    Your frustrations are so valid. Sometimes the staff becomes a bit robotic or jaded and the humanity and compassion take a backseat and it's so unfortunate. Being assertive and pushing to get the answers you need and getting them to hear you is so necessary. even though it can be uncomfortable. My daughter's been in and out of the hospital most of her life since birth and I was quite young when I had her so getting staff to take me seriously was a learning process. I call it being politely aggressive and it really does work wonders and I hope and they sort it out for you guys. My girls and I pray for your family during our devotions every week for healing for Bethany, health for the new baby and the kids, and patience, strength, and endurance for the two of you as parents and partners. Sending you all the good vibes 🖤

    Yeah the receptionists my my local practice are more like nightclub bouncers now- 'not tonight pal' is the general response. 😂
    However I respect that it's a difficult role to play, esp now and thank them for all they do, but a little compassion would not go a miss.
    I hope Bethany get the help she needs soon.
    Thanks again guys for being so open, honest and real. Showing us what realy family life is. ❤️

    As someone who is like Bethany, thank you Dan for advocating for her! It's so important to advocate for your health, and I totally understand this struggle. I feel the same way about my GP sometimes, it feels like they don't really listen to you. Keep calling and don't give up! Sending you all so much love

    It’s good to see Bethany back in the vlog💜 I understand how you feel with ur local gp reception team, am at ellon practice and I’ve had the same issues as you with reception staff and they can be very rude to myself on the phone and when they ask the nature of the problem and you don’t want to say they insist that they know like they are drs. Xx

    Same frustrations felt with me and my husband this year and last. I was misdiagnosed with MS.... terrible experience when we moved transferring between GP practices, almost in tears this week trying to get a doctors appointment for my husband.... I understand ❤❤❤❤❤

    I am bedbound with a disability and I have had my nursing visits cut from 3x a week to 1 and my carer was told to deal with the dressing and this was by a very rude charge nurse who has never met me or seen my wounds, she wasn’t nice to my carer either. So I have taken it further also as this is no way to treat patients or carers. My carer said to them if I am stuck I need proof you guys are there to assist me etc or if she’s off they need to help me as it has to work both ways. The nurse who was in agreed and said they are just short staffed.
    Hope you guys are ok.

    Love that you’re working with a baby bank - would love to see finished video. Fully understand your frustrations. My mum has had terrible problems with our surgery trying to sort out things for my Dad and getting nowhere with rudeness along the way. A friend in the next town to us has also had the same issues. You wait weeks to get appointment and just get brushed off as if it’s not really important you see someone. Once you get to the actual doctor it’s fine. Praying Bethany gets sorted soon and can just enjoy her pregnancy (well, as much as pregnancies can be enjoyed 😂)

      It's so frustrating that others are experiencing this kind of thing too, especially when you're just looking to get help! Ughhhh. I hope your mum and dad are ok!

    I’m glad you went further and spoke to manager. I am the same as Bethany with my health. Our GP receptionist is rude, abrupt and really unhelpful. I just go along with it and get appt and be done. My dad though he stopped her and said excuse me, is there a problem talking to me? And she stopped and was like ohh no no. We have the econsult thing as well. I noticed this week it has changed though and if you know your nhs number, you can skip all the filling in details. So maybe ask for your number? My mum has had a allergic reaction to the antibiotics they gave recently and now they are calling her daily and seeing her to make sure she is ok. I hope things get better and you fell better soon Bethany.

      Ugghhhh that sounds so similar to ours. So good that your dad said something! And glad that they are really looking after your mum, that sounds good. I feel so much better having spoken to the practice manager about Bethany. Since then she had 2 calls with a doc who has prescribed something completely different and send to be very helpful which is a massive relief ❤️ hope you & your family are ok!

    Bethany, I’m praying you get a break soon. You must be feeling so frustrated. I work in community healthcare and I’m seeing so many patients being neglected because of covid or changes to appointments/home visits etc.

      Thank you so much for your prayers ❤️ what do you do? We spoke to a local nurse recently who said the same thing. I get that healthcare procedures have to change with covid precautions etc but there must be a better way of working that enables patients who need help to be able to get the help that they need!     Ah man, I so feel for you with the doctors. I've had a nightmare with mine and the receptionists can be so blunt and rude at times when all you want is some care and understanding. I really hope Bethany gets help soon, 2020 can do one eh?!

    Hey guys! Was so lovely to see Bethany back in the vlog! Not that we dont love seeing Dan and the kids but I've been worried about her! I've had a few bad experiences with my local gp surgery but haven't had to deal with them for a while. I get chronic ear infections so I'm constantly in pain from them bit I only phone them if I know that I need antibiotics but even then its a war with admin to actually speak to a doctor. However I have to say, due to Covid-19 my practice have gone to phone triage appointments and its been so great. My son has bad eczema that got infected and I phoned the surgery at 4:30pm on Friday. Doctor called back at 4:45, I picked up a prescription for antibiotics for him at 5pm. Could they not offer Beth a phone appointment at least? Xx

    I'm really feeling your frustration regarding surgeries I have been feeling unwell for close to 3 weeks now like covid symptoms thought it was a cold havent hardly been out then my breathing got bad which made me worry had a covid test Friday came back negative Monday spoke to surgery I can hardly say a sentence as out of breath surgery was like well unfortunately this that and the other and u can't come in for chest to be listened too, I started crying on phone my other hlf took over and had to be almost rude in the end got antibiotics, a diagnosis over the phone ! Great I'm 3 days in tabs so we will c. I really hope you get sorted soon I think the NHS surgeries need to realise there are other ailments other than covid going on ...take care xxxx

    I feel so bad for bethany and what she’s gone through this year. My dads receptionist is exactly the same as hers and it really frustrates him too. I hope you guys are all doing ok though

      Thank you ❤️ thankfully since that difficult call we got connected with a doctor who has been very helpful which is a massive relief! I hope your dad is ok and that he's getting through to a doc when he needs to. Don't understand why so many others have the same experience with receptionists at medical practices!
