FYI Dan, there is an option to turn off baiting when doing battle analysis on pvpoke. In single and multi analysis, you go down to options, open it, and it’ll be near the bottom. For matrix, it’s readily visible above IVs. The default is set to selective (which seems like it could be inconsistent and misleading) but you can turn it off across the board while doing an analysis
I think what's happening at 30:50, is that steel wing is a 2 turn fast move whereas air slash is a 3 turn fast move and your damage registers before the last counter from Scrafty when it wouldn't on air slash. Once again another reason to hate on slow turn fast moves.
It's gonna be awesome to have icy wind on Poliwrath I'm ready to swap ice punch and have two charged moves that can lower attack Oh and scald having a higher chance to lower attack is great for him too
One of the biggest strategy changes for talonflame is that you’ll be able to just go straight flame charge to capitalize on the incinerate buff. I think both fly and brave bird will be used less now
Could also be the fast move timing. Air slash is 3 turns and steel wing 2. This alone is a huge buff. When I was watching the video it seems skarmony dies in 1 shield with air slash loaded energy because scrafty just kills it before it can use it. @DanOttawaPOGO
Big downgrade. Same stats as icy wind but I would much rather take lowering opponents attack than buffing yours because articuno is too glassy plus lowering your opponents gives more flexibility of forcing them out to reset.
Thanks for the breakdown down. Things I was wondering Double air talonflame? Covered! Psychic Medi, still good? Covered! Ninetales, S.Poli, Ultra Jelli, Sussink Covered! New season looks good, except for the same as old season feeling. Still Have to plan against lanturn, Medi and Flyboi core😂.
Have already been using medi with Dynamic punch this entire season, and with great effect. Just need to build differently. That said, are we getting a retro cup team vid?
had a thought about the skarm vs scrafty dilemma....does steel wing being 2 turn vs air slash 3 turn allow for more fast moves and therefore an extra sky attack to be thrown?
What about Froslass with icy wind vs avalanche? I ran the sim and it seems to pick up a LOT more Ws. Wondering your thoughts from a usage standpoint, though
Skarmory with Flash Cannon instead of Brave Bird may actually be even better because BB is such a bait dependent move. And with Flash Cannon, you actually flip the non-HP Azu matchup in the ones.
I have a Great idea First we had Cofagrigus, then a new region introduced Runerigus Next they should make Coffeegrigus, and he's a broken coffee mug possessed by a ghost 👻 ☕
Ive been asking for a boost to fire spin since i started playing. I could see that people used to use mons with fire spin a lot. And i mean yoj can clearly see a huge hole in the use of fire mons. Awesome that theyre tring to bring fire back baby. Sterl double charm can sniff my butt!
Medi will be less of a generalist now but still super good. Acts more as a fighter.
i love these videos dan, the longer the better!

Thanks for the high quality uploads as always
i first thought why is it long as a podcast but now after seeing this vedio this has been the best and informative gbl podcast i've ever seen
Ha, well thanks. People seem to be enjoying the longer videos
Underrated Goat ! These videos are far more entertaining and informative ! Bro covered everything 🤘💯
I try. Thanks for noticing

Ah, makes sense
I enjoy these videos far more than playing. Cheers Dan
Ha, well thank you
30:30 it's 2 turns vs 3 turns of SW vs AS. Skarmory wins with 2 hp.
All this info is so helpful, thank you.
Could I theoretically still play medi as a swap in with an ABB double fighter team? 🤔
Best PVP youtuber by far!
Should I tm away ember on my rank 20 shadow ninetails then?
Suicune is surprising but at the same time not surprising. That pokemon has really good bulk, and it's always been held back by it's moveset.
These updates honestly are making me look at ultra league again. Hope you guys are having fun running sims and plotting. Cant wait for San Antonio!
What’s happening in San Antonio?
Do you think icy wind would be an upgrade for arctibax? Avalanche is nutty damage but it's also a lot of energy.
Glad to aee Suicine better for UL. Ive had a shadow one for a long time but haven't had a reason to build it
Poli could also use dynamic punch tbh. I don't think you need icy and scald as both reduce attack.
I would go scald and dynamic?
It's gonna be awesome to have icy wind on Poliwrath
I'm ready to swap ice punch and have two charged moves that can lower attack
Oh and scald having a higher chance to lower attack is great for him too
Yeah definitely going to be tough to go against

