In this video we will discover the hidden power of the caban, and we will see several examples to learn how to use it in three cushion billiards.
In the first chapter we will see a brief definition of what we call a cabin.
In the second chapter we will see what is the hidden power of the cabin.
In the third chapter we will see several carambola where we can use the power of the cabin.
In the fourth and last chapter we will see the projection system.
Let's start by looking at what the caban is.
The caban is a small house, in billiards certain areas of the table are called a caban, which in themselves are small or scale tables.
The most used scales are a quarter and a half.
The red rectangle shows a quarter-size table.
The green rectangle shows a half-size table.
Now let's find out what is the hidden power of the caban.
The hidden power of the caban is that it allows us to see the short cushion as if it were a long cushion, and thus we can use the long cushion systems even when we play by short cushion!
To explain it better, let's see an example:
The image shows a carom known as an eight or double turn. From the classical system or LKL, we know that if the ball one achieves to enter the diagonal shown by the double white arrow, we will achieve the carom.
In the graph on the right we show a long cushion system that we previously published and that we use as a reference to play this position as if it were a cajon or caban carom!
A great advantage of this technique is that we have a close point of reference in the second cushion and this allows us to better visualize the play and have a better “feeling” when playing!
This simple trick is a very powerful tool that will help us improve our technique in 3 cushion billiards!
To strengthen the caban technique, let's see more examples:
In the position presented on the screen, we know that if our ball enters the diagonal of the double white arrow, and according to the classical system or LKL, we will be able to perform the carom.
This is NOT a simple carom, but if we use the power of the caban, we can play it as if it were a ball pass on long rail, as shown in the figure to the right.
Here's an additional variable, and that is that the starting point is off the table. In the next chapter we will see a simple system of projections to solve for this variable.
In the representation that we have in front, we see an example of how to use the caban for a small table.
In this case, we can use the system "previous tube two cushions" or tickie, shown in the image on the right.
The possibilities that the caban technique offers us are endless and these will only depend on our imagination and creativity!
In the portrait we see on the screen, we show another example of how to use the quarter-size table.
In this case we can use the system "tube previous a cushion" or tickie, shown in the graph on the right.
Finally let's look at the projection system.
The projection system is explained in the video of the ball and effect system, however let's see how it is used in the caban technique.
At the beginning of the video we present the position shown on the screen. But we do not explain how to calculate the exit point 6.5, and that in the ball-by-long rail pass system, the 1.5 effect corresponds to this starting point to achieve a corner turn.
The diagram to the right shows the formula for the projection system and how we use it to calculate the value 6.5.
This technique with experience, and repetition, ends up being something simple and mechanical.
In the carom shown in the image, we see another case where we must use the projection system before proceeding to apply the caban system shown in the figure on the right.
Keep in mind that since we play 4 cushions, we must use a speed greater than that used in a normal cajón or caban and this in some cases implies making small adjustments.
As always, it is best to verify it at the gaming table.

cierto, lo tendré en cuenta para grabar una sesión de entrenamiento de esa técnica!
