I love her and Bernadette Peters! As theatre people, we should know not to judge a role based one actor's portrayal since we all portray characters differently! We can choose not to like one, but no one version is better than the other!

I really wonder why everyone is harping on Catherine Zeta Jones... She is a terrific actress, not to mention à wonderful singer. And a master of sarcasm, that is necessary for this song...
@horerfandod3 Sorry, I didn't mean to upset you. I just think playing a role shouldn't be a competition with everyone else that has played it before you. If you don't like Mr. Buntrock's performance that's fine, but try watching it without comparing it. I thought he was quite good on both occasions that I saw the show - opposite Ms. Zeta Jones and Ms. Peters. And that diminishes nothing from Mr. Cariou's original performance of the role.

@horerfandod3 that's because he isn't len cariou. only len cariou is len cariou and he's too old to play this part now, so enjoy this performance for what he brings to it.

This is theatre. It's SUPPOSED to be big.. there are no cameras to pick up micro expressions when the audience is so far away...

I don't think it is humanly possible to be as beautiful as CZJ. She's ridiculously stunning. Her acting is meh, but her voice is pretty excellent.
