Interesting to see you step away from anamorphic, I know you've been loving your Schneider 2x rig. Is that taking a back seat to this new spherical set?
@@Mumbo I'd love a video on that rig by the way, I know it's pretty diy and I'd love to see what you did. I've been trying to hunt down the 2x you used but haven't found any in good condition from good sellers. The shots are phenomenal.
@@isaacbedford3644 I don't love the blue flares, but I'll wait for part three of the media division series where they strip the coatings, because I did like the brief test shots they teased after removal

Very nice review and beautiful footage. Do you know if it's ok to buy these lenses individually rather that an entire set in terms of how the are matching?
I am looking forward to get a set of Vespid Primes, and now I am a bit confused of which mount should I chose that's more future prove and more versatile in-terms of working with other cameras.
about to pick up some of these to go with my 6k pro! love the look youre getting out of them. have you made luts? or have a place to purchase the grain you use with your footage? its beautiful

I’ve been looking around for a née good set of lenses as I’ve broken a lot of the old ones I have, maybe I’ll borrow some of these from a friend and see if they’re worth buying
Great review my friend. Thoughts on these compared to Leica R or Zeiss Standard Speed 2.1? Skin tones seem to lean magenta with less expensive lenses, which is why I like the R set. They lean warmer and yellow.
In short: Longer focal length feels more disconnected, shorter feels closer, and more intimate. Framing the person low down makes them feel more innocent, framing them tight to the top makes them feel depressed. Framing looking into the space makes it feel happier and adventurous, framing with less space is similar to framing near the top. I'm sure there are plenty of videos on this topic, but I too would love mumbo to make a video on it
Great video, very instructive. Personnaly I choose the competition : Meike FF. I'm curious about the camera you used at 02'28", and your color correction process. Do you use LUTs ? I assume you don't.
I believe the panavision 70 anamorphics. They shot that film on the arri 65 or imax mostly, which has an extremely large sensor, and there aren't many lenses that cover it
hey mumbo you got any idea of high mm lenses i could get for my cannon eos 800d, id like to use them for astrophotography the current lens i use is 18-mm55mm for refrence
Is T the modern(ish) equivalent of f stops? I’ve only ever used vintage lenses and as far as i know they’ve only got f stops, and sometimes don’t have hard stops either r
T stops are the f stop modified for light transmission. An f stop is a measurement of the apature itself, whereas a t stop is a measurement of light, meaning it is more accurate to work out exposure with. Generally it is only on cine lenses
sadly no E mount available. Also your where to buy link is scuffed, atleast for me. And what do they cost? Couldn't find the price on the website, because again the link is busted
Nice one. I'm stepping away from cinema lenses (Meikes MFT on my P4K which I've been really happy with for the money) to Zeiss Milvus superspeeds. Just love the first in my collection (50mm f1.4) but realise already I'm going to miss the physical form factor of the Meikes - thankfully focus breathing isn't an issue despite being a photographic lens (you can also easily de-click the aperture by design which is a nice touch!) Thanks for the tip re tight focus ring. I had a major panic at first with this lens but after a few weeks it too has limbered up enough for my nucleus nano °¬)
Thank you very much for your review!!! Please tell me how these lenses compare to Leica R? I am interested in contrast, sharpness and color reproduction. I really love my Leica R set. Will I get more picture quality when I buy a Vespid set?
This isn’t so much of a question about the lenses but…Who did the first choice of music you used? It is used in the MasterClass for Aaron Sorkin and I have been dying to find it! BTW. Did love the review as I am bouncing against my brain of either getting a set of these or the DZO Pictor zooms…
F stops are a physical measurement of the opening in the lens, t stops are what the f stop would be if there was no light lost to other things. T in t stop stands for transmission of light. It is much more accurate, and better for judging exposure. T stops are generally only on cine lenses.
I believe that they are good above budget cine lens. Their cheapest model is selling for $1800 CAD retail. My budget Samyang cine lens currently retail for $600 CAD plus is already made my wallet pretty tight. 😀

How is it using the full frame lenses on a super 35 are you using a meta bones or just glass straight to the sensor?
Do you put filmgrain on the whole video? Because it's really apparent in the slides but not in the footage.
I quality of this video is making my laptop put its fans on max
