Is it the white platinum blessed edition on standard edition?
why don't you do a episode on prison with Joe Guerrero from after prison show
I got the 4th of july bundle a while back with the electric lighter and watch. Love them both oddly the watch STILL hasnt ran out of fluid how much did you guys put in?
Lovely day for a
GUINESS
Is it i cant stop staring on brians shirt
3:18 You've screwed up big time. You had the chance to give them a C++ there...
lol
would've been hilarious :D
I had the exact same thought!
I don't get it
A+ would have made more sense (for the A+ hardware certification) lmao
i cant tell you how disappointed i am that i cant find any leaked security footage of lorenzo pollard beating the shit out of people with homemade nun-chucks
I know!!!
Prison made*
Louis TheEleventh xD
What a last name
You got two separate high ranking comments under a single video, good job lol
I worked at a jail for a few years and Yeah, D&D is VERY popular. The dice they make is usually done with TP and toothpaste, really interesting stuff... they do try to make d20's but they normally come out pretty blah
Directionally Challenged Are polyhedral dice contraband in prison? Or do people just not give them any?
i think it depends, but in missouri I know they dont allow it, can't speak for other states for sure
@@ztmackin I'd imagine if you get enough of them you could break them and make a weapon out of them some way
@@ztmackinDice in any form are contraband, they're used in gambling. I don't know why cards aren't contraband though.
I kinda want to donate some of my dnd stuff now...
The Modern Rogue is definitely my favorite TH-cam channel.
Yay!
Agreed the comedy is second to none!!!
Modern rogue, vsauce, what the math
The modern rogue. Showing you how to get into, enjoy yourself in and get out of prison.
Also I love this channel.
Thanks!!
Junkrat main in prison btw
You
The playing cards explosive was even more inventive than just a pressured pipe, he used the nitrocellulose cover on the playing cards as explosive fuel. The water washed it off and by heating it, it exploded. It even made it to open the cell door.
This channel: A++
A*++
The thing about the modern rogue is, and I don't know if that is a common feeling. But I seem to see Jason and Brian as old pals of mine, as I always feel glad to have a new video on my feed, and the way the video is made, a casual, fun way, Wich is, strangely, hard to find on TH-cam!
This is, hands down, my favorite channel on TH-cam. Thanks for the great work, and cheers from Brazil!
Glad you're enjoying it, pal!
0:55 you actually CAN threaten a crit with a natural 15 in D&D 3.5 if you use the Keen enchantment, the Keen Edge spell, or the Improved Critical feat on a Kukri, Scimitar, or Rapier
I've always wondered what a group of mechanical engineers behind bars could build like Iron Man in his first movie and comic. I like to tinker with random scraps and try to make something useful.
i had a hard time imagining the playing cards killing him, i dont understand how he created enough pressure but looking into the matter it seems he used the red cards which contained nitrocellulose to create the violent reaction with water and heat and possibly creating intense vibrations when striking the "bomb" to accelerate the process but it still took him 2-3 days to finally expire...i think i would have taken the chair over lingering in agony for 3 days from a head wound and most likely steam burns all over my face but the fact that he knew the red cards contained nitrocellulose and knew how to use it is impressive to me
Whaaaat?! That's fascinating (and gruesome)! Thanks for posting that.
Maybe it was more of a “You won’t kill me. I’ll kill me.” type of thing?
I did see something on this before years ago and it was definitely to do with something that was used in the red ink so I can confirm that. I'm unsure as to exactly how he utilised it though and never knew about the slow lingering death he had. Still it is an incredible story by all accounts.
Your skin can create an airtight seal
It has to do with what the cards were printed with, the red ink would react with water and build up pressure and heat
Modern rogue- Complimenting prisoners commiting crimes and attempting to escape
12:15 - I like how Brian thinks that someone on death row for murder can suicide-escape himself into _heaven_ - now that WOULD be an impressive escape! A+
Homemade nunchuks where each pipe is a homemade card shotgun....
You guys should team up with After Prison Show
yes that would be great
David Hanselvunth yessss
Darn you and your DuckDuckGo icon
That would be awesome
That would be fantastic.
The best Modern Rogue episode is any Modern Rogue episode
You guys are officially GMM if GMM hit the streets. I love it
Except the Modern Rogue is actually interesting
well, imo GMM was better 2 seasons ago.. now it looks like they are milking the franchise.
@@Gencivus yup
@@virtualfroggy well I guess you're the expert.
@@nathanielb.2561??? I just agreed with someone smh my head
More modern rogue! Yasssss!
