It's an arbitrary amount chosen to promote walking, but recent research shows there's no more health benefits in terms of cardiovascular disease, cancer etc. when you get 8000 steps! Everyone should definitely do what feels good but this has helped me to not feel discouraged because I was doing better than I thought I was

I love this idea! An easy way to get protein in is to make some protein ice cream or add protein powder to your oatmeal or yogurt. Two books I recommend are Living Beyond Your Feelings by Joyce Meyer or the third book of the housemaid is watching series comes out 6/11!
