    Dimash's concerts generally last around 3 hours and he is singing or talking for the vast majority of that time. In this particular concert he sang 31 songs, was dropped from the top of that huge centre screen, danced, jumped and ran. As you can imagine with doing all that he has to have a range of songs that aren't all vocally challenging. His concerts are extremely well planned and definitely not what you would expect a Dimash concert to be if you've only experienced his more operatic songs.
    I was lucky enough to attend a Rolling Stones concert at Wembley stadium. Dimash's concert in Almaty blew that out of the water

    Dimash sang in this song in his native language Kazach. The side instrument you saw was a dombra (national instrument of Kazakh). - The concert in Almaty 2022 was also recorded by a drone. - The songs that Dimash sings are very different. But most people only see the songs he performed together with Igor Krutoy. Dimash is also a drummer. So he loves the beat.

      @@bobbiebastin5423 There is only one live performance, the one from Armenia. Before that it was full playback and after Armenia he started to sing first half of the song live and the more difficult part is playback so the "metal scream" was never performed live (he changed it when it was live in Armenia)

    🤣🤣🤣 I love this song despite the simplicity. It is a very fun folk song with a rock vibe. Dimash has a strong drive to share Kazak culture therefore demos plenty of traditional instruments like the Dhombra that you were admiring. Dimash also loves instruments and is often given gifts of traditional instruments from the countries where he does a concert like the recent example in Maylasia.🎶💐💜💐🎶 This Almaty Concert was the concert of the century. Fans flew in from 68 countries to attend. I adore Dimash in this outfit. I wish he wore outfits like this all the time.😂 I am a symphonic metal gal and can hardly wait until he does a metal song. 🤘❤️‍🔥🤘I was disappointed to learn recently that he is exploring jazz and blues presently. Surely he could have waited until he was old for those and tackled metal first..🤔🤔🤔 😭 Anyway the best metal vocals are in the The Story of One Sky. Just a teaser but tides one over for a long wait of Dimash "SOON" for a metal song. I hope it is soon and not never.😭😱🤣🥰🥰🥰 Hugs from a Canadian Dear🇨🇦

      Haha, and I love the jazz and blues vibes when he does them in his vocalises! They are out of this world! My favorite is the one before “Autumn Strong” in his London concert.

      @reneedevry4361 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@EllanaTs Actually Ellana, I love that performance too and his forays into those styles of vocals. While I can't sing at all, I was always told that metal vocals are easier on the younger vocal chords whereas Jazz and Blues are a skill that is not as "hard on the vocal chords". Plus too be honest, I was being selfish and wanted metal first as I do prefer that over Jazz and Blues. Hope you are having an awesome day👍🥰🇨🇦

    • @JustMyOpinion1010

      Dimash's jazz and blues will definitely not be what is expected. When has he ever done mainstream? Probably just elements of it. He did study contemporary and jazz so it makes sense that he would incorporate it a bit more. We'll wait and see what he has in store. I honestly don't know if what you were told about being 'easy' on vocal chords is true. Symphonic metal is basically classical singing with a bit of grit and distortion here and there. The latter can be unhealthy if your technique is poor. Jazz and blues is more about technical skill in agility.

    • @reneedevry4361
      @reneedevry4361 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@JustMyOpinion1010 Wow. Thank you for this. ❤️ I was locked in my mind to traditional Jazz and Blues. Now I am back to looking forward to the next "meal" he will be serving in his "vocal buffet". The possibilities are endless. Wow, what is he combines them with opera? How cool that would be. 🥰

    The song is in Kazakh, those instruments are a traditional instrument called a dombra. It only has 2 strings. Dimash will tell you every boy in Kazakhstan knows how to play the dombra. There are songs where he has added grit to his voice, but he uses that technique sparingly. Like towards the end of the Story of One Sky, or his newest song Omir. I'm also a metal girl, but Dimash's vocals blows my mind. I love the passion he displays too.

