Ocean Tides Making Sense - Introduction to the series

This video is just my announcement of the new series explaining the ocean tides, with an outline of how I'm planning to shape it. Unfortunately I will have to start out with an attempt to make a an unattractive sounding concept (differential gravitational attraction) more tangible. I feel I must do this because, in my opinion, a majority of people never pass this obstacle, stick with mistaken notions and are consequently not aware of the true nature of the tidal phenomenon. I hope I can do something to change that.

Sounds great. I studied quite a bit of physics but your earlier still cleared some misconceptions to me.
I know making this kind of material takes a lot of effort, but even if you can't get to spread it a lot on youtube it will be great to have this kind of explanation readily available in video form : )

Hello, Thank you for your kind comment. I’m aware that nobody will ever go ‘viral’ with a video about ocean tides. Maybe I should consider descending Mount Everest in a shopping cart for that (I do have a video of a wasp at 40.000 feet, maybe that’ll do it 🤔). But I am hoping to show people that they are well capable of understanding the ocean tides, as long as they can get away from the popular misconceptions which are still being repeated by many ‘explainers’. I am currently hard at work, trying to mould these ideas into the right balance between correctness and ‘watchability’. I hope to live up to creating something you’d be willing to repeat and hope to create aha-moments for those who wonder about this subject.

This looks very promising! Hopefully this new series will correct the many falsehoods to be found on TH-cam about the Earth’s tides.
