Since his 76er days, Jrue has been one of the most complete players I’ve ever seen. A real all-around point guard.
Bro y'all better stop this😂 he is not like that in the playoffs he's good defensively yea but acting like he's good all around is crazy he's on the team with Tatum brown and kristaps u saw how easy he got buckets because of who he's on the team with easy layups
The jruth
That sixers squad got dawg in them. Upset the Bulls in 2012 and took the Celtics to 7. Iggy, ET, Lou and Jrue were all gutsy
@@JakePurdy-qk9ybhe’s locked up Dame in the playoffs before and now Kyrie. That’s just to name a few. Booker as well
I like the way he scores from under the basket, with two defenders behind him.
Stephen A didn’t even list him as a champion when he said Kyrie was the only starter with a ring
Exactly I’m not letting that one go
The disrespect is wild
When jrue went to the Celtics i instantly knew two things. 1, Boston was winning the chip 2, bucks weren’t winning another championship.
Yeah
Brad Stevens made sure to get him his extension before the playoffs... smart move
Giannis used to be humble. After that 2021 Finals, he began to believe the hype. He thought he carried them on his back for a title. Then he thought he needed a better coach and a better wing man (Dame) to get back. Now he’s got a streaky shooter and an overrated coach who only has 1 ring because he had the first 3 Person Super Team (08 Boston). Jrue Holiday is so underrated. He is the key to the Bucks winning the ring in 21.
Go head and add Chris Middleton! He was balling in the playoffs.. lol they was calling him “the Batman” of the team😂
There's no evidence that Giannis was responsible for any of those moves. He made a comment on twitter or something after Budenhoelzer was fired that seemed more aimed at the front office for having fired him and the media ran a mile with it.
Just say you havent watched jrue since 2024, didnt need a whole paragraph
Nothing but facts
dont need to put down giannis to prop up JRue especially when both weren’t healthy for the playoffs
Jrue Holiday is under-appreciated; especially when you compare him to his peers...
Jrue Holiday vs Damian Lillard
Championship Rings: 1 vs 0
Finals Appearances: 2 vs 0
Playoff Head-to-Head: 4 vs 0
All-Star Appearances: 2 vs 8
All-Defense Selections: 6 vs 0
Top-75 Selections: 0 vs 1
We'd find a similar setup when comparing Jrue to: (a) Russell Westbrook; (b) James Harden; and (c) several other combo-guards
Good analysis
Alot of those are team accolades tho… we all know if we picking a team we selecting everyone you just said first over holiday although clearly he plays a huge role
Jrue is just a winner its that simple.
Fr
Jrue has always effected winning. Even on the Pelicans, he was locking people up. I knew when the Celtics got him for nothing the league was in trouble.
Bro did not effect winning on the pelicans they were trash
Stop. Boston played every easy team imaginable
@@jahiesa5056it’s the way he plays on each team. I mean he was also on the sixers before that too and only later in his career has he gotten his recognition
@@jahiesa5056nope. The Blazers, who the Pelicans swept, were trash, even with Dame.
Facts. When Jrue Holiday and Rajon Rondo were the starting back court for the Pelicans in 2017-18, that was arguably the Pelicans' best season in the AD era. Holiday said he learned a lot from Rondo as well.
He's the perfect player. Does everything on the court well, a leader in the locker room, has no ego. Man, what a great fit for this team.
He's a defensive wizard.
Uncle Drew can't handle Uncle Jrue!
😂😂 I made Uncle Jrue first before I saw this comment
Holiday is not underappreciated cuz he won the teammate of the year award many times ... either him or it was conley lol
Mike conley a dawg too fr
Bro my comment was literally conely and holiday are the 2 most under-rated and appreciated players in history.
@@kendallfach7020facts he's been my most under-rated player because he gets even less praise then holiday but them 2 for sure. Derrick white I've been saying for years now as well. Now people are coming around to how good he is a little more.
I love how the narrative for weeks was the "full strength Celtics had an easy path playing teams with injured stars" and Porzingas's absence was hand-waived as no big deal. Now it's "OMG! Losing Porzingas could be the Celtics' downfall!!". SMDH.
I just love Jrue Holiday, so composed and team oriented. Pure class
Just remember, he was on SIXERS, then was traded away to start 'The Process'
😅😅😅😅😅 yep.. let me finish 'THE PROCESS FOOD'
Drue has always been under appreciated. He is an all star who never gets picked. But plays his role as he should and top defender.
He made allstar twice
Happy birthday 🤙🏽. Definitely with the right team his full potential shines
Milwaukee needed him. If Boston wins, Jrue is what they needed, too. Great player.
Love Jrue absolutely! A player every coach would love to have on their teams. Jrue is Jimmy butler type of player with no dramas🎉. All sports need more players like him.
I always wonder why NBA teams (there are multiple by the way) favor a PG who dribble the ball for 18 seconds every possession, chucks up 30 shots a game, and plays lazy defense rather than a PG who is a facilitator and plays defense. Jrue deserves his flowers
Is it just me or does Greeny's monologue about Jrue to start the video remind you of 'The Jump' hosted by Rachel Nichols? I was a big fan of that show.
