• Lament of Isis and Nep...
The ancient words sung from the Egyptian Book of the Dead celebrate the coming of Ra as he rises in the eastern horizon, and also the coming of Osiris.
Nothing survives of the actual music from these times, but the aolian pentatonic scale, which is the melodic basis for the choir setting, has been found on ancient flutes from this period.
Now complete, the CD "Tears of Isis" is available on iTunes, Amazon and CD Baby.
There is no actual surviving notated music from ancient Egypt, but there are many artifacts and texts that are suggestive of elements of music, so all the music in my series is an imaginative musical scenario that I hope people may enjoy.
Jeffrey, I visited Egypt many years ago and was able to feel the mystery of that ancient spiritual culture, and I truly believe you have captured its essence in your music . I love listening to it for it seems to pull me
back in time, enabling me to to sense its awe and sacredness .
How kind, your comment means so much to me. I'm now mastering the audio for a new CD, "Ancient Egyptian Music II. Hopefully it will be released within a month or so. I'm very excited about it, and composing it has been an amazing adventure.
Thank you so much for this!🙏🏻
What you can find and put together is good enough, you don’t need to explain yourself.
The fact that you took the time to recreate the ancient music says a lot and it’s respectable, don’t explain anything we appreciate it.
Simply beautiful! Thank you for sharing this most sacred song!❤ (hynm to the divine!❤)
I love RA and Isis thank you so much for posting great for meditation at the alter
Blessed be
So mote it be
So soll es sein..😊
Ancient egyptian sacred song was similar to gregorian chant. This sounds good and authentic vocal and instrumental
Due to the fact that this is partially from where Latin/Gregorian chants derive.
The practice of ancient Egyptian religion was banned c. 600ad by the Byzantine emperor so the Christian churches had several hundred years to witness n learn of egyptian chant rooted far back in their history
What a tranquil, soulful, goosebump-inducing composition! Makes me feel I am in a long, high ancient Egyptian corridor walking in a procession with the voices echoing mysteriously around me. Thanks for this!

God of a thousand million suns of a thousand million worlds forgive my offenses and ignorance. Accept my thanks for your all you have blessed me with. May the incense I burn every day be a pleasing gift to the true gods of all that is. Forgive me my evil vengeful thoughts against the unworthy filth that seems to hold power over this beautiful sacred earth and it's children. May your light shine upon us all and rid us of the evil that would deny us progression and growth. May we all become light and love. Let us all change our path in your guidance and nurturing. Let us all become pleasing to you and accept us as a gift to your intention. So be it.
Beautifully stirring 🙏🏼🕊🕊🕊
Thanks so much!
Thanks for that information about the Nubians. Pentatonic is in a sense a universal scale, since it is used by musical cultures all around the world.

Excellently crafted. While I know that this is not taken from direct notation, your adherence to Coptic musical tradition and the incorporation of ancient instrument analogues is superb. If you are ever interested in a collaboration with an Electronica artist, Please, Please Please let me know. I would be honored.

What language is it sung in?
The vocal score was created using ancient Egyptian texts transliterated. At best, it is an approximation of the ancient language of Egypt.
My slave for not listen me????
@jcool88babi No, there is no surviving evidence what the ancient egyptian music sounded like.

@TheNewBlackster yes but my point is that we don't really know how to read glyphs and how to translate them properly.

This its a Gregorian chant, nothing to do with egyptian music at all.
it is hard to find Egyptian music, especially when there is so much confusion about the Egyptians in the first place
I dont know, it sounds to me like they're saying Neteru (Gods). but someone with more knowledge of AE language could recognize more
I mean the way they sing its gregorian. The lyrics can be egyptian but this its a cristian like chant.
Its like...you sing in celtic and then sing it like enya. That doesnt mean that you are singing original Celtic songs!
ah yes i see. i've heard that there is not very much that we can figure out from the Ancient Egyptian ruins to give us a clue as to the sound of the music. but we do see instruments in the drawings
Beautiful
