Great reaction, however Miyako (the guitarist stage right) is not the secondary guitarist, both Miyako (guitarist screen right) and Midori (guitarist screen left) are twin lead guitarists. Miyako also plays concert peformance standard classical piano. All Lovebites' members are classically trained multi-instrumentalists. Miho (bass) also plays guitar and drums. Midori (blond guitarist) started to learn to play the piano at 2 years old and continued with piano and keyboards until she was twenty when she attended a prestigious music school to learn to play guitar. Miyako (black haired guitarist) started to learn to play the piano at 3 years old and has continued to play for twenty-eight of her thirty-one years. She taught heself to play the guitar at around 18 or 19 years old. She also play bass and some drums and composes around half of Lovebites' songs. The drummer (Haruna) started out playing the piano before switching to drums and the singer (Asami) who had vocal and dance training in the States for a couple of years, started out sing r 'n' b and soul. All Lovebites members' are sophisticated, well-educated, insanely talented musicians at the top of their game and their live performances are flawless. You should check out other videos from thier Zepp Diver City, Tokyo 2020 concert, I recommend 'Swan Song with Chopin's Revolutionary Etude', 'Edge of the World', 'Rising' and 'Signs of Deliverence' for starters.
Great reaction video dude. I really like how the two guitarists (Midori and Miyako) use their contrasting styles of playing to push each other to greater hights. You should check out their Live performance of Set The World on Fire.
Awesome! Finally you check out Lovebites. What a great reaction and great analysis. You know about the music, the guitar, the drum, the bass, and the vocals. Glad Lovebites get reaction on this chanel. Thank you very much. Hope more song from Lovebites get many reaction on this chanel. Because Lovebites is world class band and musicians. Next try they song "Swan song" or "Winds of Transylvania" Stay safe, and keep on lovebitten🤘
Yes, the guitarist on the right, Miyako, has a Dean. In later videos you will see her with her own signature Dean flying V. The other guitarist, Midori, and the bassist, Miho, use ESPs, a Japanese brand. Miyako is a classical pianist, later in the same concert, she'll play that baby grand sitting off to the right. The drummer Haruna and Miho were in an earlier female metal band Destrose and they started Lovebites. The name comes from the Halestorm song "Love bites (so do I)". Miho is an Iron Maiden and Rage fan and Haruna likes the German power metal band Helloween. The singer Asami comes from a Soul/R&B background and was a ballet dancer. They collaborate on song writing with Mao, the former keyboardist of the Japanese symphonic metal band Lightbringer. All their album mixing and mastering is done by Karmila and Jussila, the same Finnish team that does Nightwish and other metal bands.
What a great analysis of this fantastic band! Midori and Miyako are phenomenal twin lead guitarists that complement each other so well! Haruna and Miho make up the super solid rhythm section that allows the guitars to shine and Asami charging with her powerful vocals on top of it all! Please check out their songs "Break the Wall" or "Edge of the World" both Live from the same show in 2020! Thank you so much for checking them out! More please! 🤘🙂🤘
since you are a music teacher, I guarantee you will love their song called Swan Song(live). It's a power metal song with piano intro and outro also with beautiful lyrics. Unfortunately the Swan Song video with piano intro is no longer available, but you can watch it here: full song www.bitchute.com/video/aPvgPFvzzbwG/ (no piano intro) th-cam.com/video/uEsEWISc8Q0/w-d-xo.html Thanks
Midori paying with her ESP Horizon guitar through Kemper & Marshal.. Miyako playing with her DEAN guitar through Peavy & Orange.. Miho playing with her ESP JAZZ Bass guitar through Darkglass Bass Head with corresponding Darkglass Boxes.. And Haruna surrounded by her Pearl & Sabian.. By the way... nice reaction my friend.. Stay safe and stay Lovebites..
Black haired guitarist Miyako also plays piano on other Lovebites songs, such as Edge Of The World, Empty Daydream, Swan Song, Epilogue(I hope you check it out). She plays more melodic and tapping while blonde haired guitarist Midori plays more technical and fast. Actually most of their music is inspired by NWOBHM and European music, In some songs you will find piano like Rachmaninoff and Beethoven. They became the first (Japanese) female band to perform at Wacken, Graspop metal and Bloodstock. If you're familiar with Nightwish and Children of Bodom, the Lovebites album was mixed and mastered by the same sound engineer as the two bands. I hope you continue your journey with Lovebites,... Miyako is a genius and great music composer. Sorry my bad english and thanks
Midori the guitarist with an ESP learned at school from her 20, and Miyako the guitarist with a Dean taught herself with an instruction book at her 18. So they have about a little over 10 year experiences in guitar. This is Miyako's Dean how modified. th-cam.com/video/9pYWabx3OXo/w-d-xo.html
they are heavy influenced by the good stuff: Iron Maiden, Metallica, Judas Priest, Megadeth, Pantera, Testament etc. and classical music too like beethoven, stravinsky, chopin ... . the " secondary guitar player" miyako is a musical prodigy, started classical piano at age 2, is now on top concert pro level. at age 18 she started playing guitar, one of her main influences is gary moore. miyako is also a guitar nerd. she plays a 5150 peavey top and an orange cabinet. has herself modified her deans with fishman fluence PUs and ovaltone capacitators to get the sound she wants. also she is the main composer, but all of them write songs. here they also amazing: they have 4 albums and 3 EPs out and there is not one bad song, not even a filler. don´t get fooled by the looks these women are very serious. their records have been mixed and mastered in finland at finvox studios (nightwish, children and bodom, amorphis etc.). they love real metal, but also want to show that they are sophisticated women. lovebites are something else. glad you like them.
