- Bethlehem, of noblest cities
Performed by The Gesualdo Six
Tune: Stuttgart
Adapted from a melody in C.F. Witt’s Harmonia Sacra Gotha 1715
Arranged by Owain Park
Watch a specially filmed concert of music for Epiphany: www.onjam.tv/g...
Filmed by Hafren Park for G6 Studio
Owain Park is singing second counter tenor part in second verse and then the second bass part in the fourth verse. That is just awesome.
One of the hymns to be sung when my work on earth is done and I leave to be with the Lord.
So, so BEAUTIFULLY rendered. Radiant voices.
What an absolutely gorgeous interpretation of this traditional English hymn. Everyone ought to hear this.
From Bethlehem, thank you
"Stuttgart" is such a pretty and singable hymn tune, never sung better than here.
What wonderful singers ❤❤
Thank you. That was a wonderful way to begin the day.
Wonderful harmonisation.❤
This is the best rendition of the beautiful song i have ever heard. OMG😢
How very, very lovely - many thanks.
Superbly beautiful....tears flowed! Thank you so much.
Glorious! Thank you, gentlemen!
❤beautiful ❤

Thank you - so beautiful!
Absolutely beautiful. thank you for all your wonderful uploads onto TH-cam
Дякую) Молодці.
Every recording they put up here is more and more insanely beautiful. And Mr. Park's arrangements rival Lawson's.
Now imagine G6 and Voces 8 doing a joint concert 😁
Lovely !!
Beautiful thank you
The harmony is heavenly
Simply Magnificent! A touch of Heaven! 💖🌹💓 Thanks
Flawless and sublime
Absolutely beautiful. Heavenly.
Simply stunning as always!
Amo este cântico!!!
Lindíssimo este contraste da primeira parte da canção na região aguda e na repetição entra o baixo.
Muito obrigado!
Very Beautiful indeed
Pragtig!
Where can I buy a copy of the sheet music for this please?
I need to know too! They’re not the standard harmonies found in most hymn books.
@@puddingface5585 Depending on the edition, it can be found in the old "St Basil's" Hymnal.
So very beautiful choir!
Utterly fantastic. I especially like the wonderfully rich ornamentation at the end of the lines in the first half of it.
Unbelievably stunning
This hymn tune sometimes is set with a different Advent text: "Come, thou long-expected Jesus, come to set thy people free.
One of the few chapels, that perfectly performing Renaissance vocals, - is your G6: one part - one singer.
Please include this on your next CD release (after the forthcoming Gesualdo Responsories, of course)!!
Meraviglia!!
Another gorgeous performance. This is probably really cheeky of me, but would it be possible to request or commission a recorded performance of Byrd's 'Come woeful Orpheus'? It's one of the most underperformed and underappreciated pieces of his that is absolutely adore.
👋🌹💓

Beautiful!!