Agreed. Any neutral matchup, unless you are trying to KO to end the game, you probably just flame charge to buff incinerate
Love the long form content
I powered up my Swag approved Azu-Slayer Medicham. Flipping the matchup against Azumarill was great while it lasted.
Vigoroth rock slide vs bulldoze would be interesting to look at.. rock slide is generally better, but then vig has no charged moves to hit steel
31:00 I remember winning against skarmory with scrafty in the 1 shields. Its becuase of the damage increase is what I saw.
Could also be the fast move timing. Air slash is 3 turns and steel wing 2.
This alone is a huge buff.
When I was watching the video it seems skarmony dies in 1 shield with air slash loaded energy because scrafty just kills it before it can use it.
@DanOttawaPOGO
so, what about the Medi Slayer!? no good anymore I suppose
Hey Dan, what are your thoughts on triple axle on shadow articuno?
Big downgrade. Same stats as icy wind but I would much rather take lowering opponents attack than buffing yours because articuno is too glassy plus lowering your opponents gives more flexibility of forcing them out to reset.
Thanks for the breakdown down.
Things I was wondering
Double air talonflame?
Covered!
Psychic Medi, still good?
Covered!
Ninetales, S.Poli, Ultra Jelli, Sussink
Covered!
New season looks good, except for the same as old season feeling. Still Have to plan against lanturn, Medi and Flyboi core😂.
I think if incinerate is now doing so much damage, you want to try and boost it as much as you can in neutral matchups
Have already been using medi with Dynamic punch this entire season, and with great effect. Just need to build differently.
That said, are we getting a retro cup team vid?
Yes I'll do a top retro cup team as well tomorrow
had a thought about the skarm vs scrafty dilemma....does steel wing being 2 turn vs air slash 3 turn allow for more fast moves and therefore an extra sky attack to be thrown?
Maybe
Should I tm away ember on my shadow ninetales then?
I would prefer just to build a second. I hate TMing away legacy moves
What about Froslass with icy wind vs avalanche? I ran the sim and it seems to pick up a LOT more Ws. Wondering your thoughts from a usage standpoint, though
Froslass is getting triple axel not icy wind
As noted above, it's triple axel not icy wind and triple axel doesn't help compared to avalanche
🤦♂️ I misread the graphic. Sorry about that
Skarmory with Flash Cannon instead of Brave Bird may actually be even better because BB is such a bait dependent move. And with Flash Cannon, you actually flip the non-HP Azu matchup in the ones.
I've thought about FC on skarmory. I'll definitely be playing around with skarmory early on.
Dumb question: These updates go live tomorrow (December 1st)?
Yeah December 1st when the season turns over (4pm EST here)
Thanks Dan.
Is Ninetales picking up Rock Slide Vig?
No idea, I'd have to run the sim
Been sitting on a 0/15/15 poliwrath for ultra time to build it
I think so
I have a Great idea
First we had Cofagrigus, then a new region introduced Runerigus
Next they should make Coffeegrigus, and he's a broken coffee mug possessed by a ghost 👻 ☕
Sinistea rn: 😭
Or a pile of grounded coffee beans that’s full of shi- 😂
Are the changes already out?
No, tomorrow (Friday) at 4pm EST. Basically 31 hours from this response.
@@DanOttawaPOGO Thanks, I was misleaded by the changes in the loading screen and stuff
If you turn baiting off on the Talonflame, the records dramatically shift
Truth be told I’d rather just watch Dan than run another 2/5 gbl round. 😂
run the 2 shield with jelli...
I fought against a pup, psychic medi yesterday with my medi already being chipped. Still won the zero.
Yeah you can't take away its bulk
I think the point of trailblaze on greedent is for the carbink match-up
True, otherwise it has nothing
Ready for these new move buffs/nerfs 💯
Honestly I’ll still be using psychic probably
Where's Sandslash?
Good morning Dan
Good morning

Double steel charm is ok but not steel double charm.
👍👍👍
jelli with bubble beats scrafty and goon... big win..
Yeah not surprising since it's so bulky and fast charging
Hey
I think the problem isn’t that medi is too good, it’s that they killed all the pokemon that beat it
Restore noctowl and trevenant
🫡 Thankyou sir