@@CaffeineNightOwl She runs overdrive pedals too. Lunastone, I think. Unless she switched to something else now. Guitar players are always trying different gear. Saki's rig is a AxeFX-III on top of a Marshall JVM410 head. She might be using the Axe3 just for effects, or she might be using the JVM only as a power amp.
@@TheCyberMantis 6505’s are one of the few production head amps that can achieve a traditional thrash scooped mids. Mesa boogey mark V is what James Hetfield uses but they are like 3800 dollars, so a lot of folks grab the 6505 or an older 5150. Newer head amps are extremely hard to get to thrash and usually need a high gain overdrive. Peavy cabs aren’t all that great I think she went with Orange to give a little more warmth to the tone.
@@christopherlidster3918 Another great amp for that classic scooped metal tone is the newer EVH Stealth amps. The 100-watt head is the best. You don't even need a booster in front of it, but I prefer an 808 in front of the blue channel. The red channel is really only good for liquid leads. Great sustain, but so much compression and saturation. You lose chord definition when playing rhythms on the red channel.
Always love when a music teacher gets to see and hear Lovebites. I appreciate an opinion from that kind a person very much, not just any person that just watch them and say This is awsome in the end-that means nothing. Keep up with these girls dude-they are best metal band in the world right now. ROCK ON!
Midori and Miho, the bassist..both play ESP guitar thru a 5150 Kemper on Marshall cab...whereas, Miyako, plays a Dean thru a Peavey 6205 on an Orange cab...
You are kinda correct. Midori plays an ESP Horizon-II guitar and a Kemper, which has several patches in it. I seen a couple of her patches, and one was a 6505 and another was a Diezel. I'm sure she has more in there. Miyako's amps are a Peavey 6505+, and a Orange Dual Dark.
Yeah the blonde hair guitarist is Midori her inspiration guitarists are Yngwe Malmsteen and Kiko Loureiro. The other guitarist with the black hair Miyako her inspiration are Gary Moore and Richie Blackmore. Two very different styles of playing but work very well together. Miyako in interview about how both with Midori played so well together she answered- first time when they start playing looks like each one of them start feeling the other one. Miyako said looks like i was in her mind and she was in mine. And someone mentioned in some previous comments,, its too criminal to have those two guitarists in one band ". I know many videos was taken down but if you see the songs Awakening/Hammer of wrath and Break the wall check them. Stay metal
Awesome reactions, I really want you to see mor eof what they do, check out another live song of them called : Scream for me (live) it has a LOT of guitar techniques and a lot of solos
Yes... I always loved and appreciated it when an actual musicians or a music teacher watch, listen and reacting to Lovebites.. It makes me appreciate these amazingly talented ladies even more.. Hope you doesn't stop here since Lovebites has tons of masterpiece music to my ears.. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
LOVEBITES: Their gimmick is their ability! - A very good Reaction video of a reactor, which can obviously play the guitar masterfully. The Lovebites motto is: "We're not here to be cute, we're here to be heavy" The white clothes - Lovebites women say: We wear these clothes because we are women and because we don't want to look like 90% of metal bands in the last 35 years.'We hope for more of you to Lovebites : They play different styles, but always hard and fast. Glad to see you caught Miho's breakout bass line in there with the arpeggios. Most miss how slick that move really is. Haruna's drumming is a favorite of many and she uses the china cymbals more than any other drummer I have seen. Uses 3 of them in her kit. Miyako said she uses the Orange cabinet because it is more focused throw than a Peavey she tried which had a much wider throw.
Thanks for doing LOVEBITES! Wolfpack appreciates your efforts! As you can tell from the comments, wolfpack is more than happy to educate you on all things Lovebites. Did you notice the PIANO on stage? Wait until you see what princess Miyako can do with that! The more you learn about Lovebites.... the more you will love them. They are "the next big thing". They are going to take over the world, once they can start playing shows outside of Japan. You barely got a TASTE of what they can do. Keep going.... so much more to discover with Lovebites. Learn their names: ASAMI - vocals, MIYAKO - guitar/piano, MIDORI - guitar, MIHO - bass, HARUNA - drums. The METAL WARRIOR PRINCESSES from JAPAN are HERE! WE ARE WOLFPACK! GO LOVEBITES! \m/
LOVEBITES - Holy War lyrics: Look at those black clouds, it’s going to rain blood People live in fear, covered in mud Singing oh Gloria to change the prophecy We are the metal warriors Fighting the darkness for sisters There is a thousand, a thousand of evils Hush, do not wake up Satan’s devils Singing Hallelujah to save our majesty We are the metal warriors Fighting the darkness for brothers Shining blade and burning heart Into the Gates of Hell we march Immortal soul, let there be light Into the Eye of Heaven Eagles at a holy war Fly higher than the sun We are one for all and all for one forevermore Kingdom of Heaven, never shall we fall Reincarnation, wait for your call Singing oh, Gloria to change the prophecy We are the metal warriors Fighting the darkness for sisters Morning star and dying moon Into the Gates of Hell we march Mighty soul, let there be hope Into the Eye of Heaven Eagles at a holy war Fly higher than the sun Stand up in the name of the God of heavy metal What do we live for? What do we fight for, tonight? Excellent reaction! Midori (Kemper) is playing an ESP E-II Horizon FR in Reindeer Blue. I have the same model, same color (but I use a Peavey head like Miyako's). Awesome guitar, though I can't recall ever seeing a blue reindeer. Interesting note on the training. Midori is a graduate of Guitar Institute of Technology. Miyako is a highly skilled concert pianist (you'll see her showcase that in songs such as "Swan song w/Miyako's solo Etude" and "Empty Daydream". Word has it, she taught herself how to play guitar, which would explain the unorthodox finger choices.
