"I'm Cold" and "Locked In" were two of my favorite episodes of 'Are You Afraid of the Dark?'. On the show they were called "The Tale of the Frozen Ghost" and "The Tale of the Lonely Ghost".
The #1 is totally true... I was in HS at the time- I remember stories about this and at one point everyone just knew not to do it because what might happen. It was really scary and seeing someone with head lights off driving slow... never good.
I heard the "Drip Drip Drip" story at a girl scout camp. The girls in my cabin new I was scared easily and after telling the story made me walk around the perimeter of the camp with out a flashlight. I was so scared lol.
The headlight flashing thing has been engraved into my head ever since I was a little girl. That’s why I refuse to do that when I see someone driving with their headlights on early in the morning when I’m driving to work.
Did anybody happen to catch that a good number of these episodes were also used as "Tales From the Crypt" episodes which ran from late 80s? The Santa (2nd episode), the Corrupt Executioner (1st episode) just as examples
Huh, so that's why my mother checked my candy on Halloween. I never knew that some random guy spiked the candy with things that would kill children in the 90's...
Nice video as always! Numbers 3, 4 and 6 were Tales From The Crypt episodes. I know cuz I just watched the full series a few months ago. Maybe the show was inspired by the legends or the other way around. Anyway you're awesome Lindsay! Love your videos! Later! 😁😁
“Locked in” and “I’m cold” were featured in Are you afraid of the dark and were one of my favourites! I didn’t know that they were urban legends. It was really nice hearing this stories again! 😊😊
No.2 was from an anime and manga series called JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, in part 4, Yoshikage Kira was murdering young women for their hands and did the exact same thing. The manga started in the 1980’s, and the setting was a small town in 1999
“Drip drip drip” is a story one of my camp councilors would tell when we were on the island in the middle of a lake, at night, with no means of communication, and the only way to get back to mainland where the canoes....... we would camp the night....
I'm scared of Halloween for two reasons. 1: Because of the chance that candy is either poisoned or has razors in it. And 2: Because sometimes realistic decorations could be real like a dead body. People may think its fake when it's real. So yeah. I don't go trick or treating anymore 😐
I believe it was in Delaware a few years back when a woman hanged herself from a tree and everyone just assumed that she was a decoration. Nobody realised until a few days later.
Some of these urban legends have been around before the 90s, the candy one definitely has, and the headlight one is still going around, but instead of a fax machine it's on social media, saw it a couple of times on facebook.