Rick Astley *yesssss
They’re never gonna give it up
We're never gonna let you down.
We’re never gonna run around.
And forget you
Been waiting so long for you guys to do an episode on this subject its insane some of the stuff these guys can make
Edit: What about the guy who built a 22 caliber gun out of plumbing parts or the guy who built a paper crossbow (yes it is from that episode of mythbusters but i dont care its awesome)
Nunchuck dude should've been given an S-rank from the badass - factor alone.
Wow you guys are STEAMROLLING toward 1 million subs. Gotta have something intense when you reach that point. Will you guys be doing another live Q&A sometime?
Definitely!
Break at work, some good food and a modernrouge video. Life is good
Really think the blaster with the playing cards would be a very interesting build!
Sidenote: super interested in Bombfell now. Love the authenticity and how genuine it was to see you examine all your products.
The Lorenzo Pollard story is still my go to when people argue nunchucks can't possibly work for theoretical reasons. Because it seems the few times people actually use nunchucks, it's always successfully. If armed and armored prison guards don't want to crowd the guy breaking bulletproof glass after he messed up their colleagues, that's a glowing commemdation.
When your mum said prepare for the future this isn’t what she meant
Hahaaaaa! Nice one. Well done to you. 👏👏😂😂
CAUSE IM A MODERN ROOOOOOGUE
diddly diddly dee
A friend of mine who was a prison guard told me a story about how a prisoner made a sword out of newspaper and toothpaste using the wheels of the cell door to compress the paper and toothpaste into a board that could be sharpened. The guy was able to use it in an attack against other prisoners and guards.
Next episode about building a playing card shotgun?
please
apparently not :(
Please make the card bomb shotgun thing it would be awesome!
You guys should start a podcast. I enjoy listening to you so much! I listen to you guys while doing everything from homework to driving. The only problem is that it's on TH-cam! There's nothing wrong with TH-cam but it makes it difficult if I'm somewhere that there isnt internet. That's why I think you should make a podcast! I can download episodes before I leave and have entertainment everywhere I go!
We're trying to get to a point where we can do that! As it is, Modern Rogue isn't quite lucrative enough for us to do as much with it as we'd like. We're getting there, though. If you're interested, help us out at Patreon.com/modernrogue
Brian: He was a MURDERER
Also Brian: He could do a hell of a trick in heaven...
The Playing Card Shotgun does sound great. You two making a working prison glider would sound awesome as well.
Ai love episodes like this ; these ones and the con men episode
#freebrian
Having watched a NOVA on the prisoners at Colditz castle, the ingenuity of the prisoners is amazing. Not only did they make a plane but used social engineering on their guards using items from their red cross care packets to bribe them into all kinds of stuff!
I still haven't seen Jason with the nun-chucks, and you guys talk about it all the time. i'm going to find it right now.
Oh god I totally thought this was going to be about how to prepare your character sheet for a prison game?
Heh. Not very much in-line with the show's usual topics, but it would definitely be fun.
This was a damn good episode and a damn good sponsor. Loving the show guys keep it up!
Thanks man!!
Great new episode guys! However, I just wanted to say, about the part where you mentioned the “spud gun” prison escape, I believe you may be thinking of John Dillinger’s escape from Crown Point, a jail in Indiana. However, it wasn’t a potato, but a piece a crudely carved wood, darkened with with something like shoe black. There’s also a news report about an inmate doing the same thing more recently, but with a “gun” carved from soap instead of wood. Anyway, the spud gun line was still funny! Just thought I’d mention it since you guys appreciate the fine details 😁. Can’t wait for the next episode! 👍
10:00
"he beat up many many guards... And I live that" 😂😂😂😂
Dope, new vid to keep me entertained while in horrible pain from surgery and high out of my mind on painkillers 🙃
Sam T man, my heart goes out to ya bro.. be careful... I ended up with a 15 year heroin addiction from pain meds.... It's no joke... take care homie,no one should go thru that
Sam T lmao im just high JK JK take care man, goodluck hopefully you feel better i hate being sick
Sam T Damn... Hope you get better soon, mate!
Philie Spiess dude, way to get out of the life, we need more people like you
Ayye me too 😀
17:14 "youve never looked like a clown (but you have looked like a hobo)"
I always look forward to a new Modern Rogue video. It is about time I clicked to get notifications. It has to be one of my favourite channels going.
Playing Card Shotgun- hell yeah! can't wait for that video!
Modern rogue- "bombfell", makes sense
I can confirm, we had a game of "Risk" that involved maps torn from the library encyclopedia, backs of raisin boxes, and the toilet paper dice. We had our own units (infantry regiments, armor, battleships, spies, aircraft and more) and we even had our own set of rules. It was fucking awesome. I still have it.
