Something to note about the Saw series is that it’s implied that for a lot of traps, in part due to some of them showing it, Jigsaw is watching the players, so attempts to cheat at the game will often be futile.
Then whats the point of having it activate when pulling the string?
Technically you can cheat. It’s just jigsaw will most likely rig it. But if you’re smart enough you can find a way out without hurting yourself. Because if you’ve watched the other movies. Jigsaw says he’s against murder and he hates murders. So he wouldn’t be able to kill you.
And if someone did kill you, then they are probably going to the next saw trap
his first trap failing and he having to improvise proves this but he was dead by the time of this movie.
Honestly long as I'm in a trap that's an instadeath without any pain I ain't even trying. Just lemme sit down and wait 😂

Even Hank wasn't punished without reason as he'd knowingly been smoking despite having a history of high blood pressure and heart disease, and willingly pissing his life away for the sake of a worthless high, which directly goes against Jigsaw's goal to make people appreciate life. Hank was tested for the same reason drug addicts like Amanda were tested.

When discussing the Oxygen Crusher, there’s one important factor you failed to mention. Holding your breath for extended periods of time and slowing your breathing down becomes much more difficult in high stress situations. The stress triggers your cardiovascular system to work harder, causing you to breathe faster and making your breathing more shallow. Your health, age, and hereditary background won’t do anything to prevent you from experiencing severe stress in a life or death situation, especially one as horrific as this. Even a young, healthy person with a clean hereditary background like William would struggle in this trap.
The Oxygen Crusher is one of the most brutal of Jigsaw’s traps, not because of how it kills the loser, but because it actively makes your own body work against you by inducing severe stress that inhibits your ability to control your own breathing and then forcing you to hold your breath, making an involuntary bodily function a hazard to you and forcing you to fight against your own body to survive, while also pitting you against another person and making your survival dependent on outlasting someone else.
Much like the Shotgun Carousel, the true horror of the Oxygen Crusher comes not from how the trap kills you, but from what it forces you to do and the psychological effects that it brings.
As a gamer, losing an arm is unacceptable for that first part. Would much rather lose a leg. A prosthesis to replace a leg is relatively inexpensive and less complex compared to say...a replacment bionic hand, something not exactly readily available for the average person.

With the amount of money Jigsaw has, considering the costs of setting up all the traps and that he was a civil engineer. I'm quite sure he could have afforded the experimental gene therapy even without the insurance coverage. The fact that he does afford something similar in Saw X just goes to show that.

I found out how to hold my breath way longer. I also trick myself into thinking I'm taking a breath.
I like to keep myself under the water submerged and having to hold my breath. The water feels ethereal. Like a place to myself. So I have to hold my breath.
The problem with them carefully examining the cord when they wake up, nobody’s going to be that calm and logical, and they don’t know exactly how the traps work so sabotaging them is almost always u realistic, and sabotaging them without triggering the game is honestly just not ever going to happen. You’d only have a chance if you immediately realised what situation was the second you woke up, which they have no at of doing.
There’s a reason John uses motion activated traps, people are naturally going to move and freak out when they wake up in a terrifying unknown situation after being abducted.
Imagine you wake up somewhere and look around and you hear “and that was their biggest mistake”

To be honest, if i was in the carousel shotgun trap, i would tell willam not to press the button when it hits me. Im pretty flexible, and very small (im 144 cm only) so if i spread my legs and push my body down, i should be able not get shot by the shotgun. For the hand cuffs, id just twist my hands. No big issue, ive done it before

@35:00, reminds me of what happened to Detective Tapp and Detective Sing in 2004's "Saw": they HAD Jigsaw, but STILL managed to lose a 2 on 1 fight and were too STUPID to wait for backup! It's pretty standard police procedure to put the suspect in handcuffs FIRST, THEN you can frisk them or wait for backup.
Yeah I get your first point unless you legit are spider-man there’s no way you’re breaking through that glass no matter how much momentum is on your side what could’ve been done instead was hold on to the chain until it took him wherever. Sure someone’s probably waiting there to confirm the kill so he’s probably dead no matter what but I’ll take a slim chance over none at all

And like some traps people genuinely had no real chance at surviving like seriously like I can't remember if he came up with the traps in the 4th movie and in the one with the writer but I thought he did, and like some of them and also the Saw 3 victims had no way if saving themselves! I don't think John Cramer's philosophy was supposed to hold up under scrutiny by sane people. He's a delusional serial killer; it's only supposed to make sense to him. At least that's how I thought we were supposed to interpret it.
Sidenote tho: one of the directors of one of the sequels commented in an interview that he didn't view Kramer as a killer, so whatdoiknow.. kind of a sociopath comment tbh, which is probably why some of the sequels seems so thematically bankrupt and without conflict.
@@NorthernRealmJackal no, not as simple as that. He was not just insane. In Jigsaw he thanks Anna (the person I was rooting for) for her support during his chemo. But he picked her bc she framed her husband for killing her baby. He made a lot of sense in that movie. The victims were all killers.

To be honest, William had it coming for being unfair to John Kramer and that family.
He wasn’t, if he accepted he likely would have gotten fired or they would simply have rejected it themselves and reprimand him. Insurance company can’t pay for everyone’s experimental surgeries

It was always funny to me how Hoffman found out that the fingerprints he planted with Strahm's hand were not working anymore, yet he STILL decides to plant Strahm's fingerprints in the lab, ESPECIALLY knowing he is going to burn it down anyway🤣🤣🤣
Not a forensic expert but I think the idea is to blame the fire for a bad partial print or as a secondary buffer in case the fire doesn't burn everything
