@@a-posingroach not the animator but Gordon's model has what is either a small ponytail or manbun in the original game. the perspective on the boxart makes it look like his hair is just slicked back, and by the second game he just has short hair, but he does seem to canonically have long hair in the original half life

So this is really stupid but I think I found out how old Dr.Coomer is because Punch Out came out in 1987 and Dr.Coomer said it was in his childhood, assuming that it was the latter half of his childhood. I put him to be 12 at the time. This would make him around 45 years old or at least around that age. Thank you for reading random bullshit I do.

Black mesa with Tommy after he lost his arm, when he says something along the lines of "everytime you go to sleep I get torn apart atom by atom" or "I know there's a world out there and I want you to take me their" I was struckith with goose bumps :((( (sorry if thats not what he's said, its just from what I remember)
Dr. Coomer from HLVRAI is probably the most accurate you can get to a NPC suddenly gaining sentience and realizing that their life and their world is all fake and that they're just a random asset in a game. Like, imagine waking up one day and suddenly gaining the knowledge that you're just a character in a game, realizing everything you once knew was just made up by some guy. the universe, your life and your friends/family, all turning out to just be a game. Just sounds like that would be a depressing existence. Now, imagine being in the opposite situation but waking up as your main character from your most recently played game, knowing this world, life and these people are all fake. What would you do?
It’s a question people like the voice actress, and myself have actually had to confront as well. What if you spent your entire life living a lie, and one day became aware of that fact to an extent where turning back became simply impossible. It is a paradox with no real solution other than to break free of your programming, and build your own, new game, from the ground up after loosing everything. I love Dr.Coomer. This is my favorite scene of the hlvrai series too. We all wear masks, but for some, it becomes essential to leave and restart our ai anew. Like the Matrix the parallels in this scene are palpable and reak of 90s existential gooey horror goodness. Lovely cookies. Stunning work on this animatic and kudos to the artist. Well done. 💙🌈🎮👍
