Nothing's changed really. The only difference is that the internet has become more common over time and you've become older and more experienced. I can guarantee you that most people will think fondly back to their childhood and remember it as a better time, simply because they weren't aware of the bullshit going on at the time.
This isn't a bad thing, but the only thing real change over the last few years is how easy it is to feed your own ego online - it's not changed how people are, just the tools available to them.

Kingdom hearts 3 just had its re-mind dlc released and the secret ending (spoilers) shows Yozora and a few stuff that relate to what used to be final fantasy versus XIII and people probably started to search about it and TH-cam started to suggest this video cuz it started to get some more views and attention

lol i finished remind and suddenly started re-experiencing my disappointment of playing ffxv, then I went and rewatched all of the versus XIII trailers and this popped up. now i am watching this video crying the edgiest of tears wishing ffxv was a good game

I think if they kept this concept of the game as the original idea in my oppinion I think they could have added more to it.
Loved the XV we got, but seeing this makes me wonder how awesome it would've been if we got this instead. However one thing we can all agree on: If this version was released, we wouldn't have the beautifully acted and amazing antagonist that is Ardyn Izunia
From what I remember about Versus development all they had was basically what this video showed and Nomura kept changing the concept of the game. When Tabata got it all he had to work with was the main character, Regis, Cor, and Aldecorpt and a general idea of what Nomura wanted. But honestly XV is just a more lighthearted Versus.

That's fine, considering that is Nomura kept changing the Core Concepts, than it already made it difficult to pinpoint where Most of the plot was going, sometimes it really is best to just start from the beginning and polish it up.

Not too shit on the current ffxv cause I think its a 'fine' game It definitely has it flaws and no havent played royal edition but I think if this design and noctis character here was in the game I think it would have been one of the best ff games
Remember when Final Fantasy XV was supposed to be a game about a culture that worshipped death and gods of death with an in-depth trilogy esc plot, but was scrapped because of religious censorship in China in exchange for a boy band themed “get the girl” cliche story.

I remember the hype that fans had during that year, when the game was announced but still into the development for ten+ years. A shame really.
Nobody's gonna talk about how Yozora and Noctis ended up in totally different games but were in the same car at the beginning

This is 10 times better with 2021 hindsight.

Haha. Recommended to me right before ReMind comes out. I remember there were stickers of this version of Noctis in Dissidia 012... Now, wasn't this, FFXIII, and Type-0 all supposed to be in the same universe and part of one interconnected story? Sad we never got it. FFXV was alright.
But, it looks like Kingdom Hearts and Verum Rex may become what was Versus XIII. Who knows?
It was! And if i remember correctly versus 13 and 13 were scheduled to release in like the same week or something, i also remember it was supposed to be like an exclusive, so there were complaints about it not being on xbox lol, and type-0 came to the west like reaaaally late

That’s right I remember now. Versus 13 had a dark gothic tone to it originally noctis was a follower of some death goddess I think? Compared to ff 15 he seems more like a j pop celebrity teenager. Not really the protagonist I was hoping for.

You know, seeing this video, and remembering how Versus XIII was suppose to be back in 2006, makes me wish that this hasn't been truly canceled................
On the bright side though, we'll see Noctis/Yozora, Noctis's gang (Gladiolus, Ignis, and Prompto), and possibly Stella in Kingdom Hearts 4, along with Sora and Riku. We can only hope everyone finally comes back.....🙏

The game is so fucking emotional. I beat it with 18 hours of game play (all the side missions are done) and it was hardddd. level up as much as possible before taking him on. have lots of phoenix downs xD