I think you should dissect Lovebites a little more. They have recorded 50 tracks over 3 albums and 3 EP’s in just 4 and a bit years. They are PROLIFIC yet not in the least repetitive. Miyako (stage left, denim effect Dean guitar) is a fully fledged concert pianist, and the piano to her left is not there for show. She’s 31 years old but only picked up the electric guitar at age 18, which May in part explain the difference in technique (me, I’d have *absolutely* no idea, just putting it out there). They are no one trick pony and they are a class act that deserves far more attention than they’ve had to date. Great reaction, I love it when someone who clearly knows what they are talking about heaps as much praise on this band as I (who can’t play a note on anything)!!
I think the difference between Midori and Miyako is that Midori learnt to play guitar at the prestigious Musicians Institute Japan in Osaka but Miyako is self-taught. I saw an article in a Japanese music magazine in 2014 in which both Midori and Miyako were identified as guitarists to watch out for. Whoever wrote that article was on the button.
@@skoob64 written in 2014, yes they certainly were. Mikayo defers to Midori in the sleeve notes on (I think) the Lovebites EP, and it’s interesting that their different routes to mastery of the instrument have inevitably led to such obviously different styles of playing. Both are obviously very passionate in every solo for example, but Midori’s passion is a kind of fire whereas Miyako’s is slow burning, smouldering!
Miyako plays the piano. Her guitar playing style is most likely influenced by her piano playing. Check out their song Epilogue, that one piano based. Note The drummer Haruna and yhe bassist Miho were in a previous band that was one of the first Japanese Female Metal bands. It was called Destrose, check out their song Fenix.
You just scratched the surface of what this band is all about from Power, Speed, Thrash, Rock, Prog, Ballad and even classical piano. Anything from this 2020 show is outstanding. Been together from Miho/bass & founder putting hem together in 2016. 1st all female metal band from Japan to play at Wacken and Bloodstock (2018) and when you realize all the great female bands in japan that says a lot. They are on another level and Midori/ESP and Miyako/Dean are opposites who blend together perfectly the Flash/shred fire of Midori and the Cool/harmonics and techie touches of Miyako are a clinic in almost every song. They are tight and LIVE they are amazing when they harmonize while sweeping, picking and at speeds that are stunning. If you want another killer band try Asterism (high school teens) who blend Metal/Rock/Jazz into a wicked fusion sound. A trio with no vocalist (their music is the vocals) try Dawn LIVE (small club due to age and lack of exposure) (th-cam.com/video/buQPvINJcA0/w-d-xo.html) Hal-Ca is 16 here on guitar and Miyu is 17 on the 7 string bass, their string work, which you see perfectly on this video, is truly stunning. They have been together since they were 11 and are a band to watch out for once they get some more exposure.
Well, this guy just discovered Lovebites, so wait until he educates himself on what he just saw. At this point, he doesn't really know anything about them. We take it for granted, because we know them. Hehehe! WOLFPACK STRONG!
Yeah, I was wondering where the idea that one of them was a secondary guitarist even came from, to be honest. The song starts with a dual lead, they both play together throughout the song, there are independent solos from each of them and then they come together for a unison harmony. There's no part of it that suggests either guitarist is "lead" or "secondary".
Lovebites and Nemophila both have two lead guitarists. Incredible band. Miyako dark hair guitarist is a concert pianist as well, does their piano, keys back tracks, when she isn’t on keys live. Try their song Scream for me, live studio. The back and forth solos. Burden of time, live studio, Miyako plays guitar and piano at same time, yeah. Midori was at Namm in Aneheim, in Jan 2020, playing in Kemper area. She is so down to earth, freindly. Midori plays ESP. Miyako plays Dean, and Les Paul. Try their song Break the wall. Miyako plays Les Paul on that. Midori more flashy, Miyako more melodic. Drummer Harunna is a beast. Akane of Band Maid as well. Tamu Murata in Nemophila incredible. All great drummers. Yengvie is an influence on Midori. Lovebites songs: Winds of Transylvannia, Edge of the world, Scream for me- studio live, Burden of Time- studio live. Nemophila songs: Dissension live, Raitei, Life. Band Maid songs: Manners, Warning, Puzzle live.