Can't be under appreciated when everyone constantly appreciates him
Can be under appreciated when he just got shipped out of milwaukee to get dame. It literally means that the bucks didn't appreciate him enough to give him his due credit for his role in their chip and keep him around.
@@eeph4eva They shipped him off because he was underperforming in the playoffs. Stop it
@GodfreyTheCreator he had one series of guarding jimmy butler, a forward who is much bigger than him, not very well. He was the second best player on the bucks in the finals against the suns. How is that underachieving? You stop it.
@@eeph4eva He was not their second best player in those finals, Kris Middleton was the second best player. Holiday was bad. But you must've forgot he was terrible against the Celtics in 2022, forgot he was terrible against the Bulls in 2022, forgot he was terrible against the Nets in 2021. You can probably point to 1 or 2 series where he was somewhat decent. Again stop it
@@eeph4eva Conversely, Portland and Boston traded for him.
He is very underrated. Bucks still messed up not keeping him.
They traded him for expired Dame Time.
@@knockout9446 Dame is a great pick up offensively. But Jrue is definitely an all around playmaker. He’s great off the ball too.
He isn't underrated in any aspect. He's widely known as best perimeter defender in the league
@@MikkiChavez *behind Kawhi
@@Jopsksprdvakf yea Kawhi 5 years ago
If you can have a role player at each position AND a jack of all trades (like Holiday) THAT’S what makes a team unstoppable.
Meanwhile Monica McNutt is still missing..
thank you!!!! If Holiday continues to perform as is, it would be completely idiotic to give mvp to anyone else. He impacts the game soooo very much and i'm glad at least some networks are recognizing him!!!!!
Stop popping on the P&R Derrick Jones Jr and cut / roll to the basket so the offence isn’t stagnant, way better looks
D White is more slept on
Best Celtic of all time
Greeny is a G for this take. Jrue is top tier, been saying it for a long time.
He reminds me of Dennis Johnson
Jrue is Solid AF! He is a Christian with the strength from above.
CJ looks like he agrees which proves the point
Jrue bout to pull an Iggy and get that FinalsMVP
What a ferocious defender! What a handle and nose for the rim in the paint. I think of him as a well sharpened Swiss Army Knife. You want something done when other guys are having a bad night? Jrue Da Man. He is the ultimate team player. Seems like the Cs have a few of those.
I think he is the most underrated champion.
At One Point , about 5 years ago. Jrue was My Fav Player... He's matured since his Philly days
And he is a humble and nice guy.
Thank you Milwaukee!!! They gave him away to Portland, and the Celtics got him for nothing. Dynasty in the making!
He’s not great or flashy at anything but he’s good at everything so that’s what makes him great. Whatever the team needs at that moment, he can provide it
Well said tbh there is nothing on the floor he can’t do
I said it last night, Jrue was my MVP. Jrue controlled that game from start to finish playing both ends of the floor...his patience and iq is on point.
In my eyes he's has been a star for some time now and was my favorite player on Bucks. He reminds me of a smaller Igudala in every regard, and in this series he is playing the same role and having the same results as Igudala did when he won finals MVP guarding Lebron. When he got traded from the Bucks I said now the Bucks went from having 5 great defenders starting (no holes) and now they have a huge hole on defense in their starting 5. Iso on both sides of the ball is addition/subtraction, but team strategy is multiplication/division, so the Bucks were tripping and the Celtics were smart as heck...
Jrue has been solid everywhere, even carried the Pelicans when they had injuries.
Im glad this is just an appreciation segment.
I also left a bunch of comments on youtube and i may have tweeted that drew was a bigger loss, than the gain of damian lillard for the bucks. Their defensive fall, outweighs their offensive gains.
I always saw it as jrue was the guy that never had his face on the busses or posters or the headline in the tnt commercials, but behind closed doors hes the guy the other team is game planning around becuade he has that much impact
Holiday Is the real uncle jrue!
He's underappreciated. Remember last year when Inside the NBA didn't have a highlight reel for him when he made the all star.
Been a Jrue fan and have thought he's a top 5 guard in the league for 11 years. What's sad is that Harden and Westbrook will make the HOF and Jrue won't , but he is a much more impactful player for winning than they are.
Competes on both sides of the ball can give you 20 or defend the other teams best player. Doesn’t complain when he doesn’t get his shots. He will figure a way to contribute to the game. Great player!
HE IS A ALLSTAR AND ALLWAYS HAS BEEN.
Please leave Jrue out of mainstream BS and let him ball quietly like he prefers.
Happy birthday Jrue!!! I was sad when we let Smart leave. But I was also really happy when I heard we got you too!!!! You locked down one of my fav player Dame Dollar in your years against him. I knew you would be a beast for us from the get go. I wanna thank the whole Celtic's staff/manager/owner etc. for getting Holiday. Such a brillant move👏👏👏
It's a crime that they didn't ask CJ to speak about specifically the Pelicans vs Blazers serious when Jrue and Rondo locked up CJ and Dame 😂😂😂😂
I am happy Boston has him
A star that gets no criticism and gets to play with no pressure
Ppl forgot dame got locked up by holiday. 😂
I still can’t believe the Bucks traded Jru for Expired Dame Time!
