Wow. That very last bit, where he says "Oh Charlie...." That might be the most genuine I have ever seen him. At his core, I think he loves to make people laugh, and he may not have even really digested it until then when someone said it to his face.
He's got Charlie Rose raising his voice within 30 seconds. Typical Larry David. And I totally appreciate that he's still unable to walk up to a woman and chat her up. Although I imagine these days, it doesn't matter since the women probably walk up to him now.
Yeh, I related to that about women. Despite my maturity and painfully earned self assurance, I still don't go up to a woman and chat her up. Might have something to do with being more discerning than when I was younger.
I luved Seinfeld and after it was over I heard Larry and Jerry say something that really resonated with me as to why I liked it so much...they said they both agreed early on that if they did a show there would be NO hugging!!!
The way he looks at Charlie after saying something kinda ridiculous makes me wonder if he just wants to see charlie's reaction to that particular string of words.
That was pretty cool of that family to let Larry in his old apartment. That would be a great bit to do on Curb, only Larry gets a visit from someone who used to live there
Love Larry but I was cringing when he walked into the apartment he grew up in and said, "Look at the size of the kitchen..."....as the current family that lives there stands by....LOL Knowing New York, they are probably paying an insane rate for rent.
Boy I gotta say I love seeing someone respond to Charlie Rose like that. Great interviewer, a great career, etc, etc, but Larry is so right...those questions man. Those Charlie Rose/Katie Couric/Barbara Wlaters questions, over and over again with the "who is the REAL Larry David?", "peopla want to know", "let's make the intwerviewer cry" type of questions...Non original and annoying.
The enigma of Larry David reminds me of a professional wrestler being interviewed outside of wrestling on a mainstream talk show etc. A wrestler will say that it’s “real“ and come off as if he is the exact same person in the ring and on the talk show he is being interviewed on. Whereas an actor will play a role, then he is interviewed as the “real person“ who played that role. Larry David and pro wrestling (vs movies or TV) heighten the suspension of disbelief in that way
To the theater, the high school, the first apartment and wherever else they went, that "LD" interview went for hours before being edited and boiled down to just over 12 minutes. I'll bet that family that now lives on "LD's" old apartment has a few unwanted, new best friends.
Every time larry david speaks it feels like he's lying and telling the truth at the same time
It's the act of wanting to be honest while also wanting to reveal as little as possible.
Beautiful comment, beautiful reply
Give a little and they'll come back for more . lol .
that’s the ethos of comedy
Fucking brilliant!
Larry is the most prolific rare interview giver I've ever experienced.
haha!
Quality work sir!
Interviewee*
He's so uncomfortable admitting to any emotions it's hilarious. It's amazing Charlie Rose even got what he did out of Larry. Guys a good interviewer.
He's chewing gum at an interview lmao. I love this man
That’s not a sincere interview Larry…
This feels like an elaborate Curb scene
this was pretty pretty pretty good
"You have no backbone! You have no capacity to say no!"
"No!"
Comedy gold :)
I actually love their banter in this interview! Larry David is amazing and a comedic genius.
That was so genuine at the end -- "Oh Charlie"
yup. He was moved
Yeah, you can see he was touched by that. Rare thing for Larry
I loved it. I re-watched that part 4 times.
You can almost see a tear in his eyes there
I know right! The exact moment it was about to get emotional
This is a real interview. This is, indeed, an interview that most of people wanted to see-serious but at the same time real and natural.
Wow. That very last bit, where he says "Oh Charlie...." That might be the most genuine I have ever seen him. At his core, I think he loves to make people laugh, and he may not have even really digested it until then when someone said it to his face.
Probably the best interview I've ever seen with LD
Chris Kotsopoulos The 4 part interview with Ricky Gervais is also prettay...prettay...pretty good!
damn LD is like the youngest looking 70 year-old...I hope he lives forever
I have seen literally hundreds of 70-year-olds who look younger than Larry David
the downside is that he's looked 70 since he was 25
Larry David is one of the most lovable and wonderful people I've ever experienced. Seriously.
I've never got attached to celebrities.. but Larry is different I wanna be his friend so bad lol 😂
he doesn´t... no! no!... why would i? lol
I know, hey :) I feel exactly the same way...I absolutely love Larry David
Trevor Scott he’s charismatic, humans are attracted to it.
LD! The most eccentric, intelligent and greatest comic of our time!
wow the first 2 minutes were gold. larry really meant his compliment. charlie seriously got him, hands down
this is textbook larry david
Great interview. It'll be a sad day when we lose the brilliance that is Larry David.
Jai Sangha don't even talk about that
Jai Sangha don't even talk about that
Why go there lol.
Shut up
ty for uploading the interview