Nice to see you went for the recommendation! For being such a New band they are pretty consistent. While Midori with the purple ESP is more of a typical arpeggio-style guitarist, is Miyako more into bending and making the solos breathe. Like Gary Moore in many ways. I believe she has such a moment on Raise some hell, where the Deans have been switched out with a Les Paul. When she was invited to the band it was also for her piano skills. Though being mainly guitarist, she still has a mini-grand in the studio. ..and she also does her part in the composing, while Asami on vocals put down the lyrics since her English is pretty good. When Miho on bass and Haruna on drums left Destrose to form the band, Asami was the wild-card. She had never sung metal earlier, just some soul/r'nb. Yeah.. she had hardly heard any.
When you were talking about string skipping ala Yngwie and then said maybe more like Kiko, I thought, could be either as they both influence the guitarists. You will also hear some Gary Moore influence in other songs. Ritchie Blackmore was a big influence on Miyako. These girls know their kits very well. I am sure they have worked out phasing issues. But that is a very good catch that I hadn't noticed before. The great things is, that means they are playing live not being safe and mimicking. Lovebites is legit. Find the live video Midori and Miyako did with DragonForce for Farming Simulator. It's a lot of fun.
Lovebites is awesome,, more of them... Musicvideoos I recommend When Destinies Align for guitarsolos, Winds of Transylvania for full throttle, Glory to the world, a song for the fans but Asami the singer and Haruna the drummer really shines.... and then whatever from the Zepp Diver Tokyo concert.. The Swan song with the etude isamazing. BUT... If You really want to listen to something: Galneryus /Angel of Salvation (live)... There You have something to analyze....
Very informative reaction! If you want more Japanese metal, give Unlucky Morpheus a try. Their song CADAVER/REVADAC has a bit of a twist. With the exception of the vocals and drums, it's the same song played forward CADAVER and in reverse REVADAC. There is a sheet music video where the notes scroll across the bottom of the screen 🤘😊🤘
Absolutely love these ladies! Have not heard a bad song yet! They are tied for my most favorite band with another female Japanese metal band called Nemophila! I would recommend Raitei or Dissension MV to start. They were formed in 2019. Thank you for reacting to this video.
Easily the most badass japanese female heavy metal🤘🏻 Thank you for your reaction and analyse.. Waiting for your next reaction!✌🏻 Hope you have a great day, sir!
This band is the shit! For epic try Edge Of The World. For pure thrash try Winds Of Transylvania. For good old 80's style metal try Raise Some Hell. These beautiful ladies are the real deal.
Welcome to the treasure chest of LOVEBITES songs. They have "woke"(no political intent) an old and grey metel head. In my opinion they are one of the best band i ever have heard. Asamis Altocolored voice that she can vary to trash/speed/classical. The others in the band are outstandingly skilled musicians. It`s a pure pleasure to here them. I have been bitten Love from Sweden
Great reaction. Lovebites are a fantastic band, you should react to more of their songs. Also funny that you mentioned Kiko Loureiro, because Midori is a big Angra fan and has indeed named him as an inspiration. Some more Japanese metal bands include Galneryus, Unlucky Morpheus, Sabbat, Aldious, Mary's Blood, Nemophila, Sigh, Loudness, Anthem, Church of Misery, Intestine Baalism ... There are many. As for metalcore/deathcore you should give Crystal Lake, Dexcore, Crossfaith, Deviloof and Hanabie a listen.
Great dissection, Best metal band to emerge in 30 years since Maiden and Priest. Been there since day 1 in 2017. ALL GLORY to LOVEBITES and all my brothers and sisters in The Wolf Pack everywhere.!
Midori, the blonde guitarist, plays an ESP E-II Horizon FR in this video. Its color is reindeer blue, but she has a black one that she uses when a different tuning is required. She also has an ESP Arrow in newer videos, and in older videos, she uses a white ESP E-II FRX. As you said, she plays through Kemper and uses Marshall cabs. Miyako, the brunette guitarist, is playing a Dean USA Icon. The color is faded denim. She has a Dean signature V and has played a Dean Switchblade ML before. She also uses Gibson Les Paul and Explorer for various songs. Her standard combo is Peavey and Orange. She's a world class pianist, also, having played since she was three. There are photos of her on her Instagram playing a keytar. She was previously endorsed by S7G (Strictly-Seven Guitars). Miho, the bass guitarist, plays ESP Amaze bass guitars with custom pick guards through Dark Harmonics amps and cabs. She put the band together after her old band, Destrose, finally crumbled after going through a ton of members that formed their own bands. Haruna, the drummer, plays Sabian and Pearl. She has decorative "cymbals" around her set that she and other, usually Asami, spins at various points in various songs. Haruna is apparently the shortest member of the band at 4' 9" and also makes miniature fake food. She was in Destrose with Miho. Haruna and BAND-MAID's Akane Hirose, the two happiest drummers ever, follow each other on Instagram. Asami, the vocalist, was primarily a soul and R&B singer who also sang backup for a handful of rock bands. She wanted to try something different, so she put out a rock demo that found its way to Miho. She's 4' 10" or 4' 11", so standing on risers is something you'll see her doing a lot. As