Paramparik, for more than 22 years, has remained a unique organization with a unique vision, in the city of joy, a well known name in the Indian Classical music circles - for no-frills music that has mijaz, raagdari, and melody. Founded in 2001 by the Kotali Gharana exponent Ruchira Panda, it started with the famed annual classical conference and then in 2003 the rural education and medical units became functional. Today Paramparik is very well known in the remote villages of Bengal - due to a very successful Grad/Post-Grad Scholarship Program for financially poor students. At the same time, almost all the greats of Hindustani Classical Music have performed on the Paramparik stage.
