fun at Tom Holland's short stature. The premise above is insane. Height is not an accomplishment.

there’s a ton of Women on Twitter & TikTok that say Short men is unattractive & they don’t view them as potential people to date. So it’s still a problem in our society sadly. People would rather focus on the outer appearance more then what’s on the inside.

Incredible that this woman has actually made herself believe that the stigma is on tall women, not the short man. Tall women get to be athletes and super models for their height. Short men just get laughed at by women and picked on by taller men.

@@djuules school is not the real world. In elementary school I used to get picked on for having goofy hair. So what? In the real world, there’s a direct correlation between stature and professional success. Taller women make more than shorter ones. Studies have even broken it down to income increases by the centimeter, even though stigmas when it comes to short women are not as bad as they are in short men.
On the other side for example, I have a friend whom I’ve known my whole life and he’s 5’4” and his entire career has been a struggle because those in power don’t take a man who is shorter than even most of the women at the office seriously.

@@johanfalk2875 People who blame their struggles in adult life on their height need to maybe take a look at themselves. I'm 5'6" yet its never held me back. I've been in my industry for almost 7 years now, promoted 4 times, won several bonuses and quarterly prizes for merit, always get great feedback from supervisors and clients. Lots of the women in my office are taller than me, yet I have great relationships with all co-workers, men and women, short and tall. I'd imagine your short friend is self conscious about his height, which maybe then effects how he treats the world. Saying you aren't successful whether its in business or relationships, purely because you're short is a cop out.