others have said, neither Midori nor Miyako are the second guitarist. For NAMM 2020, Midori was Kemper's guest guitarist, and Miyako was there for Peavey. Both of them have built their own guitars that they've used on stage. As far as where to go next, I would suggest the live version of "Empty Daydream." Miyako starts off with a gorgeous piano solo, it's a fantastic song that shows Asami's vocal skill, and it's kind of their version of a metal ballad. Kind of. I didn't want to hit you with all of the heavy all at once! Here's a link. th-cam.com/video/lXh_uMM94jU/w-d-xo.html If you want to check out another Japanese metal band, you've hit all of my big names except for two, Unlucky Morpheus and Galneryus. Unlucky Morpheus called their music "technical melodic speed metal," while Galneryus is power metal with a massive classical influence. There's no real "wrong" song to start off with for Unlucky Morpheus, but I like "Knight of Sword" for people who have a musical education as I find it to be one of their more musical songs. th-cam.com/video/TiQdl2toBtg/w-d-xo.html As for Galneryus, it's hard to recommend any song other than "Angel of Salvation." The live version is one of the most epic songs I've heard in my 42 years, but it's a long one. The video is 18 minutes long, but the actual song is just over 16 minutes. th-cam.com/video/vSP8-qelldA/w-d-xo.html
I’ve prolly watched all Holy War reactions and you’re the first one to wonder the same thing that caught my attention, they both seem to use middle finger instead of ring finger in bendings. One would think it’s harder to do with middle, but nevertheless, they nailed it. Their playing is always flawless. If you want to see black haired Miyako playing guitar with left hand while playing keyboard solo on the right, check their Burden Of Time Studio Live for example. This group should already be world’s biggest power metal band. West doesn’t know what they are missing in Japanese female metal bands. Best reaction of the song, by far. Keep it up!
To piggyback off of the others, yes, Miyako is playing a Dean. In fact, she's a Dean exclusive artist, while Midori is an ESP exclusive artist. One of Miyako's biggest influences is Dimebag Darrell, which is why she went with Dean. She uses one of his models from time to time, but also now has her own signature model. Her other big influence is Gary Moore, so you can see where she goes off of more feel with metal, blues and fusion, while Midori coming from Musicians Institute (think Guitar Institute of Technology, where the likes of Paul Gilbert and others came from) is the complete and utter Malmsteen-influenced technician. Midori is playing an ESP-II Horizon, but is in talks for having her own signature ESP model as well. Miho, the bassist, is playing an ESP jazz bass, similar to how Steve Harris plays the Fender Jazzmaster bass for Iron Maiden. Both Midori and Miyako played at NAMM in 2020, and basically stole the entire trade show. To date, that is the only appearance of anyone from LoveBites in North America.
Magistral su reacción para analizar cada instrumento , las guitarras, el bajo, la baterista y la vocalista, USTED ES UN PROFESIONAL EN LA MATERIA del Rock , Congratulation
Is it just me or the more dominant finger tapping in all three rounds came from Midori channel? Look at the moment when Miho did finger tapping, Midori did too. Great reaction. Please do more of them, and welcome!
Thanks for bringing up Lovebites. There are many more and even better songs in my optinion. For example: Raise some Hell, Break the Wall, Swan Song, etc.
Nice channel you had here sir. I like how minimalist it is. Its like watching instructional videos. Check there studio live version of scream for me. Its a shred feast.
Man .... I still can't believe you diddn't react to ..... (and, yes, there are a ton of requests, but ... you're a guitar man) but I don't give up, so I hope you can find the time to react to this TOP LINEUP OF MANY MUSICAL INTRUMENTS/SINGERS: The Source is the 9th studio album from *AYREON* , a progressive metal/rock opera project by Dutch musician Arjen (Ahr-Yun) Anthony Lucassen, released on April 28, 2017. *_”The Day That The World Breaks Down”_* is a song that features all 11 (quite well known) main guest singers (you’ll be surprised) and is taken from that album. Arjen himself is telling (in subtitles) who the singers are and which instruments are used and by which standards. Btw. This creative unusual/original clip is 13 min. long and I think you won’t regret it !! Official (Arjen’s) clip: th-cam.com/video/oFuMKdrzPqU/w-d-xo.html Btw2. I can hear you say .... "why didn't I hear of this before"!! ....... your bad 😉 (100 %).
There’s a wealth of very talented all women bands coming out of Japan. There’s still a ton more of Lovebites to review (I’m partial to Hammer of Wrath”). Then look for Nemophila, another great band that plays a different style of metal (check out Dissension and Raitei). A fantastic hard rock band that’s a bit proggish is Band-Maid (No God, Warning and Different are my recs).
Lifelong all-female Japanese hard rock/metal fan here. More bands to check out (no particular order): Show-Ya (godmothers of the genre), Aldious, Mary's Blood, Nemophila, Bridear, Fate Gear, Unlucky Morpheus, Band-Maid, Destrose, Cynthia. The list goes on. Metal is kept alive in Japan by girls and they're all world-class. Suggestion for next-up: Nemophila - th-cam.com/channels/voAeGZoC8giXP59NOZABIA.htmlvideos See e.g. 2 of their Iron Maiden (studio live) covers to appreciate how good they are and 2 recent originals (performed live at 2021 Naon@Yaon) festival to see their badass side.
