CLIP DESCRIPTION:
Bob (Matt Dillon) negotiates a drug deal with David (Max Perlich).
FILM DESCRIPTION:
The operative word in Drugstore Cowboy is "drug". Matt Dillon plays the leader of a group of dopeheads who wander around the country robbing pharmacies to feed their habits. Dillon's chums include doltish James Le Gros and teen-age junkie Heather Graham; also along for the ride is Dillon's wife Kelly Lynch. Their nemesis is cop James Remar, whom Dillon takes perverse delight in humiliating. When one of the young addicts dies of an overdose, it promps Dillon to try to go straight, a task complicated by wife Lynch's determination to stay high and by the corrupting presence of an ex-priest, played by Naked Lunch author William Burroughs. Drugstore Cowboy was director Gus Van Sant's breakthrough picture.

Matt Dillon does an awesome job acting in this movie. Just the way his eyes are all wide constantly on the hunt for more. It's very realistic.

Great movie. I live in Portland where this was filmed and walk past the first pharmacy he robs, every day.
@80's guy It hasn't been a pharmacy in nearly 20 years. It was a few different coffee shops and it's now a sports bar.
I know this was 6 years ago but thats pretty cool 😎 I love this movie.

He nailed it in this movie, never seen a lead man ever look more dark and handsome than in this film.
But after this movie, I don't know, his agent just cast him for bad movies, like 'Flamingo kid', which to me destroyed all the momentum of being the ultimate outlaw or 'anti-hero' roles he'd played previously.

Everytime I watch this movie it makes me think how cool living in the early 70's in Portland must of been awesome. I was born in the wrong era.

I was never good at making deals; always too sympathetic to somebody feenin' and who clearly didn't understand how to haggle. I've had my ass handed to me a few times as well, getting ripped off and letting it happen mostly out of desperation. They didn't mess anything up, grains of morphine for grams of speed or coke or meth or whatever his crank actually is. Morphine was measured in grains. Read Junky
