It's an absolute travesty that Starrk didn't get a cover. Though the covers that we got for the Fake Karakura arc (while he was alive) all made sense

Late answer but, the title of every chapter and volume are just amazing and volume worthy, the title for volume 6 "the death trilogy overture" basically translates to "the start of the shinigami trilogy" refering to the end of the substitue shinigami arc with Rukia's kidnap, soul society: sneak entry and soul society: the rescue arc
The one with Yoruichi on the cover is iconic
FUN FACT:
At the start of Each volume Kubo has written very beautiful and inspiring POEMS related to those volumes. Which also shows the POETIC side of Kubo's writing and is not surprising cuz everything or character in Bleach is poetically written. Truly Kubo-sensei how can I thank you ?

@@br5073 not most but yeah some characters do get the shaft but this happens in almost every manga. It doesnt take from the fact that Kubo designs them with meaning in mind. And yeah dont worry about TYBW arc cuz Kubo is on it and in the anime you will see everything you want cuz kubo was only able to write very less of it.
@@kushagrasharma5402 poem at the end of each volume? The poem appears at the start of the volume before the contents page, and the poem is related to the cover character
@@kushagrasharma5402 I know the final arc was rushed, cut short and didn't show everything kubo wanted to show but please stop spreading false information. You totally made up that 40% number and there's absolutely no information on whether the anime adaptation will have any changes or if it will follow the manga every step of the way.
@@Sanji_Vinsmoke_69 wth?? i am not spreading lies , On KLUBOUTSIDE in a very recent Q/A Kubo himself admitted he wanted to do so much with characters like Rangiku's backstory, Grimmjow, Nel, Uryu and that he plan to add many things in the anime that he wasnt able to write and just for your info BLEACH WAS SUPPOSED TO END IN 2021 or 2018 so its a no brainer the arc was half of what kubo planned.

IMO Vol. 15's symbolizes Kira's ruthless battle philosophy while the white gaps references that he still has a moral compass, such as when he referred to himself as a monster for drawing his blade on Momo. The prison may foreshadow his fate as a 'prisoner' in his own ruined body postwar.

I was surprised that Goodbye Halcyon Days was not on the list, I felt it was so impactful and emotional and that comes from someone who is not a fan of Orihime, but I feel the volume cover really speaks the emotions of her departure to Hueco Mundo.
But it's hard to rank these, and I absolutely agree with number 1 and 2, those covers were absolutely amazing
The thing that I liked the from bleach manga covers are they designed it similar to a fashion magazine style

ichigos outfit in vol 49 reminds me of the sternritters with it being white and the buttons on his coats

Love your choices. As someone who works with fashion illustration a lot I always loved the kind of for these type of illustrations reseverd style and shading. I recognize this style in kubos drawings and that is what I admire him for to this day. I guess my teen bleach obsession is not over and still kind of inspires me to work in my field. Love it! You get that subscription from me😊
Congrats on 50k!! 100% agree with your top pick as it’s my favorite as well. One of the coolest drawings I’ve ever seen. Kubo just doesn’t miss when it comes to fashion.

For myself, I never gave that much thought to the volume covers, they were more an afterthought for me--not that they're bad or anything, but they are the least of the artworks in each volume as far as my personality and focus go. That being said, 49 is very deserving of a top place because of the fact that it features Ichigo in a unique and abnormal outfit, because it that case it mirrors what are truly Kubo's artwork masterpieces, the Chapter Intro splash pages. Kubo's artistic genius is really brought out in his well-polished special pieces featuring the cast in incredible costumes, some of which were so good they inspired one-shot filler episodes based entirely around the costumes and their thematic element. Volume 49's cover looks like it was pulled from such a page but with the added bonus of popping color, making it a worthy king of this hill.

I subscriberd this channel for two reasons: 1) I LOVE Bleach as both manga and anime, it was and still is one of my first animes I was interested in and I own nearly all volumes. It has inspirated me with my own series (fantasy/scifi alternate story set in far, far future where humanity is gone due self-caused end of the world and replaced with mostly humanoid animals with lots of shounen/other anime genres elements)
2) as a writer (publishing my story in my blog in Finnish as I am not confidence enough writing in English and maybe largely someday) the main focus along side with the plot is in the characters so this channel gives me interesting ways to create my characters largery (some of them being inspirated by Bleach characters while all of them being inspirated many popular culture characters). Right now I am trying to write a short story as a late birthday present to a friend, with the main characters of it based on Gin and Rangiku.

I like vol. 6's as well, really catches Kisuke's badass yet shady element. The dark coloring possibly speaks of his past as an assassin and brightness refers to him presently saving the worlds with Ichigo and co.
I just noticed that Ichigo "The Black Moon Rising" (his rise and ) and Aizen "God Is Dead" (his downfall) were drawn with the same pose :) Love your content, keep it up

Bleach for me has some of the best manga covers. They are very simple but kubo's art is just amazing to where I can enjoy looking at the simplest cover. Also I personally like the one color filter for the covers in the blood war arc, to me it looks very clean, simple and aesthetically pleasing

One thing to note is that the pictures of these covers pale in comparison to holding it in your hand. I just started my collection and Issue 32 with Grimmjow’s Pantera blew me away. I have books 31-41 and to me, nothing even comes close to 32. It’s framed perfectly with the Bleach logo in the middle (it’s slightly different from yours) and Grimmjow encircles it with his jet-blue cyan hair... it’s art.
I can’t wait to complete my collection and make my own list, your Top 5 were awesome.