Love Bites are one of my favorite bands at the moment. Great reaction. Interesting insights, especially for a non player like myself. When you have gone through the Love Bites requests another great Japanese metal band is Unlucky Morpheus. They combine a powerful female vocalist with a screamer, guitars and even a brilliant violinist! Black Pentagram is a good song of theirs to begin with. The studio version is great but they are awesome live too!
I am not sure if it would be of any interest to you, but there's this crazy metal band called Versailles with songs like Masquerade or Faith and Decision. They are extremely technical.
I think one can say that Lovebites are remaking metal and giving it an entire new lease on life. Other reviewers have described them as alien superheroes disguised as young women, angels sent to save us, princesses of metal, and angry bridesmaids. They have themselves said in interviews that part of their mission is to save heavy metal from darkness and obscurity. Some background: They were formed from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981). Miho (bass, chief metalhead and soul of the band) recruited her former bandmate Haruna (drums, 4'9" “pocket nuke”); they went and found the two guitarists, Midori and Miyako, who were with other bands, and the whole group then found Asami, the singer, who was doing soul and blues at the time (she also trained in ballet). Miho and Miyako compose most of their music, in collaboration with Mao, the lead composer of another band called Lightbringer, but Midori has also been getting into the act. Asami writes a lot of the lyrics. They have only been around for just shy of 5 years. They studied all the great historical metal bands going back to Purple and Sabbath, through Maiden, Priest, Metallica, Slayer etc. and they pretty much aced it all. They toured with Dragonforce in 2019, and word from those in attendance is that next time around, it will be the ladies headlining. They have incorporated some of the best of each of those bands into their arsenal, and it seems clear they’re taking it to another level. This is one of their usual first songs for reactors, and rightly so--you get a good sense of the band. They do everything from soulful power ballads to heavy thrash, and almost every song includes face-melting solos by Miyako and Midori. The two guitarists are quite different in style and tone. Midori (blonde ponytail) is the extrovert and speed demon; Miyako is the introvert, with the more soulful feel. Midori uses a cleaner tone, Miyako uses more distortion, pinch harmonics and pedal effects. The contrast makes their duets rich and dynamic. It doesn’t hurt that either one can smoke most of the shredders in the classic metal bands. (As another reactor said, "It seems criminal these two are allowed to be in the same band.") Miyako is also a concert-level classical pianist, and some of their songs feature her on the piano. Other live songs to check out are "Edge of the World" and "We the United", back to back: th-cam.com/video/sl0-U-ykJCU/w-d-xo.html They form an incredible journey from darkness and despair to light and hope. If you want to see what they do with the piano, watch “Swan Song” WITH the prelude, which is Chopin’s “Revolutionary Etude”. Miyako wrote “Swan Song” using elements from several classical pieces including the Etude. You’ll have to watch two clips back to back: th-cam.com/video/hDBjiQI9cyc/w-d-xo.html and th-cam.com/video/uEsEWISc8Q0/w-d-xo.html For a heart-stopping ballad, “Epilogue” th-cam.com/video/1ynnXDfEnnY/w-d-xo.html (this includes a second song, your choice whether or not to react to both) Finally, while everyone says always go with live clips, I have to say, these MV’s are epic and worth seeing: "When Destinies Align" th-cam.com/video/hLFelI93VkM/w-d-xo.html "Glory to the World" th-cam.com/video/-wJtD2XEXH4/w-d-xo.html "Winds of Transylvania" th-cam.com/video/HsE4Ub_Pjh8/w-d-xo.html. You can’t go wrong with any of their official clips. You'll get lots of suggestions, just one thing: don't bother with Bloodstock footage, the sound quality is poor. Best to take suggestions with actual links. Welcome to the Wolf-Pack!
f you want to hear more of Lovebites here are their best songs We The United, Spellbound, Scream For Me daughters of the dawn 2019 which has 14 guitar solos in it, The Crusade, Thunder Vengeance, Break the Wall, Burden of Time Studio Live, Rising, Raise Some Hell, Edge of the World, Set The World on Fire, Glory to the World Music Video, Shadowmaker Music Video, Swan Song with Chopin intro, Epilogue, Empty Daydream, Hammer of Wrath, When Destines Align and Eagles Fly Free studio and they had to replace the bassist in this video and since they got their new bassist they released 2 music videos and the songs are badass they are called Judgment Day and Stand And Deliver please react to all of these and please let me know what you think
Great band, great guitar work & as usual, great reaction. As a matter of interest D J, have you any more Amira reactions lined up? If not, & you would like some suggestions, I recommend the following: …. …. Flower Duet with Corlea Botha. Amira aged 13. Pls select the concert performance …. …. Hallelujah, aged 14. She sings ( repeats) just the one word for the entire song, but absolutely brilliant. …. …. Sound of music medley. She sings about one octave above the original by Julie Andrews and nails it. I love your reaction style & your informative comments & would appreciate you slotting her into your somewhat massive listings. Cheers, Graeme. ps. Would appreciate a yes or a no when you get half a minute.
