  • If you enjoy this video, please check out our newest, "Lament of Isis and Nephthys on the Death of Osiris":
    • Lament of Isis and Nep...
The ancient words sung from the Egyptian Book of the Dead celebrate the coming of Ra as he rises in the eastern horizon, and also the coming of Osiris.
Nothing survives of the actual music from these times, but the aolian pentatonic scale, which is the melodic basis for the choir setting, has been found on ancient flutes from this period.
Now complete, the CD "Tears of Isis" is available on iTunes, Amazon and CD Baby.

There is no actual surviving notated music from ancient Egypt, but there are many artifacts and texts that are suggestive of elements of music, so all the music in my series is an imaginative musical scenario that I hope people may enjoy.

Jeffrey, I visited Egypt many years ago and was able to feel the mystery of that ancient spiritual culture, and I truly believe you have captured its essence in your music . I love listening to it for it seems to pull me
back in time, enabling me to to sense its awe and sacredness .

How kind, your comment means so much to me. I'm now mastering the audio for a new CD, "Ancient Egyptian Music II. Hopefully it will be released within a month or so. I'm very excited about it, and composing it has been an amazing adventure.

The fact that you took the time to recreate the ancient music says a lot and it’s respectable, don’t explain anything we appreciate it.

Ancient egyptian sacred song was similar to gregorian chant. This sounds good and authentic vocal and instrumental

Due to the fact that this is partially from where Latin/Gregorian chants derive.

The practice of ancient Egyptian religion was banned c. 600ad by the Byzantine emperor so the Christian churches had several hundred years to witness n learn of egyptian chant rooted far back in their history

God of a thousand million suns of a thousand million worlds forgive my offenses and ignorance. Accept my thanks for your all you have blessed me with. May the incense I burn every day be a pleasing gift to the true gods of all that is. Forgive me my evil vengeful thoughts against the unworthy filth that seems to hold power over this beautiful sacred earth and it's children. May your light shine upon us all and rid us of the evil that would deny us progression and growth. May we all become light and love. Let us all change our path in your guidance and nurturing. Let us all become pleasing to you and accept us as a gift to your intention. So be it.