you need counseling ! did some good looking blonde melk you of all your money wit ha failed marriage?
Yeh, I related to that about women. Despite my maturity and painfully earned self assurance, I still don't go up to a woman and chat her up. Might have something to do with being more discerning than when I was younger.
Moshe Steinberg I fully support the woman, and any future women, who destroy you emotionally and take every item of material wealth that you have.
This interview was pretty good.. prettyyy, pretty, pretty good.
damn this interviewer going straight for the jugular and larry david could sense it right away.
‘You don’t have the courage to be a jerk.’ One of the best lines in anything ever 🔥
That was the best interview I ever watched in my life
❤
That ending was so sweet. 11:56 I'm sure that last bit is gonna be used in the future to summarize his carrer.
mechamorafa complete with the Beavis snicker
This guy is so unintentionally funny. Dude just kills me.
I love you, Bernie Sanders!
hahahahahah
I had a good laugh at this
You can really hear his/seinfeld's influence on eachother in delivery starting around 1:20 to 1:50
The tombstone should say the same thing,
“Didn’t go, didn’t know.”
Thank you my friend , you pulled us together back in the day. I’m a fan ?
God I relate to Larry David so much. I couldn’t take myself serious enough to do an interview like this.
Haha... people over-analyze Larry...this is him, either you love him or hate him. I LOVE Larry. He reminds me of my dad. Maybe that's why.
your dad is awesome then
@@full6330name was
I happened to tell my dad he reminds me of him yesterday Funny enough
Larry is the 🐐
He’s shockingly consistent
Larry, you are the BEST!
Henry Miller, Richard Feynman, Larry David: three Brooklyn boys.
That ending was so genuine... I had that feeling when you're abou to cry.
I think it's the first time I ever thought about him dying, that's why
great interview. thank you LD for curb your enthusiasm and seinfeld
I luved Seinfeld and after it was over I heard Larry and Jerry say something that really resonated with me as to why I liked it so much...they said they both agreed early on that if they did a show there would be NO hugging!!!
Dude, nah. Private company, you follow their rules. it sucks but literally thirty seconds of Google and you'd get the correct answer.
FilmGeek Studios Did you make this comment inadvertently? It doesn't seem to relate to my post.
This is literally the first Charlie Rose interview that has not put me to sleep.
The way he looks at Charlie after saying something kinda ridiculous makes me wonder if he just wants to see charlie's reaction to that particular string of words.
He’s survived the way he’s lived. Being the voice or writer in the background no one has the guts to be.
He's a writer. Ask him about writing.
What writer? It's a sitcom!
Truly love LD! Would love to meet him and let him know how much he means to the world
That interview went pretty good....prettyyyy prettyyyyyyyyyy prettyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy pretty good
Season 12 the final season is about to be released this Sunday so I’m watching every Larry David interview I can find
That was pretty cool of that family to let Larry in his old apartment. That would be a great bit to do on Curb, only Larry gets a visit from someone who used to live there
ShakespeareCafe Ha! Great idea!!
Chewing gum in an interview is so Larry David 😂
hahaja what this interview just blows up immediately
Love Larry but I was cringing when he walked into the apartment he grew up in and said, "Look at the size of the kitchen..."....as the current family that lives there stands by....LOL Knowing New York, they are probably paying an insane rate for rent.
did you miss the part where he said he was a jerk? what did you expect?
Charlie Rose shreds here. Good job.
Jiminy Glick interview of David still the best.
He has really great looking teeth
Larry David is AWESOME
best interview ever
The last line made me cry
@1:04 sounds EXACTLY like Seinfeld.
That Jerry Squeal tho.
Bizarro Jerry
The interview ended at 2:02

LMAO this is CLASSIC
Where to watch Fish in the dark play?
It's like Larry David turned 55 and then stopped aging. ;-)
I love LD so much I wana leave my family and move in with him!
I want to marry him! Lol 😂😂😂
same!
Then you'll just want to divorce him though.
Jerk !
Leon is that you
YOU. WILL. FAIL!
No mention of his military service?
Jerry: Kramer, you were in the military?
Kramer: .....briefly.....
@@Illumirage Larry was in the Army Reserves.
Yup. www.nytimes.com/2004/02/15/opinion/my-war.html
@@utapao74 are you sure that's the right larry david? LD praising bush? Something seems off.
@@Illumirage www.axs.com/5-things-you-didn-t-know-about-larry-david-58359
I laughed during this whole thing!
Chewing his gum to annoy the interviewer!!!!! JERK! Love u larry
Larry David is such a kind human
The genius of Larry David is just... I can't even

This is like a serious interview report, and it turned to an episode of curb in the first second.
That was a pretty genius opening exchange between Charlie Rose and Larry David.
First part is like a scene from curb your enthusiasm
Everytime i see Larry David it's like watching an episode of Curb; you can't seperate the man from the role.
To me personally this is an epiphany, my Life, my anguish shared!
Great interview
Wow! Charlie Rose channeling Larry David! I kind of liked it.
Is that it? Where's the rest of the interview? 💔
Wow. Larry looked pissed with those first questions about being a character
Charlie Rose was checking Larry out in that photo of him as a kid. :{
hahhaha couldn't have ended this video in a more awkward way lmaooo
Charlie Rose is as good as it gets in interviews and larry david never disappoint
What’s with the gum chewing?
I love Charlie Rose! Great interview!
i love this interviewer
Love this guy

These pretzels...are making me thirsty!!!!
Any way that anyone is, no matter what, is an "act". What makes a person appear to truthfully be a certain way is simply consistency in an act.
Also ironic that Jason Alexander took over Larry David's role in that play
Larry... Amazing soul.
Charlie Rose is the worst kind of hack. It baffles me how he's had such a long and respected career.
why does larry talk like seinfeld?
very sweet interview
Its his birthday today
I DONT KNOW IF I LOVE HIM OR HATE HIM. HE IS ONE STRANGE MAN.
The most lovable jerk, ever.
Love LD!
Larry David gives lots of interviews!
Why is "rare" in quotation marks?