They all write songs with Miyako the Primary writer and Asami and Miho the lyricists. Miyako has her own home studio with her grand piano. They send the songs to Finland for final production. They want a European metal sound. Just prior the the Covid Shutdown they toured with Dragon force.
Great reaction! I feel like if you like LOVEBITES you'll love another Japanese metal band called Unlucky Morpheus. They are a symphonic speed metal band that also features a violin! Very interesting sound and great music. The two songs I recommend checking out are CADAVER/REVADAC With sheet music, and Angreifer (Live).
if you love the guitarists of lovebites check out their song Scream For Me daughters of the dawn live tokyo 2019 there are 14 guitar solos in this one song please let me know what you think
you should react to Lovebites Swan Song with chopin intro it shows you how talented they really are or empty daydreams live please let me know what you think
Lovebites are for me the best female metalband on earth. But I also like other Japanese female metal and rockbands like Band-Maid, Mary's Blood and Nemophila. They are all very talented.
Want to dive into more Japanese metal bands, eh? Oh boy...there is almost too many. And I say that as a good thing. My recommendation would be Nemophila. They are on fire right now, imo. Their song Dissension is a fun one to start out with.
There is no first and second guitarist IMHO. Midori is a super fast shredder and Miyako is a musical genius. Both are equally bad ass on guitar, but Miyako has the upper hand in the band as she is actually much better on piano and also write most of the music for the band.
Why if you "loved it" so much do you not react to any more lovebites as you have done to most other bands? You obviously know your stuff so I'd have thought that a 5 piece band of virtuoso musicians would be perfect to react to.
Next try they song "Swan song" or "Winds of Transylvania"
Stay safe, and keep on lovebitten🤘

All their album mixing and mastering is done by Karmila and Jussila, the same Finnish team that does Nightwish and other metal bands.
everyone of them plays piano oh great one of knowledge look it up
What a great analysis of this fantastic band!
Unfortunately the Swan Song video with piano intro is no longer available, but you can watch it here:

Lovebites Edge of the World . Starts off slow and mellow and increases gradually to a fast pace song.
Those who can... do. Those who can't... teach.
Princess Miyako's Peavey amp head is a 6505+. ( Basically.... a modern version of the 5150 )
@@TheCyberMantis thank you, mantis. 120 watt tube amp top and cabinet with two 12 " Vintage celestions. what a tasteful and excellent sounding choice
Stay metal

Glad to see you caught Miho's breakout bass line in there with the arpeggios. Most miss how slick that move really is. LOVEBITES - Holy War lyrics:
Look at those black clouds, it’s going to rain blood
People live in fear, covered in mud
Singing oh Gloria to change the prophecy
We are the metal warriors
Fighting the darkness for sisters
There is a thousand, a thousand of evils
Hush, do not wake up Satan’s devils
Singing Hallelujah to save our majesty
We are the metal warriors
Fighting the darkness for brothers
Shining blade and burning heart
Into the Gates of Hell we march
Immortal soul, let there be light
Into the Eye of Heaven
Eagles at a holy war
Fly higher than the sun
We are one for all and all for one forevermore
Kingdom of Heaven, never shall we fall
Reincarnation, wait for your call
Singing oh, Gloria to change the prophecy
We are the metal warriors
Fighting the darkness for sisters
Morning star and dying moon
Into the Gates of Hell we march
Mighty soul, let there be hope
Into the Eye of Heaven
Eagles at a holy war
Fly higher than the sun
Stand up in the name of the God of heavy metal
What do we live for? What do we fight for, tonight?
But the world is beautiful, worth fighting for
Only have one thing on our mind
Facing the fate, holy war
Singing Hallelujah to save our majesty
We are the metal warriors
Fighting the darkness for brothers
Shining blade and burning heart
Into the Gates of Hell we march
Immortal soul, let there be light
Into the Eye of Heaven
Eagles at a holy war
Fly higher than the sun
We are one for all and for one forevermore
What do we live for? What do we fight for, tonight?
But the world is beautiful, worth fighting for
Only have one thing on our mind
Facing the fate, holy war

Good reaction, MOOOOOOOORREEEEEEE.
"Secondary Guitar Player" 🤣
No such position exists in Lovebites. They are co-leads.
@@PaulEMoz Lovebites is an all-star dream-team. A virtuoso at every position. No weak link.

Midori and miyako we can see they have different influence from their solos.. but the combination is very perfect just like Ying & Yang.

Miyako on the Dean is inspired by Blackmore and Gary Moore whereas Midori on the purple guitar likes more like Bettencourt and Maalmsteen
Princess Midori is also inspired by Kiko Loureiro and Michael Romeo!

If you want to check out another Japanese metal band, you've hit all of my big names except for two, Unlucky Morpheus and Galneryus. Unlucky Morpheus called their music "technical melodic speed metal," while Galneryus is power metal with a massive classical influence.
There's no real "wrong" song to start off with for Unlucky Morpheus, but I like "Knight of Sword" for people who have a musical education as I find it to be one of their more musical songs.
th-cam.com/video/TiQdl2toBtg/w-d-xo.html
As for Galneryus, it's hard to recommend any song other than "Angel of Salvation." The live version is one of the most epic songs I've heard in my 42 years, but it's a long one. The video is 18 minutes long, but the actual song is just over 16 minutes.