Murphy as prison's Game Master is just mindblowing idea to regard xD
NOT CRUNCHY!!! NOOOOO
Hopefully the guys who built computers didn’t see the video on how to make a prison spear.
Ive been on a modern rogue binge these last three days, i just finnished the steak episode and this came at the right time!
Whoa! You gotta pace yourself.
Jason Murphy im trying but its hard to stop!
great stuff! these stories really need animated representation.
Hey guys Love the vids! Bryan is your hand Immortal from all the injuries?
CrazyRedPanda Plays yes it is.. he is immune to thrown cards
It's going to be like Ash's hand from Evil Dead.
Shwood, your Hawaii cruise... Was it on the Pride of America around the islands? Cause I did that a while ago and it was amazing!
Yes! I am on that very boat right now!!! We disembark tomorrow morning!
The Modern Rogue She’s a beautiful ship, right? And NCL is a great line too. I just wish water was included in the drinks package. Hope you’re enjoying Hawaii! :)
love you guys, keep seeing your prison topics. i have done over a decade, half of it federal, mostly for marijuana, don't worry im not violent. i was the radio man. mostly i fixed headphones 2$, radios 5$, and mp3 players were 5 or 10$ . i used the bottom of a soda can, oil and a q tip assembled into a lamp with a paper clip as a soldering iron. flux and solder are always available from the plumbing dept.. a buddy found a drawer full of extra remote controls for the TVs [7 TVs on each cell block with about 130 people]. i bought them cheap and disassembled them to strip down the important parts, chip, capacitor and ir led. hid them until i could find buyers and re assembled them inside of mp3 players, alarm clocks and radios for about 50$, each channel+/- and power; volume was another 25$. i managed to save up about 5 thousand to come home with and started a home improvement company, been free going on 5 years, and still tinkering i just wanted to share my experience and let you know im here if you need a creative consultant who has been inside
Thanks for the Bombfell info. I am really excited to try it out
I’m really loving it so far
Wait a sec! Jason plays dnd? Want to play man? Hell I'll dm
I haven't played a lot of D&D, but I do love it.
Jason Murphy oh damn i wasn't expecting an answer to be honest, but yeah hey if you ever want to play we can HA
I'm probably going to run a game on my Twitch channel at some point in the future.
+Jason Murphy That sounds rather amazing. Is D&D the only system you've played or have you dabbled in others? Also - what's your twitch?
Jason Murphy yeah give us the name of the channel Mr. Murphy
Castle Attic Glider is like the story of Daedalus and Icarus who made artificial wings to escape a prison.
Good point!
Jason Murphy no such thing as a new idea...........
The card bomb is based on old decks and the printing process. The red pips on old cards were super volatile if cut out and processed correctly. Old anarchist cookbook type books have designs for red pip pipe bombs.
That glider prison escape must be made into a movie ASAP. Just change the ending to where they actually escape with it instead of the war ending and you got an instant classic
After prison show and modern rouge, make it happen please
We'd love that.
Poor Joe will end up back in prison
For some reason i didnt get the notification for this. That just me? Whats going on?
You guys are 100% the new myth busters
Interesting, I do want to see that playing card shotgun demonstrated (at a target). I also liked the commercial, it shows Brian's dedication, filming it while on vacation aboard a cruise ship... man, the lengths you guys go to...
The bombfell Link in the description has a !, so it goes to a 404
Rebecca works now
Playing overwatch on those computers and maining junkrat
Love Brian's Guinness t-shirt! "Toucans in their nests agree GUINNESS is good for you! Open some today and see what one or Toucan do!"
The ads are just as entertaining as the actual video
im part of the minute men now
cause i was here in the first minute.
YEAH!
ENYOJi I
Cool, more modern Rogue... Kinda want more but I binged everything
I never played d&d until going to prison.now it was not " typical" d&d as everything was about escaping, tricking gaurds, and smuggling contraband. But it was a lot of fun.
Best prison build ever had to be the glider the allied POW’s built in a Nazi POW prison.
It was rebuilt and tested later and it flew which isn’t surprising when some of the POW’s were pilots so knew a little about how wings work for lift.
that bombfell as was actually very cool. so entertaining I forgot this was a prison video lol
Great video as always!!
Fun Episode! FYI Jason was talking into the wrong side of the mic during the ad read. It's a side address mic unless it's a different mic that just looks a lot like the blue yeti.
Johnathan Turner yup! Just learned that. I literally unboxed that mic seconds before filming.
