      It seems as though the only corrupted people in this word is the CPP... And people like Donald Trump, Obama, and the western bankers are perfectly righteous, incorruptible, role-model people... Can't this government be more stupid... With Singapore's standing, we cannot afford to be one-sided... @CNA Insider such a video actually is inciting political biaisedness and agitating the political neutrality that Singapore has.... Lee Hsien Loong should just fire your @CNA Insider CEO.... but obviously he won't, because that short-sighted Lee Hsien Loong is also directly/indirectly telling your CEO what to do...

      This whole video is a giant whataboutism (propaganda tactic used often by Russia & China, it's also a logical fallacy). See, China has trouble separating corporations from government. To them, they're one in the same. It's hard for them to understand that corporations in the west are not owned & ran by their respective governments. That's why this entire video is nonsense; Google, youtube & facebook are CORPORATIONS. They are businesses with only one concern: profit (money). They have shareholders they answer too, and they can be called to task in court for illegal activities (and often are, I get about 4-5 letters a year about a class action lawsuits related to products I buy). In China, businesses exist, sure, but any sufficiently large company is under the thumb of the Chinese government, especially if that business can harvest data. The entire video is a false equivalence.

    • @DejaVuEXP
      @DejaVuEXP 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      China did not outright ban most of the foreign internet companies, albeit any tech companies that operate in China are required to comply with the censorship, surveillance and data sharing policies mandated by the Chinese government. Some companies like google and Facebook refused to follow these rules citing human rights abuse (ironically) and chose to cease their Chinese operations, whereas other firms like Apple and Microsoft continue to succeed in Chinese market because they compromised and tailored their operations to meet the demands made by Chinese government. Take apple for instance, not only do they remove any apps off of the Chinese App Store at government’s request, they also located servers for all Chinese iCloud users inside China.

    • @zprodigalson
      @zprodigalson 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Brilliant piece! It baffles me how fast TikTok has grown on a global level and how easy for people to access the service. A pity that countries started banning it since it brought so much for people. Then again; an app that has so much influence on daily life is indeed a scary idea and probably should be looked in to it more further. That also goes for Facebook, Google etc. Since these apps have so much power within the world of social media, advertising, algorithms and internet on a general level.

      Agree. Especially when at least in U.S.; F.B., TH-cam, Google are signed/tuned to the Gov't for all Info.
      Many easily agree w/o reading small print or think: have nothin' to hide when agreeing to sign up for many apps. Even simple game apps have become invading if folks will read a new update. Like why need agree share/open contact,photos,microphone,location etc.etc.
      Besides this dumb down. Many say do w/o thinking. In time imagine subliminal images. Let alone many vote due to what a 'influencer' may say. Which many do get paid for mention products.

    Everything can be dangerous on these social media apps...but we as parents watched every step our Kids made at the beginning of it all...and we gave them both a a feeling of self esteem and confidence, so that they don't need the attention and likes from thousand of strangers...yes, it's that simple, show some interest and respect to your kids and spend a lot of time together as a family, so they'll know, that social media can be fun, but it shouldn't be your hole life 😉

    There are also the secretive features of social media-allowing people to be secretive. For example, with Instagram’s direct messaging, “Vanish Mode” and “Close Friends list”…..
    It is concerning especially when young people have access to these features. What kind of adults will the young people grow up to be? What kind of future generations will there be?
    Social media companies allow the features mentioned above (just to name a few) because the more people use their platform, the more advertisements they can push to people, this means more ad revenue for the social media companies. But at the expense of what?
    Check your kids!

    oh wow... This came out today. Didn't even notice... My thoughts mainly follow the idea that something shouldn't be banned just because it has been developed in another nation. Doesn't really make sense to me. It's hard not to see how TikTok was banned in India for political reasons with the narrative provided. I do feel bad for that guy that was making those paintings (and anyone else who was talented/became Internet celebrities) because of the app.

    TikTok is different. It uses your screen patterns, videos you watch, and messages to form an estimated profile of you.
    For example, if you are busy watching some stuff about sadness or depression for a school project, afterwards it will suggest a lot of content that is depressive by mood. Many are spending hours every day on TikTok, since this has become a part of their world. Now suddenly everything around them seems sad, gloomy and depressive.
    Young people and in particular teenagers are still so easy malleable. They are in an important phase of their lives. It is the phase they form a personality. Therefore, this has impact on them that can't be underestimated.

    Anyone in the USA who has a Driver's License or an Identification Card, has their information sold to whomever the MVA/DMV (Motor Vehicles Administration/Department of Motor Vehicles) as does the post office, when you change your address, chooses to do so with, it's in the finer print of these government businesses, ask them for yourself. Sadly most people don;t know or realize it, or more then likely don't care, they have this, "Identity theft, that won't happen to me" kind of thinking, there are ways to protect yourself, but it requires a lot of work to do so, & let's face it...with the world as it is now?...if it takes more then 2 swipes & a few clicks, most people won't be bothered with it. That's exactly what the identity thieves want you to do &/or be like.

    For people that say TikTok is thrash, probably they have never tried to used it even once. Tiktok like TH-cam offers different categories that both entertain and educate. If you view Tiktok as dance and lip sync battles only, then you certainly miss those great content creators the likes of teachers, nurses, doctors, and other professionals or ordinary people sharing their skills and knowledge with their respective field.
    I once view it as a silly and non sense app but after some tries, I discovered that it’s not just fun but educational as well.

    If people want to use tik tok (any social media) it's their choice. They know the risks and rewards they are adults. What I don't like is them using their kids on a social networking site for likes and popularity, to create viral videos 😒.. But what's actually worse is when kids have their own phones and their own accounts, you have to be 13 to have the majority of social media accounts. You see 6 year olds with their own handles singing outrageous lyrics and dancing like their momma taught them. They can receive messages and likes and watch unfiltered content, and that is just okay?? Not enough is done. Tell your kid to go sit on a wall and develop a personality, don't warp them at such a young age through the education of screens and lyrics like the WAP.

    There’s two type of people who use tiktok. One is the audience on the app itself, another is the audience and creator. I don’t know where lies the terrifying thing about tiktok though? It caters to different group of people across the globe. If you don’t use it and only perceived it by stupid clips shared on your uncle’s facebook or your niece’s instagram, then you have not yet discover the decent and educational side of tiktok 😑.