Miho Miho Miho!
Hi, Miyako also plays a Gibson Les Paul, a Gibson Explorer and the Telecaster style guitar she built with her guitar tech last year during lock down.
Magistral su reacción para analizar cada instrumento , las guitarras, el bajo, la baterista y la vocalista, USTED ES UN PROFESIONAL EN LA MATERIA del Rock , Congratulation
LOL I know it's your first time. But they don't need the advise. If you stick around, you'll understand why. They're not young armature's.
Lovebites will be in the U.S. in September in Dallas Los Angeles and San Francisco (May be more cities and dates added )
Official (Arjen’s) clip: th-cam.com/video/oFuMKdrzPqU/w-d-xo.html
Btw2. I can hear you say .... "why didn't I hear of this before"!! ....... your bad 😉 (100 %).
I was truly blown away by this song. So powerful, not the least the voice of Asami: wow!
...and one should not stop during a guitar solo. I know they have long solos, but.........at least you went back. We'll forgive you this one time 😎
すごいです!
ありがとうございます
Great reaction !
you should react to more lovebites songs live, 2020, 2021 and 2023
There’s a wealth of very talented all women bands coming out of Japan. There’s still a ton more of Lovebites to review (I’m partial to Hammer of Wrath”). Then look for Nemophila, another great band that plays a different style of metal (check out Dissension and Raitei). A fantastic hard rock band that’s a bit proggish is Band-Maid (No God, Warning and Different are my recs).
th-cam.com/video/x1jlQMczdpw/w-d-xo.html
Check out Unlucky Morphious Cadaver Fumiya drum play through, it's the song but shown from the drum kit, really good for someone to analyze the drums
Suggestion for next-up: Nemophila - th-cam.com/channels/voAeGZoC8giXP59NOZABIA.htmlvideos
See e.g. 2 of their Iron Maiden (studio live) covers to appreciate how good they are and 2 recent originals (performed live at 2021 Naon@Yaon) festival to see their badass side.

THEY ARE THE BOMB😊
You can set your watch to Harana’s drumbeats.
Look at 11:44 when Miyako moves her left hand twice maybe seven frets in one frame par move and hits it perfectly. How can anyone be so fast?
Definitely check out Swan Song with the Chopin Etude introduction.
Yes folks love does bite, but in a good way!!!!
Some background:
They were formed from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981).
You’ll have to watch two clips back to back: th-cam.com/video/hDBjiQI9cyc/w-d-xo.html and th-cam.com/video/uEsEWISc8Q0/w-d-xo.html
For a heart-stopping ballad, “Epilogue” th-cam.com/video/1ynnXDfEnnY/w-d-xo.html (this includes a second song, your choice whether or not to react to both)
Finally, while everyone says always go with live clips, I have to say, these MV’s are epic and worth seeing:
"When Destinies Align" th-cam.com/video/hLFelI93VkM/w-d-xo.html
"Glory to the World" th-cam.com/video/-wJtD2XEXH4/w-d-xo.html
"Winds of Transylvania" th-cam.com/video/HsE4Ub_Pjh8/w-d-xo.html.
If not, & you would like some suggestions, I recommend the following:
…. …. Flower Duet with Corlea Botha. Amira aged 13. Pls select the concert performance
The left guitarist Midori rips an ESP horizon ef2..
They all write songs with Miyako the Primary writer and Asami and Miho the lyricists. Miyako has her own home studio with her grand piano. They send the songs to Finland for final production. They want a European metal sound. Just prior the the Covid Shutdown they toured with Dragon force.
Check out Swarm Song or Epilogue if you want be overwhelmed of skills :) Live ofc
yes please give me technical and theory knowledge!
Hell yeah Lovebites!
if you love the guitarists of lovebites check out their song Scream For Me daughters of the dawn live tokyo 2019 there are 14 guitar solos in this one song please let me know what you think
you should react to Lovebites Swan Song with chopin intro it shows you how talented they really are or empty daydreams live please let me know what you think
The singer's the best musician in the band, Guitarist teachers have blindspot for that.
Check out Fate Gear next, they have a song called "Battle Against Justice" that was made for their European fanbase.
If Disney princesses were amazons and world class musicians…
Lovebites are for me the best female metalband on earth. But I also like other Japanese female metal and rockbands like Band-Maid, Mary's Blood and Nemophila. They are all very talented.
New bandmaid video going up in 2 hours 🙃
Yes ,yes teacher is 100000000000 people....omg
Want to dive into more Japanese metal bands, eh? Oh boy...there is almost too many. And I say that as a good thing. My recommendation would be Nemophila. They are on fire right now, imo. Their song Dissension is a fun one to start out with.
th-cam.com/video/x1jlQMczdpw/w-d-xo.html
There is no first and second guitarist IMHO. Midori is a super fast shredder and Miyako is a musical genius. Both are equally bad ass on guitar, but Miyako has the upper hand in the band as she is actually much better on piano and also write most of the music for the band.
Listen to their *Break the Wall* song.

Why if you "loved it" so much do you not react to any more lovebites as you have done to most other bands? You obviously know your stuff so I'd have thought that a 5 piece band of virtuoso musicians would be perfect to react to.
