does carrot have septicemia?
Hey Luke you could get like nanny cams and put them on all your tanks. Then when you travel you can check on them in real-time or at least rewind the video and see what went wrong after the fact!
Luke, is carrot's scale surface felt rough/dry when you touch? If it's rough, it is probably bacteria infection and early stage of septicemia. You need to test the water parameter, quarantine carrot and give him/her antibiotic.
Dude Same happened to me just took 1day off & particularly on that day... on that filter stop working I lost mine all beloved fish's I don't know what to do i m just not happy dude I lost them

Please get a ball and fill it partially with water so the goldfish can play soccer with it. It will make the fish happy and they can bounce it around and have fun.
Ping pong balls work great. I've seen people drill a few holes in them aswell and put blood worms or pellets in them to act like a slow feeders for a fun time
@@mm-bv4zw yes great idea. I just want the fish to have some form of entertainment after seeing them being so happy with the laser. And their tub seems kinda bland with it literally just being a tub of water with them in it. I want them to have some sort of entertainment for when luke isn't there to play with them.

As a Canadian, it depends on where you are with the "flick" thing for the gas pump trigger, we do have them actually. I've seen and used them in Manitoba and Saskatchewan.

From 8 years working at pet stores in the fish department, looks a lot like Hemorrhagic Septicemia. As long as he's kept in that nice, clean environment, and fed regularly, he should do perfectly fine. It happens due to multiple causes (viral, bacterial, no guarantee which one was at fault), and doesn't spread unless the fish is stressed or the environment is unclean.
My best guess is a tiny bit of bullying made him stressed, causing him to be a bit more susceptible. Just a guess though. Hope he recovers :3
One of my angels caught it since she was a blushing variety, having very thin skin, but she recovered with time and care.
Exactly like my blue indigo ranchu..started from getting bullied..he stressed n get this RS and then it gotten worsed..until he get dropsy

That could be it, but he knows what he's doing and strives to make sure the fish are comfortable and in good environments. He even does regular water changes. If he didn't know what he was doing he wouldn't be a goldfish breeder.

Yeah… Canada-to-US importing killed my one fish I had then. He got stuck in customs and so instead of the 2 day shipping, I got him 9 days later. 🙃 I even filled out the customs form correctly but they had to hold him for inspections in their warehouse. And then they lost him.

You could probably set up some cheap cameras on the goldfish basement to check out the goldfish when you're away, you probably won't spot something superficial like what happened with Karen, but you'll likely be able to see if they're at least alive and active.
As a Canadian the antibiotic bans for fish are super frustrating! Ive lost three of my favorite fish to infections that could have easily been cured with medications
The US has the same thing. You just need a prescription I think

I’m canadian, now living in Missouri. We never had any problems crossing the border into Canada. Crossing back into the U.S. was a pain. One time they made us peel a whole bag of oranges.🥹 We left my brother at the boarder once, but thats a story for another time.😁
My first time traveling to BC, they let me in with just my ID. I had to fill out some paperwork and was let on my way. When I tried to return, USBP decided my ID wasn't enough to return home. When I told them Canada let me in just fine they told me, "miss, we aren't Canada. That's on them."😅 I got stuck for hours.

Similar thing happened to my Reggie. Seems like stress but you know, best treat to prevent or rid possible infection. Reggie got it for Bombay chasing incessantly 😅
Carrot most likely has a bacteria septicemia. My ranchu goldfish tend to have those all the time. I bought from many breeders in the USA and for some reason I could never keep these fishes alive no matter what I do.

As a Canadian, I can say some gas stations have the kickstand on the handle, and I am personally thrilled when I find one.
Fun fact, in Hawaii we hold the gas handles too. No pump prompts allowed.

Referring to the part at 8:50, this looks similar to early signs of skin/scale flukes. Might just be some damage from getting stuck behind something, but I'd be safe and treat Carrot, just in case.
Hey! Hi! Canadian here! Yeah gas is f*ing expensive especially here on the west coast! As for the little gas pump kick stand things, we do have them here in B.C (at least in my town we do) and I didn't know they didn't have them back east

Hi luke, I had a goldfish like that it is bacterial infection, I treated it with API Melafix
And it Worked for me
we used to have the gas pump lock but people would drive away or cars would have a vaccume issue and overflow everywhere so canada got tired of it and just took them off most pumps some of them have them still luckly but thats my take on why they took it away people couldnt smarten up

its pretty much fishkeepers law that something bad or problematic happens whilst away. it could be as light as a rotting plant or algae or as severe as a filter flooding or a tank busting
I’d like to mention only SOME places in Canada don’t have the things to allow you to let go when pumping gas. Most gas stations do in fact have them depending where in Canada you are lmao

Your Carrot have the same shit that my own Ranchu have now. I have difficult to see what is that (bacterial? Parasitic?) but I can say if one Nugget have this, your others nuggets will have it. And Worse for me, I live in Canada and like you said, good luck to find a medication!!
When I leave my house for a vacation and i come back i see the same (every time with the same fish). I put it in a tank with salt and in 1-2 weeks its cured. Its caused by poor water quality

As a rats keeper in Canada, theres a lot of things other rats keeper on the internet that told me to buy like medicine and treatement for bumble foot and fleas, that turned out to be illegal in canada. And i’m very confused because when I look online, everyone says its a good option. And honestly knowing I have to pay 200$ JUST for a consultation to the vet in “urgency” even tho its in 2 weeks. I think the animal treatement industry is just very greedy in canada.
