There’s a simple way you can unstuck and completely change the way you solo on your guitar. If you feel stuck and uninspired when you solo, this can be the answer you are looking for.
If you’ve been playing guitar for a while, you probably already realized that guitar is a shape based instrument. That’s how we all start playing guitar: first the shape of a few major chords, then minor chords, the power chords and so on. We soon realized that we can move those shapes around the fretboard to have different results. When it comes to soloing, though, for some reason guitar players tend to not apply that same rule.
In this video you will learn how you can move the shape of scales around the same way you move the shape of chords to have different notes and sounds.
This is a beginner-intermediate solo improvising guitar lesson.

Good job of keeping it real by leaving in the request from your son - that is how fathers should respond to their kids - show them you care more about them than anything else you might be doing..... now on to the lesson, thanks.

Great lesson - thanks very much! I've been trying to figure out how to link the pentatonic shapes I know to CAGED chords (and learn my major and minor scale patterns and the various other chords in the key like the 4/5/6) and this helps - plus it sounds great!