Jrue is older than Dame lol They needed a perimeter player, trading for Dame wasn't a bad thing even though it hasn't worked out yet because of injuries.
The only issue was Jrue going to the Celtics, which the Bucks never expected.
He makes $35 mil a year. It’s clear the nba doesn’t underrate him
Luka will make 70 mil without playing defense😂
Hes a star not everyone has to be a superstar. And I consider him a utility player - baseball doesnt have that title locked down. He can do many things really well.
Jrue been a key piece on any team he is on. The bucks got that ring becasue of him. A true PG.. like Rondo
I like Holiday, but why is there no love for Jalen brown, again?
Comparing his 25 PPG and 10 RPG with 75% shooting to historic GUARDS is weird. Comparing these stats to historic BIGS/CENTERS makes them look crazy efficient!
Even though I can't be any happier for Holiday, what I don't like is celebrating too early. This might get in Celtic's heads.
Who didn't know porzingas was gonna get injured it'd the most physical time of the year😂
❤🔥❤🔥JRUE HOLIDAY SEASON❤🔥❤🔥
I love this segment!
He’s the one guy in 2k who never failed to get me a bucket
Wherever he's played he's been vital
Love the ESPN line up today.
People forgot he was one of the biggest reasons the Bucks won their championship... this dude has been solid all throughout his career.
He just called CJ TJ McConnell 😭😭
i caught that 😂 good on CJ for letting it slide
Id like to see the nba change the DPOY to 3 position categories because there not equal due to type of def you play
Pf/c
Sh/sf
Pg
Making 3 DPOY
With a big thing being your coaches
Put in whats your primary position on the team so you can rank in either one category with pg being singled out since its the toughest position to guard even among guarding role players .
Jrue to me is a third tier all star or star. Good enough to make maybe 1-3 all star appeeances but in particular to his game all nba def team member
the players have said he is the best defensive player in the league but has never won DPOY he is way better than smart
Keep in mind, he’s the only member of the team with a ring
Bucks coped all year warning about “playoff Jrue”. Well he’s here and he’s incredible. Finals MVP
Under Appreciated by who? the media? Anyone who follows basketball knew how great Holiday was. Just because the Media chooses to not praise him doesnt make him under appreciated. Maybe one less topic about Lebron james per day and we could cover guys like Jrue.
It’s mad to think jrue holiday was going to retire years ago and it’s like his career been better since then
The moment the Bucks traded Holiday I figured they were done with rings. They would not have won the first one without him
Trae young was averaging 34 and 9 before he got injured in the 2021 ecf and holiday season as guarding him 64% of the time. This means Trae young the best player in the nba
Said it since day 1 bucks would regret trading him he wasn't the problem he's a more impactful player than Dame
Jrue never fails to show up in the playoffs
He has been the reason we are in the finals period
Jrue has always been a star who plays his role.
I'm not worry about JT a real superstar is on the road he will show up trust mi
His a fantastic player Great take
Not to me.. when the moves were made in the off season I told everybody that jrue to Boston was bigger than Dame to the bucks
Jrue one my favorite players OAT will and should def win Finals MVP
This is funny. Because most people, especially media had Mavericks winning. And everybody said the East is weak. Even though Celtics were the best team in the NBA. Record and statistically. For some reason media wants to hate on Tatum. I think this is just to make sure he doesn't win Finals MVP. Even though he's not scoring and isn't shooting well he's doing everything else. He's being a playmaker and playing great defense. And being a leader.
CJ and Dame for sure know better than anyone. They remember that NOLA series where Jrue and Rondo completely clamped them. Made them look like they didn’t even deserve to be in the NBA.
Let’s be real: it’s only the MEDIA who has continuously downplayed Jrue, and it’s because none of them actually know basketball. Almost every elite star in the league, from KD, Bron, and PG down to shorter guards like Steph, have said for YEARS that Jrue is easily the best defender in the league…and that he should literally win DPOY every season
I understand their point but I don't consider him underrated or underappreciated. I think anyone who is more than a casual basketball fan knows what Jrue brings to the table. Not to mention his $135M contract.
Yes he is
Hopefully now that the Lebron era is ending the media can remember what really matters in basketball which is TEAM DEFENSE
He Is just as important as Tatum and Brown
How deep does a team have to be to have Jrue Holiday be what many consider the fourth best player on a team?
After game 3 all these stats will be altered. Ky is about to drop a 30 piece on him game 3 🎉
Milwaukee let go of the wrong guy. Middleton was/is the issue. Pairing dame w/ Greek and jrue wouldve been a better option.
that is because Jrue is not a playmaker someone is doing a good job pasing the ball to Holiday
Holiday and conely been saying it for years, especially with conely I've said it since the memphis days.
05:00 Other than you Greeny, I have not heard anyone calling him a role player 😂
Jrue is a all star 1st hall of famer no question
He is probably the #4 guy on the team where he can focus on defense and get open shots when Tatum and Brown draw double teams. He is a great player but he couldn't carry a team.
seems like every other game they pull out some combination of stats , position to say this is a first🙄