I want to see the card shotgun!!! Can’t wait for that episode!!
I love what you guys do keep doing it
The content of Jasons bookshelf looks amazing lol
You two guys are awesome! Keep up the great content, you have the coolest job ever!
Thanks for watching! We really appreciate it.
Those Bruce Lee Nunchucks are awesome Jason
If I was a prison guard and walked in on guys making a plane...
I'd be like: "Uhm. Cool. Good luck. If that works, you deserve to be free. Just keep it down, don't wanna get caught before you get to fly that baby! Bye. Again, _gooood luuuuuck!_ lol"
please make the card shotgun :) would be a cool episode to see you guys trying to get it to work :D
9:15 you didn't hold on that shot neeaaarly enough :D
I would LOVE to see the Modern Rogue’s Dungeons and Dragons game.
Just an FYI, Brian, Stalag 13 was the prison camp in Hogan’s Heroes: The greatest TV show ever to air.
That bombfrll integration is so damn appealing!
Cornstarch works as well. It is known as a “dust initiator 🧨 “. First charge atomizes the particles into the atmosphere and then it is ignited. 💥
Fuel Air Explosive or Thermalbaric. Or TOS “flamethrower” in Russia.
You forgot about the guy that made a shotgun in prison here is how he did it: SHOTGUN - made from iron bedposts; charge made of pieces of lead from curtain tape and match-heads, to be ignited by AA batteries and a broken light bulb. On May 21, 1984 two inmates of a prison in Celle, Germany, took a jailer as a hostage, showed off their fire power by letting go at a pane of bullet-proof glass, and escaped by car. This by far is my favorite prison build of all time plus they actually escaped the prison im not sure if they where caught though
some prisoners are actually really smart and creative
Great vid guys
If you have a job stripping old computers for parts, it's really really really easy to build another computer from those parts. The hardest thing would be getting said parts out of the work area.
Yeah Murphey! Dungeon master bros! XD
A real modern rogue can DM on the fly for hardened criminals looking for an adventure in the Feywild.
This is the only channel that make me laugh so hard
Thanks, man.
Yay~!
While I was working in Texas death row an inmate made a working composite bow with food trays. However he did not have a chance to use it. Also death row inmates are known to make two way radios. I found out personally while walking the runs. A number of inmates were playing D&D with the use of two way radios.
Great video guys.
This is kinda a win/lose for me. I win because I loved these stories and hearing you talk about them. I lose because I've already read the articles! (Sometimes twice)
You guys are doing a fantastic job with the website, I've had it set as my home page and every day I always have the option to read something super cool!
You guys should have John Cheese on one episode and talk about the radio story where he went to jail, that article was fantastic. I'd love to watch you guys respond. And maybe bring in some people that haven't heard it yet to see their reactions!
Keep up the great work!
P.S.The filming and editing has also been fantastic in the videos, especially this one
P.P.S. How come an A- and and A average out to an A, but a B and a B+ average to a B and not a B+
Thanks man! Glad you’re enjoying the articles.
PS: Brandt’s our editor, and he’s a national treasure.
PPS: I guess we just round down to be safe?
re: grade bias - I convert the grades to a point average, so something like B- (80-82.9) B (83-86.9) B+ (87-89.9) which gets averaged to B- (81) B (85) B+ (88). You'll notice the middle grade has a range of 4 where the modified + and - only have a range of 3, so there's always going to be a bias in favor of the flat letter grade.
For a B and B+, you have (85+88)/2=86.5 which just barely falls into B. For an A- and an A, you have (91+95)/2=93 which is right on the line for an A.
Brandt Hughes oh nice!
Now I really want a tour of Jason's bookshelf. Got a lot of Conan the Barbarian back there, what else? Sandman, some RPG books?
Let's see . . . lots of Lovecraft, the Parker graphic novels, Criminal, Doom Patrol, Preacher, Swamp thing, a ton of horror novels, lots of folklore, RPG stuff, and on and on. . . (that's the stuff in the office, anyway)
It was John Dillinger and his escape is still the most exciting thing that's ever happened in Crown Point, Indiana. The second most exciting is Johnny Depp being there to film the Dillinger movie Public Enemies. The old courthouse is a John Dillinger museum know, so it's got that going for it at least.
D&D jokes, my bread and butter
Love the channel, used the link, keep with the great content! You guys need more views :^)
Thanks man. Help us spread the word?
The Modern Rogue for sure, least I can do!
Tbh i never fathomed myself to be interested in a clothing subscription service but you guys sold me! Im checking it out now
