With the color saturation and all the rapid movements in this video, I found it impossible to prevent the tile effect from happening at times in the low quality viewing mode. This version still sounds like late eighties house music. Stripped down and minimal, Keys, drum snares and vocals. It's great. The version done for the U.S. version was mixed by Shep Pettibone who was gaining fame for his production and making a deeper sound with basslines, Check out Madonna's Erotica LP and remix for Janet Jackson's 'Alright'. Shep even went on to produce Cathy's second album.

I used to work on this Waltzer and remember building it up for this video shoot in '99. Was a strange build up as we were asked to leave the roof panels off so they could shoot through the roof, though they never did. The spinning roof was not something that we used all the time. In the 5 years i worked on it we only used the spinning roof about 3 other times.
Cathy should have been huge, and this song should have BLOWN UP! LOVE this version, you can really hear her vocals. Her songs hold up even now.

I have a feeling it was 1991 here in the UK certainly early 90 or 91. And, contrary to popular belief, it is NOT Rick Astley singing on backing, it is Danny-D from D-Mob

Well, to be fair, she DID have three top 10 hits in the USA. That's nothing to sneeze at.
