Personally i just like to use the amps cross-overs anymore. I used to use separate devices like that back in the late 90s, but these days plenty of amps have great built-in cross-overs.

@@DirtyKk look at the prv auido 2.8x it's an 8 channel so you can adjust every channel if you run 2 amps off of that DSP, it's the best cheap one but it doesn't have that Bluetooth so you'll have to adjust it by hand which isn't that bad after you set it up

I love the stetsom Bluetooth one. It's just a box no screen no nothing. Just Bluetooth use to adjust which keeps it cheap also.

I like how you were not trying to sell the unit. It’s for the heads that want SQ. The average listener doesn’t need it. You left it up to the consumer to decide if they think they need it. Natural salesman. Geat video.

When I got started in building systems in my cars years ago I always had an external crossover even though the amps usually had built in crossovers in them. People would aleays say " you don't need that, your amps have crossovers built in." I'd say i know that but i like mine with an external cause the quality and the bass is so much better.
In 2011 when i bought my Nissan brand new, after several months I decided to go aftermarket and rebuild my system again and I opted to try it without a crossover and just use the amps.
Right away i wasn't really impressed but i left it that way for several years. Then i upgraded again ftom 12s in a sealed box to 15s in a ported box, jumped up my subs amp and added a crossover and it was like putting the hat on Frosty The Snowman, instantly not just me but everyone who heard my system could hear how much cleaner it sounded on a whole. So now, I know I'll probably always have a crossover from now on but that's just me, I could just be strange or different.

The comment below makes a good point. But, what is important is that your amps match your speakers and sub frequency response. Often the amp's high or low pass crossovers will limit speaker performance because the crossover range does not match the speaker or sub. Having an active crossover like this usually gives you much broader range to dial in the correct frequencies from the high or low crossovers for your sub or speakers. Also having a strong signal (higher voltage via RCA cables) being sent to the amp will improve sound quality as well. There is a place for active crossovers, and it depends on the performance of your amplifier, and the different high and low pass filters available on it. (Ex. You have a subwoofer that has F.R. of 30Hz -250 Hz, but your amp's low pass filter has a limit of say 120Hz. Ideally you want an amp that can play that full 30Hz-250Hz range.) And given that most car amplifiers do not have Digital Optical input, using a DSP then sending that signal via RCA cables to your amp kinda defeats the purpose of a DSP. You can save some $$ but still get good sound quality using analog equipment, just make sure your wire connections are large enough to carry the full signal without any voltage drop/signal loss. Now go turn that shit up!

I used to own one of these exact models. It made my bass sound SOOOOOOOOOOOO much better I didnt even believe it at first. As to why I think its just due to the super high preout voltage you get. He didnt say it in the video but this thing can give you up to 14v on the PREOUT LOW LEVELS

My question is how come most of these crossovers are just 2 channel not 4 channel input. You have front and back on the backing of the stereo for your RCA’s. But when you go to the crossover, it’s just one input left and right.

Hi Sir. Thank you so much for posting the video.
Please advise. I can't get my subwoofer to produce 20Hz bass; it still has punchy bass, which I don't want.
Should I use an aftermarket cross over like "boss" to get the 20Hz wavy bass?
I have a 12 inch, 2000watt Pioneer sub in ported box (responsive to 20Hz) with a dedicated Pioneer mono block 1000Hz amp in my car. The remaining midranges and tweeters each have their own 6 channel pioneer amplifier. Finally, I have a graphic equalizer.
Please advise, sir, if I should get a cross over
I, and tune it to 20zHz ? I have tried using several graphic equalizers, but none of them had a 20Hz bass knob to enable this kind of bas.s
    P lease advise, Thanks.

Can someone help me out, i am putting a system together as we speak, i basically have everything already, i am running a 2 chuchero which a basically boxes that look like a subwoofer box but instead of bass its for mids and high and they usually put them in the back seats, well anyway my question is how do i separate mids from highs, basically the boxes have 2 10inch speakers for mids that u can throw 3000watts to it and also has 2 tweeter type speakers that are for high only and cant handle all that power and i cant trow all that mid to them, how do i run mid to the 10s and highs to the highs, i was goin to run one amp with external eq to the 10s and another amp with external eq to the highs but that mean ill have to run 3 separate amps if i include the subwoofer…seems over complicated, anyway to simplify this setup?

    @BeSome1 2 ปีที่แล้ว

I'm kind of surprised they still sell these, I mean everything has its application i suppose. However there is very little argument to be made for this product in particular. Especially given that you can get a 8ch dsp With push button presets for almost $100 less If you only need it for 4 channels a 4ch dsp is less than $50. Don't get me wrong I understand the cost it is in the hardware It is a lot more affordable to take the functionality of 25 Potentiometers and put in 1 chip digital for the win 🤷🏽‍♂️

I owned one, and for whatever reason, it made the bass sound SOOO much better it really was unbelievable at first. I am guessing due to the substantial increase in preout voltage you get this thing can give you up to 14v out.