    Some of those drone shots are crazy. I think they wander away from Dimash too much during important songs. You can hear them in some fan cams.
    Dimash likes fire and jumping off of high places. He dropped down from that giant screen at the beginning of the concert. 😆
    "Durdaraz is an old folk song about a very beautiful woman serving tea to a bunch of men. The purpose of the gathering is to have a party where they drink tea, play kuis (songs), flirt, and generally pick their romantic partners. What starts as a peaceful setting erupts into arguments over the girl and who she serves tea to 1st and how he wishes his betrothed was as beautiful as her. And she is upset that the nice setting is being disrupted and the elders are beginning to argue too. Durdaraz means "to have a tense relationship with somebody""
    That instrument is the Dombra. It is in every Kazakh household. Dimash has managed to work folk instruments into modern-sounding songs and they sound awesome.
    Here he is playing the Dombra in concert. This is said to be one of his most emotional songs. "Adai + Daididau" - th-cam.com/video/Ra4v19Rp6cQ/w-d-xo.html
    (His ear monitor stops working and he sings without it. I'm not even sure if the crew noticed him motioning to his earpiece.)
    In colonized Kazakhstan (1930's) a poet and teacher named Magzahan Zhumabayev talked about freedom and modernization. He was arrested and jailed for conspiracy. While in prison he was mistakenly informed that his wife had left him. He wrote this to her in the form of a letter that later became poetry. When he was released, he realized she had never left him. They were able to live together just a few years before he was arrested once more and this time executed.

    You have to watch Story of One Sky performed here at Almaty. He does scream. Its long and a serious subject, but you won't be disappointed. Dimash is not the heavy metal mentality. He gets angry but not so dark in his nature.
    His El Amor en Ti is interesting and runs the gamut vocally. You can watch both as One sky precedes El Amor at Almaty concert.

    👉 The Dombra is a folk musical instrument widely used in Central Asia. It is made of wood and has a pear-shaped body with a long neck (only in Kazakhstan with frets) to which two gut strings are attached.
    The dombra can be rightly called the queen of Kazakh instruments since the XIX-th century. Dombra can be met in each yurta; it was referred to as one the most necessary and obligatory things in the life of Kazakhs.
    Although Kazakh musical instruments resemble those belonging to other tribes of the Central Asian ethnic group, they have their peculiarities dictated by national traditions. Today the dombra is a national symbol of the Kazakhs and Dimash said every Kasacian child learns this instrument.
    In many legends the heroes of successfully made use the ability to 'communicate without words:
    'In spite of his father's prohibition the khan's son (Genghis Khan) secretly went hunting. He met a herd of kulans and wounded the leader. Infuriated, Lame Kulan killed the youth with a stroke of the hoof. After waiting in vain for the return of his son from hunting, the khan declared that anyone who approached him with that estirtu (bad news) would be executed by pouring molten lead into the mouth. No one dared for a long time until an old dombrist (a person who plays the dombra) attempted. The sorrowful tune of the kyui was able to send this tragic message across to the khan. He ordered that the molten lead be poured into the dombra. That was how the opening in the upper sounding board of this musical instrument came about.

    Because you've been an audio engineer and have performed onstage, I thought you might enjoy watching at least the last part of part 2 of his NY concert at the Barclay Arena in Brooklyn. At about the 41:00 mark, he gets this little mischievious look on his face, and he's OFF into the audience where he stays for a long time. He finally returns to the stage and starts introducing his team, and then, he's back into the audience again.. He saved thanking his audio engineer for last. They are very close and Dimash credits him with making everything sound just as he had envisioned it. He was so happy to be performiing in America that his energy seemed boundless. th-cam.com/video/w-RvU7jhMJ0/w-d-xo.html

    👉The song Durdaraz/ Quarrels by the Kazakh poet-improviser and composer Eshniyazsal Meidimululy (1834-1902) He was one of the most prominent representatives of Kui* in the country.
    'Durdaraz' is a famous song from the golden pool of 19th-century Kazakh folk songs.
    * Kui are musical compositions for mainly string instruments (Dombra, Kobyz). Kazakh nomads expressed all of their daily life, surroundings, events and feelings through kuis. In Kazakh culture, kuis were learned by heart and passed on from generation to generation without any written fixing. The music is usually accompanied by stories and legends told by the kuishi (kui performer).
